Thank you for your reply. Could you able to suggest any simple home remedies like massage or something i can do on my own without medication to get rid of my dry eye issue after cataract surgery.

It's always best to get formally evaluated to see exactly what the cause of your dryness or irritation may be, but generally artificial tears (pres free) without Rx and warm compresses are easy options to start with. I've made a few videos about causes and treatments of dry eye and evaluating the ocular surface, so maybe some of those will be helpful as well? good luck!

What is warm compresses for eyes, how it has to be done and how many times a day.
@cohenlaservision
@cohenlaservision 20 күн бұрын
Warm compresses are heated bags or cloth that is draped over each closed eye with mild pressure. This allows the Meibomian gland contents to soften and be expressed more easily to treat evaporative dry eye. I usually recommend 10 minutes of sustained heat 2x daily for most patients, but each patient’s regimen may be varied depending on severity or individual needs.

What is the solution for dry eye issue after cataract surgery.
@cohenlaservision
@cohenlaservision 23 күн бұрын
Fortunately, the vast majority of dry eye symptoms after cataract surgery are mild and short lived, usually a few months or so. There are many options depending on the type and severity, from lubricants, plugs, steroids, immune modulators, etc.

hello doctor, nice to meet you i've been diagnosed with cataracts on my both eye, because of my long time use of Corticosteroid "methylpredinsolone" because om my autoimmune disorder "pemphigus vulgaris" and i also have a question regarding IOL, how long does it take for our eyes until the IOL permanently attached into our eye after surgery ? Anda mengirim plus the final question, because of my autoimmune, is it better to Have The Cataract on Central Eye Hospital in city centre, or going into local hospital is enough since im living in countryside ? and the last of all, thank you for your time reading this question doctor. 😊 im 28 years old and living alone
@cohenlaservision
@cohenlaservision 21 күн бұрын
Sorry you got cataracts so young, but steroids can unfortunately be a cause at long or high doses. Generally the IOL settles into the capsular bag in a few days, and truly "anchors" in within about a month or so, but the IOL doesn't move at all generally after initial implantation. Usually, you won't need a hospital system to perform cataract surgery. However, given you autoimmune issues, I would get the procedure with a surgeon who has the ability and resources to treat complications that might be related to your autoimmune condition, so a city hospital may be worthwhile. Good luck!

If you receive monofocal lenses, you will need reading glasses to see up close. I made a video about lens options also if you have further questions. We went to Bali for our honeymoon! Magical and beautiful island 🏝️ 🥰

What about bluriness several months after surgery, is it always dry eye?
@cohenlaservision
@cohenlaservision 24 күн бұрын
Not necessarily. Could be a few things: residual refractive error, swelling of the cornea or retina, dry eye, PCO, etc. Best to check with your doc and see why vision isn't clear.

@@cohenlaservision What does PCO stand for ?
@cohenlaservision
@cohenlaservision 9 күн бұрын
@@wsdwsd5092 "posterior capsule opacification". It's a clouding of the capsule due to growth of residual cataract cells from the original lens. Can be treated in-office in about 1 min with a laser.

Hello, I had the procedure and woke up with sharp, stabbing pain and liquid squirting out of my eye ,my surgeon has no answer for it ,would you know why I experienced pain
@cohenlaservision
@cohenlaservision 20 күн бұрын
Sorry you experienced this. Usually sharp pain and tearing immediate surgery is due to a corneal scratch or abrasion, which usually heals in a few days. if the pain doesn’t subside then definitely get another checkup

@@cohenlaservision Thank you for responding. The pain only lasted 5 seconds, and my vision in this eye is zero for the short-range reading. As for my other eye lens exchange, I had no pain, and my vision for medium to long range is great. I have had two checkups since the surgeon blamed my low dry eye for interfering with poor reading vision. Had another checkup with an optometrist. They said the lens strength is too weak, and dry eye is minimal. Any thoughts? be appreciated

@@wsdwsd5092 Did you get a monofocal lens in each eye? It's possible the second eye is a bit farsighted and thus you have even less reading than the other eye, which may be slightly offset for myopia. Dry eye can affect vision, but usually wouldn't affect near more than distance.
@wsdwsd5092
@wsdwsd5092 20 күн бұрын
@@cohenlaservision Yes, multifocal. The right eye is for the medium range to far, which was great from day one. I can read from medium range. The left eye is for short range, and the reading of words is blurry/hazy.My eye is not sore or scratchy
@cohenlaservision
@cohenlaservision 19 күн бұрын
@@wsdwsd5092 So you received multifocal implants but each eye doesn't have a full range of vision? It sounds like you have EDOF or monofocal lenses targeted for blended vision, and the reading eye likely isn't targeted close enough for fine print. Did you get a formal refraction? Do you have your lens cards with the implant details?
