This is very interesting and thanks for the time and effort. I can't help but wonder who might be 11th on this list---maybe Dmitri Shostakovich ??

Great job at putting this together Ben. But due to the length I only saw 10-6 so far. I'll def finish it up later.

Thanks Phil. I just can't resist putting all that awesome music in there.

goldsmith1210 yeah, where do you cut off a performance you think is great and worth hearing, right?

Fun list. Not that it matters a bunch but Roll Over Beethoven is Chuck Berry not Lennon/McCartney. Thanks for the effort to research and put this video together.

This would have been a lot more concise in article format... now I have to navigate through a 20-minute video.

In case you didn't notice this is a KZbin channel not a blog.

I know, and I respect that, but it seemed like a very small amount of information for a large time frame. I'm a speed reader and all :P sorry.

the one thing that might have eased the length would be injecting a picture of the drum corps performing just after the text & composer bust! weird hearing Blue Stars but watching Beatles lol, still, appreciate the time and effort

Which Corps played Sweet Cheryl Lynn from Chuck Mangione. That's one song I never imagined a Corps playing. For some reason I expected Stan Kenton. What was I thinking. Thanks for the effort. Fun to listen to and travel a bit back down memory lane.

My only hope was that something from a corps after 2000 was showcased, to show that these composers are still being used in the modern era. Still an amazing video though, thank you for posting.

Excellent editing job. Not to be exclusive, but it would be nice if someone could put together a montage of top 10 composers played by Senior corps as well.

I would have thought Copland would have been higher on the list. NO SURPRISE at number 1 though!

I'm more amazed Ben didn't put up a clip from West Side Story!
@goldsmith121010 жыл бұрын
sam signorelli West Side Story is so overdone. I cringe now when ever I see a corps announce they are playing it.
@samsignorelli10 жыл бұрын
goldsmith1210 Well yeah....it was long overdone before I ever lost to it with BD, or won with it in Dagenham 2 years later. The last truly innovative version was probably 87 Sky Ryders, BTW...do you have BD featured in your top 50 corps? I haven't found a vid if so.

Great video! Fyi, "Octopus' Garden" was written by Ringo Starr, not Lennon-McCartney.

nice work overall, watching/listening then realized its only Jr corps! tedious enough work to compile all this yet wish it included Sr./All-age since certain arrangements were noteworthy on that scene too but thanks for doing this drum corps trivia special interest story!

"Milk and Honey" is Jerry Herman, not Frederick Loewe.

How is Don Ellis not in the Top Ten...yet Chuck Mangione is?
@goldsmith12106 жыл бұрын
Because Chucks Music has been played more times than Ellis. I know it’s a tough concept to grasp.
