Matt Ward exemplifies the phrase "America's Finest". The man goes 25b enlisted, then Officer, max PT, helping his fellow soldiers succeed. I hope he rises to CEO of a tech company someday. Much respect!

@@HappyHermitt When I was in basic our PG was an 09S with a great amount of discipline and outward aptitude for leadership. The drill sergeants fired him from the position because he didn't max out his PT score and gave it to an engineer who did who was neither good at the role nor wanted it. They then realized they were stupid and reinstated the old PG. PT should always be important but never a standard of leadership.

If you’re looking to enlist, one thing you need to consider while watching these kinds of videos is that a lot of these factors he uses to rate the branches as best will depend on the unit you’re in. One thing he mentions a lot here is the idea of rucking a lot or spending time in the woods. For example if you’re in an infantry unit even as one of these other MOS you’re going to be held to infantry standards. So don’t expect to be a “soft skill” soldier and not still have some long, rough days.

I think a 68C (Practical Nurse Specialist) is a good choice. You get a great kickstart to a nursing career , paid for by the army! The cons are; 52 Weeks of AIT, rigorous schooling, 12 Hr shifts. Pros are; free nursing licenses, PT on your own (for most places, if you pass your initial PT test), Pride or taking care of military veterans/members/family, Experience. I became a 68C, and it’s a great choice. Just make sure you want to do nursing before you commit!

I was in the signal corp 1980-1983 as a radio teletype operator, attached to the 11th ACR in Fulda, West Germany. We worked shifts to keep our radio on the air 24/7 365. When we had the staff I'd work 3 day shifts, then get three days off. Then 3 night shifts, then 3 more days off! Most of the time I could sleep on the night shift. I was on separate rations and lived in downtown Fulda. Man, it was great duty!

I have a question. I was looking at the careers and I am going to go for 68P Radiology specialist, and I was wondering it says I will be doing (if I pick that MOS) 10 weeks of BCT and 46 weeks of AIT, but what if I have my associates and in that and I already have a job as an X-ray tech will I have to do the AIT? Thanks man your videos are supper informative. Oh! I’m going to do reserves, so does that mean I’ll go to AIT right after basic? Or will I do the AIT on the drill days if the month as a reservist?

PSYOPS in my opinion are one of the best they do some crazy stuff. Just the thought of psychological warfare scares me because we as human beings are so easy to succumb.

📋 The transportation and quartermaster branches within the Logistics Corps are the best because of all the ready civilian application. ⚕ You are right about the Medical Corps too though. P.S. 🎖 I am a current enlistee reservist in transportation logistics trying to reclass as an active duty officer in military intelligence.

Nice! Power Generation Specialist. That seems it'll have a lot of carry over. Especially if you want to do electronics after, become an electrician, or electrical engineer.

Shane Fleming yes sir , I took a 2 and 1/2 year contract I plan on re enlisting for a 12p . Once I am finished go back to college and finish my electrical engineering bachelors degree. Should only take me 2 1/2 years of college because of the college credits awarded during AIT

Definitely reclass after your first contract. I’m currently a 91D but it would be better to learn another trade unless you just Love mechanic work. For career progression and rank promotion from E4 to E5 and so forth, definitely choose another mos.

Quick question: why does every recruiter describe deployments during reserves (and one guy even described active duty like this) as “on a volunteer basis”? I know there’s the option for deployment if they ask you personally that you can deny or accept, but if your unit is called to deploy doesn’t than mean you have to go? How often does that actually happen in the reserves?
@GoDaveGo
@GoDaveGo 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are mandatory. The Army Reserve houses logistics soldiers. The Active Duty Army does not have enough logistics to support itself, so the Reserve is deployed accordingly. The Army National Guard is a complete organization-combat arms and support-so they also deploy. And the state can call you up if you are National Guard. So it’s tough on a civilian career, but has perks.
