These are the top 3 hardest bosses in Fear & Hunger.
With every boss being extremely deadly in this game, these 3 stand at the top for their raw power and unavoidable attacks.
Number 3 - The Crow Mauler. While not as tough as other bosses, his instant kill attacks have ended runs for many new and veteran players.
Number 2 - Traces of Gro-goroth. Being the final boss for ending B, this hulking Old God will decimate your entire party if not dealt with carefully.
Number 1 - Traces of Sylvian. This lesser known boss can only be fought on the Terror & Starvation and Hard Difficulties and can easily debilitate and destroy your characters in a few short turns.

Makes sense for gro-goroth and sylvan to be the hardest since they are the only two literal gods, not mere new gods but true old gods, or at least the remains of them. Personally id say the grogoroth is a lot harder than sylvian considering you have to get past the gauntlet to get to grogoroth and just the fact he does incredibly high damage even with the penance armor its a slog of a fight

What truly makes the Crowmauler hard is how early you can encounter him. Otherwise the fight becomes trivial (Red Vial and Iron Mask, or Pheromones on a Meat Shield like the Blood Golem) If it wasn't for that single factor, something as simple as the Double headed Crowmauler would take its spot

Human hydra is definitely the hardest boss That said I think the hardest enemy is elite guard and I'm not joking or anything. Most of fear and hunger enemies are puzzles that goes for all until mahabra where it changes to mostly basic rpg battles where to do most damage and heal if necessary. The moment you meet elite gaurd there's little to nothing you can do. You're not meant to defeat him but unlike Shakespeare he's extremely fast. If He cornered you. He either end or sabotage your whole run and god forbid you're alone.

Interesting question, i wonder if its because the god of depths is deceased (as seen by its dead body), so it no longer has traces capable of manifesting its powers. At the same time, we could say the darkness of the dungeon ARE his traces, we will never know. as for allmer, (POTENTIAL SPOILER?) There are theories that even if he did have traces, we wouldnt see them here as the true allmer is where F&H2's ossass comes from, and not anywhere in what looks like the england equivalent of the f&h universe

I think grogoroth is way harder cuz can't be stunned. You can actually stun whole sylvian body with locust swarm so aslong you saved enough wine vials you can deal sylvian with locust swarm + random attacker. Additionally there is no reason for stunning head so ez. Btw idk why did you put the actual crow mauler in place of the 2 headed one

More or less, yes! Limb loss is also permanent, barring some scenarios where you can gain them back at a price. The game has very little savepoints as well so most losses, party or not can turn into run enders as well. You COULD however replace dead party members with other specific playable mobs :)
