Love Dan Campbells aggressiveness that he goes for it on 4th down! Hope he continues this, it is so much more fun to watch then any other team in the NFL!!!

Agree with you for sure. He can’t lose that aggressiveness but just hone it in at the right moments.

We have to have a great defense. We got what AG wanted. So now it has to work. Great job JG. We have to be in the top 15 as far as defense goes.

It's hilarious with Hutch. He got that number of QB pressures WHILE BEING DOUBLE AND TRIPLE TEAMED ALL YEAR LONG. He's that good. The main reason why the sacks weren't up there had to do with not having additional help.

Agree with you 100%. Help for Hutch was key this offseason. Do you think they did enough?
@powerofk

@@johnnygazsports Who knows. But the team at least tried. Honestly, the Lions just need the rest of the defense to be simply good enough (and keep the secondary healthy--the team has a history of the starting secondary getting season-ending injuries in week 2).

I've watched the lions since 1984 season. An Dan Campbell is the best coach our lions ever had yeah 91 we went to the nfc championship but the blow out that year killed the sails till now we had a chance last season so the next season looks promising 4 the 1st superbowl baby. It would be even better if the lions beat greenbay in the nfc championship game to the superbowl.

Agree with all of these - the Lions are good enough to win the Super Bowl this year and that's the truth. The team knows it, the media knows it, and you know it hence why you're making this vid and we're commenting on it! I'd say learning the lessons from last year and getting one step ahead of our main competitors. Winning the division and fending off the hunters. Last year Love's improvement and Chicago's addition of Montez Sweat caught us off guard. Now we know, and I expect we'll be ready. Last year the Cowboys speed on defense made our O-line look mortal. Now we know and I expect big games from Goff and Gibbs/Monty. Last year Purdy's legs surprised us in the NFCCG. Now we know and the Chiefs showed us the blueprint in the SB. I think re. #1 Goff does need to continue to elevate his game in little ways, the most clear being playing better on grass. Every QB is getting better (eg. Purdy has a whole offseason now and is working on strength/mobility) and re. #10 I think if we're to win the SB this year it's imperative to beat SF in SF and we will this time around.
@johnnygazsports
@johnnygazsports Ай бұрын
You make great points. The cowboys defense definitely showed some of the holes in the offense/protection. The quarterbacks within the division are questionable but Love is showing some scary characteristics. And I also agree that the week 17 game vs SF will tell a lot about both teams!

10. I agree, the Lions need to be playing there best football heading into the post season, and you would think that would translate into wins. 9. I agree, the offense needs to keep adding to the offense. Having everyone here for another year in the same offense (and defense) is a benefit most good teams don't have. Also, players make their biggest leap from year 1 to year 2, which should help add new elements to the offense (Gibbs, Green, Sorsdal, and Laporta.) 8. I agree, Turnovers are huge factors in winning and losing. Enhanced defensive backfield that can press and tackle should help that. 7. I agree. It's funny that there were years that Jason Hanson was the best player on the team and now we can't seem to find a guy who's reliable and has a leg. 6. I disagree. I don't disagree that he needs the right balance, but I love what Dan's aggression must do to the opposing defenders and defensive coordinator. I love what it does for the Lions offensive players. Basically, I think he has been going for it at the right points last season, but the offense doesn't always execute like in the NFC championship. 5. I agree. All of the great drafting and development done up to this point needs to come to a head. I agree, Jamo is gonna be a much bigger contributer this season. His progression through last season is exactly what we wanted to see from him as a rookie. He had a slow start, but he's heating up. 4. I agree. We need more from the front end and the back end. Sacks, turnovers, TFL's and 3 and outs. 3. I agree. The defense as a whole should be much improved. Honestly, I'm expecting top 10 on O and D this season. 2. I agree. 1st seed isn't always necessary, but it would only help this team and leave the outcome in their hands instead of the elements. 1. I agree. Jared needs to keep up the great work. He does throw a lot of balls into risky situations, but I love that about him. As long as he keeps healthy and keeps the turnovers down, then we going to Sizzler!.

Dan Campbell tells Goff to cut it loose. Most of those throws aren’t seen as ‘risky’ but throws a high level nfl qb needs to make.

I saw that take in your opening too. Those three have figured out MCDC 💯%. I don’t know about ten things. That’s a lot. Injuries happen, all we can do is trust Brad to build a deep roster and for Dan and his coaches to coach them all up. The one thing, that I think is most important, is to maintain their laser like focus on the basics, on getting better everyday, on embracing the challenge, and on continuing to do the little things that got them here. So maybe that’s 3 components to focus on their work ethic. Maybe I would add something for the owner Shiela and Rod Wood. Go to the owners and lobby for getting the Roster up to 60 players, all of whom dress every week. And an expanded Practice squad with more protected players. Both of these things would be preliminary to an 18 game, two bye, season.
@johnnygazsports
@johnnygazsports Ай бұрын
You know that point about adding to the roster is really good. If they are going to continue to expand the regular season they have to allow for fresh bodies. Also about maintaining focus I could not agree more with you. That is where I think MCDC thrives and excels more than any other coach in the league!

1)become a top 10 defense, 2)Try scoring points in the 3rd quarter. They were racked 21st in 3rd quarter offense. What happened in SF and at Chicago was predictable. 3)play a hell of a lot better on GRASS Mr GOFF. 4)when the other team knows the Lions are going for it on 4th down. It seems the 3rd down call is predictable and fails forcing the 4th down play. 5) keep the Oline healthy. Go Lions!

If Jamo jas been hitting the jug machine and working on his route running and looking for the ball the rest of the league is introuble. Lions could have two backs with over 1k yards 2 wr over 1k yards and a TE with over 1k yards. Lions will be scary

I really hope not. More hoping the Bears implode and this ends up being an easy division win. Just trying to look at all sides. If everything works for the Bears who knows! plus Lions on the road in Chicago historically not good.

I expect the Lions to have a bit of a down year coming up. I say 8 or 9 wins. Too much have to happen for them to realistically make it back to the NFC Championship this year. They can’t finish no worse than a wildcard appearance at best. Good news is that the Lions have 3-4 years to win a Superbowl in that time frame. As long they can make the playoffs consistently year in and year out they have a chance of winning a Superbowl especially if they can get hot at any time.

Three NFC north teams have new or mostly new QBs,... you expect them to DECLINE in abilities? You expect Ragnow to last forever? The years of multiple first and second round picks? Green Bay had 5 picks in the first three rounds 11,... altogether . What are you basing all this essay on? They BETTER make it happen NOW,... or as they say,... SHIT will happen
@johnnygazsports
@johnnygazsports Ай бұрын
They certainly will be hunted differently this year. The quarterbacks outside of Love are very questionable in the North. And I agree there is a good window to make it happen but I’d love to see the momentum carry this year. Hopeful I know.
