I went with the acheron version. I use it as an ally for my salamanders. Its ability helps outside of their detachments.

I love running a pair of war glaives with my black templars, I painted them as House Mortan to keep it lore friendly for epic melee

I was encouraged to pick knights for my starter faction when i decided to enter this game, and i already feel bad for the castellan/valiant. All the lists I've seen are Crusader / Valiant or double Cerastus knight lancer with armiger and helverin support with the assassin.

The Castellan has won quite a bit it's pretty good but they killed my boy the valiant. Why... With the overwatch nerf, the devastating wound nerf and the point increase it's a lot...

I honestly haven’t played them since the last major Nerf, which sent them from a top-five army down to the bottom. Our armigers are basically trash compared to chaos knights and our average at best. But if I’m picking, I guess my top three units would be Crusader, Canis Wrecks, and Castigator.

What are you top 5 Imperial Knight Units in 10th Edition?

Helverins are ok if you take 3 and slap the stratagem for +1 strength and +1 ap, s10 is a must nowadays. You didn't include the most competitive knight, cheaper and still better than the others for some reason canis rex. +2 save, a better melee weapon than the full melee knight and a pretty good 3dmg weapon that actually has ap, and the if you kill me i poop a character out mechanic. My list would be : -canis rex -crusader -callidus assassin -eversor assassin -warglaive You kinda need at least one assassin to play the game, and i think 3 big knights is a must for a competitive list in the actual meta. For armigers you have to go chaos they have better rules and they can go through walls so way better for trading.

Where do you see that "Lay Low the Tyrant" has been changed to the text "a single hit roll" and "a single wound roll" because my 10th edition codex still reads "a hit roll of one" and "a wound roll of one" and the september dataslate does not have this change that you have listed in it. In fact, the foreign translations of lay low the tyrant specify "all wound and hit rolls of 1" and the only official ruling I can find online that says otherwise was decided by a tournament director in a major.

that was longer ago. first dataslate in 10th i think. But imo it was clear beforhand, cause it was ridiculously op, especially compared to the other option.

It's in the Imperial Knights specific FAQ/Errata not the Balance Dataslate (helpfully!) LAY LOW THE TYRANT ■ Oath Ability: Each time this model is selected to shoot or fight, re-roll a single Hit roll of 1 and re-roll a single Wound roll of 1

@@christophbloch7169 That might have been true before September. But with the Titanic nerf, the bondsman nerf, and all of the stratagem nerfs we just took this change would be crippling. Most tournaments run without this rule and Knights are currently a bottom 5 faction with a 44% winrate.

The definitive word "A" means "ONE", in this case. If they meant ALL they would swap to "any" hit roll(s) of one.
