600s are usually worse to start with, a lot harder for a new rider, heavier, too fast, and often likely to cause a wreck since. 76% of motorcycle wrecks are caused by new riders

A 500 or 650cc bike can have a very manageable power output, whereas a 600cc supersport is tuned for much higher performance and can be a lot trickier for new riders.

​@@OnlyBikers-TheBestForBikers Agree it also depends, is it a small girl or a 18yo boy who think he can`t die, it might not be a good idea to go for anything larger then a 125 or 250 but for everybody els a cb500 or 650vulcan ca be a great beginner bike you don`t grow out of in a few months or get tired of it because it can`t go highway speed.

@@OnlyBikers-TheBestForBikers it totally is. it behaves like a supermotard which is = to fun. cheap to maintain and fuel economy its OK with 5L/100Km compared to 4.7L/100Km on the new one. let's say you made a positive mistake

Non New rider too, went with a 2023 KTM Duke 200 , 4100$ out the door price . Great around town , and can to do highway speeds tops out at 83mph .
