I personally unwrapped the CEI clown from his base, assembled him and set him up for people to see on tours. His head mech is missing so there's a wooden stick running through his body with his stuffed mask propped up on it and a set of Dook/Billy Bob eyes stuck in his sockets, which is why his head and neck appear fatter and deflated and his eyes are larger compared to the vintage photo.

Have you heard of Stitch's Great escape? It closed a few years ago, and they had a Stitch animatronic and it unfortunately was thrown out as well. It's skeleton is seen rotting away in a really creepy image. Wow, they made stitch, one of the cutest Disney characters scary. Look it and the ride's history up, I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it.

I have a feeling that animatronic bands would be better suited for places more like Dave and Busters or other adult food and beverage arcades than current Chuck E Cheese places. I honestly agree, dave and busters should get animatronics. Despite me not being 21 (im 16) ive always been fascinated by animatronics and ive always wished that restaurants such as showbiz,circus playhouse,chuck e cheese etc were still around. I almost went to chuck e cheese when i was a kid for my birthday, but unfortunately the day we went it was very busy, so my parents just turned around and left. We went to dave and busters instead but there wasnt any animatronics unfortunately.

I personally have automatonophobia and submechanophobia because of childhood traumas with dolls and puppets. The fear of animatronics however, has been quite recent with games and stuff like that. My submechanophobia arises from the fact that 1:man made things shouldn’t be underwater, only bad has come from that, and 2: underwater animatronics are a big no-no. I fear I will fall into the water they are in and get mangled by the machinery. So glad they took Jaws out. If you read to they end you are probably wondering “why did you watch this then?”. Good question. Immersion therapy. I know they aren’t big phobias I have to deal with on a daily, but I want to one day be cured so when I have kids of my own I can bring them to Disney and not be afraid, and show them these should be happy things.

I went to Six Flags Over Georgia in November 2019, Monster Mansion isn't doing so great over there. It smells foul in the building and some of the animatronics we're not moving/ missing parts. One was even missing a hand. I didn't like the ride per say it was not worth the wait. however if it were to be refurbish and some of the animatronics were fixed it could be a worthwhile ride once again.

He was upgraded, and played “Alley Oop” They also have an animatronic band inside one of the rooms. The same room has a grumpy old man. If you are going to Wall, I recommend stopping at Wall Drug. I visit Wall-Drug in SD quite often, I have since I was a child at least 3 times year. The singing sam animatronic is still the one shown at 1:55, he's looked like that for awhile. Last year he didn't look that great, he was out of order and covered in dust when I went. The other one located in the black hills area, I haven't seen since I was maybe 6-7 years old so I'm unsure if it is still there and functioning. There's tons of animatronic/statue related attractions in the blackhills that used to be very polished but are now more run down but still a great experience to go see. There's storybook island, dinosaur park, old macdonalds farm, 1880 town, Four Mile Old West Town, and a lot more.

I absolutely love how creepy Big Al is.. If you've ever seen the walk around character near the show building, it's definitely creepier and the stuffed animals are so weird looking! Im surprised they didnt add the breyer rabbit character on this list. There was a dark ride attraction that had animatronics and one was a bunny in the bathtub...however it seems they didnt realize, or didnt care that the animatronic wasnt waterproof. And so it just sat there broken down and became gross (basically it started to rot and decay along with significant water damage) and it apparently smelled awful because the water it used for the bathtub (i think) cycled through the tub (i believe it would go out the faucet and then in the tub and then down the drain and back to the faucet)

You mentioned the clock from your childhood and in that slot for me is the talking and singing Christmas trees at the entrance/exit of Bugaboo Creek restaurants in the 2000’s. Not only were they terrifying but half the time they were in horrid condition making them even more unsettling. I was carried out of that restaurant crying on several occasions thanks to that tree.

South Dakotan here, one of the reasons the sam at wall drug ended up so deteriorated is because it's partially outdoors. It's in a show building, but just barely, I think they close it up for winter, but normally it's open on one side. South Dakota has some harsh weather. Hot and humid in the summer, in winter we get feet of snow. It's -6 degrees F as I'm typing this rn, it gets cold too. I bet the humidity is what really did the original one in. there's some other animatronics out there that seem to be falling apart these days as well. That being said, wall drug is definentally a place to stop if you get the chance. One of a kind, and I'll always love it.

MISS SCARLET HAS ALWAYS TERRIFIED ME!!! Several years ago Georgia had a really bad flood and unfortunately Six Flags was damaged by it as well. A few months later Six Flags was fixed and ready to reopen. So I went with some friends and we went on the Monster Mansion ride but it was clear that the animatronics were no longer working at top shape. It was kinda sad as the ride hasn’t been the same since as it seems to now have some of the animatronics not working properly anymore. Awe, the stuff of NIGHTMARES! I still find most kinds of animatronics a bit creepy (incl. those creepy ass furbies that I would NEVER bring inside my home) Animatronics are in the center of the uncanny valley! And as a kid, I was TERRIFIED of them. As an avid animal lover (who prob likes many animals more than a lot of ppl) I knew as a lil kid, animals couldn’t talk in real life. And the fact these animals not only talked, but they anthropomorphize with human like characters. Then on top of all of that, their mouths had the nerve to have the mechanical sounds being heard from it, which placed them right below wax figures…..ie, REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY creepy and deep inside the uncanny valley.

poor bert the bunyip used to do a bit more than slowly rise up from the water, but with a lack of maintenance, he hasn’t held up too well ^^’. my parents have had a good look at him over the years, and i hope to visit him someday too!

That bunyip is horrifying, escpecially the old one. I'm 14, and I'm usually pretty chill with horror stuff, but that thing is giving me CHILLS. Ew.
