CORRECTION: Can't use the Mythic Hero enhancement as it specifies Questoris only. No major loss really as it's probably not really a good target for it anyway (at least in my opinion!)

Me and my friend play tested our knights with a stand in for the Lancer and if that thing gets into melee with anything its dead, in one turn of combat the Lancer charged and smashed a Paladin knight, next combat it was charged by a Errant with a Thunderstrike Gauntlet and that shield saved two of the three wounds and the Lancer then killed the Errant in one go, it took massed heavy weapons fire to put it down in the end. So if you want one get it and go after the enemy Heros or Heavy Infantry like Terminators and they will melt.

I think that attaching one as an ally may be really good since it can counter other knights and vehicles while being very solid, the knight stratagems aren't great on it and you only really lose the advance and charge which is sad but it's already pretty fast and some deployment zones might still give it a turn one charge.

I feel like this model’s performance/points will be good out of the box and then it’ll get nerfed into oblivion after the first couple of tournaments. Imperial Knights rarely stay buffed very long in an edition before getting squished due to complaints.

Knights deserve everything bad. They are dumb, toxic models which dont belong in a game like 40k.

Time to find some good STLs for the Castigator/Acheron/Atrapos guns I guess. After GW went and consolidated both the Dominus and Armiger kits to match the Questoris it feels like a step backwards to not do a combined Cerastus kit. It's a lot of sprues but for the price of a launch box, it better be.

Try Ghamak or solwyte for original ones. If you're converting from a questoris you could use the centaur legs from maker's cult and bits from taro modelmaker or ironwolf. Then you'll have some original builds without feeding the parasitic scum that steal other people's art for recasting.

You might find it easier to get the Acheron kit and instead kitbash the shield and spear. I think they’d be easier to pull off than gun barrels, receivers, magazines, and ammo feeds.

I kinda get the lancer being a different kit than the shooting tallboys since one of the big marketing things is how posable they are and you'll likely have a different stance for your guns and your lance. If the two gun ones end up being separate kits, that would be the one that annoys me.

Oh I am ABSOLUTELY going to run one of these for my upcoming Chaos night army. One Lancer and an entire 1500 points of War Dogs. The list will be called "Cry Havoc". Was originally going to run an Abominant as the main knight but this has officially changed who I want to have as my War Dogs' "handler".

I run 2x Lancers, 6x warglaives, and 1x moirax w lightning locks (sits on back point) The 2x lancers can turn 1 activate their bonsman for advance & charge and charge across the board. I find having the 2 of them is what makes it an effective strat. the warglaives that are bonsman'd don't use the advance and charge as they just want to shoot t1

Played Knights for the first time this evening. I am getting a Lancer, and think it will be a great unit to get up in the opponent’s face, draw loads of punishment from my other units, and rip up anything it touches. I just need to see what my Atrapos can do now!

Something really inefficient but funny you can do with it, is use the 1 CP strat to give it precision. Letting you slam attacks down into someones warlord, if it's important enough to.

I use a Lancer and Atropos in my regular list, and they perform great. The lancer particularly is very ‘points effective’. 40 or so wounds off the charge including the free tank shock along with a 4+ invun is hard to argue with. Delivered by the bondsman advance and charge or from reserves makes him pretty threatening. He’s always my MVP.

I feel as though the main place for a Cerastus Knight will unironically be as a Chaos ally to tech into every army like Brigands. Quite literally a big timmy that any army can take, something Chaos specifically doesn't have a lot of (Unless you're World Eaters). A 465pt distraction carnifex that can rip apart your opponent's christmas gift models without flinching to boot? Yes please. Night Lords players gonna flip when they see this

Unless you go to tournaments then I'm pretty sure you could make the shield out of sprue. I've done a bunch of games with my gallant as a sub. It's towering anyway so I've not met anyone who cares.

As Sisters I've been wondering if this guy is a good solution to the total lack of a way to effectively deal with the heaviest threats out there. I was more interested before the points nerf, now I'm weighing some of the other knights and not as sure.

He’s a massive distraction, if nothing else. If they don’t shoot the Lancer, it gets to their front lines (and Sisters should be able to clear a screen to make a hole for it). If they DO shoot the Lancer, they’re not shooting your transports and threat units. Classic Distraction Carnifex.

IMO it would be your best choice. The 4++ is so great to have on a Knight. Canis Rex is good, having the big gun at S14 Damage 4 and powerfist. But his shots are swingy as you would likely want his free CP for a reroll charge not shots most of the time. Errant is that bit cheaper. But again the Melta Cannon can swing and only wounds T12 on a 4+ without any rerolls for ones to hit and wound he isn't as strong for an ally. Again all just my opinion man.

Now that we’re getting this in plastic, does that mean in the future we can see this in the regular codex? I’ve been burned on a few Forge World and Horus Heresy models that have moved to Legends in other armies.

I've just pre-ordered one to be the anti-tank for my Sisters. I don't even care if it's not good :D All I want to do is charge in, Tank Shock my mates Hive Tyrant, then stab it in the face. I'm excited lol. If I can make it a bog problem to take the heat off my squishy infantry for a turn, then all the better.

Why can’t the knight use advance and charge if it’s not within range of an armiger? The ability activates and once activated you can pick and armiger in range. It doesn’t need an armiger in range.

You cant use mysterious guardians or mythic hero on him because he is not a questoris but a cerastus.

Mysterious Guardian doesn't have a questoris restriction, so he can still deepstrike and get the 8" charge if you take the movement vow

I'm getting 2 because I collect chaos knights and have at least 2 of everyone. But reckon a list of 2 of these with a bunch of Karnivores and a couple of Stalkers would be a super fast army that will definitely create treat overload from turn 2.
