Good tips. Would you say these are for live play too as well as online? Do you think it's possible to improve your game only having about 12-15 hours available per week to play, strictly playing live?
@joelmcc88

You playing playing roughly 15 hands an hour live that's roughly 200ish a week. You can play that in 30 minutes online. Your progression will be a lot slower

It is difficult but doable. The best way to do it IMO is to have a network of friends. You can also check out www.upswingpoker.com/thelab. It's a full course where Doug and I explain how we play the game. It also includes access to our facebook group with over 1,000 members and would be a great place to meet like minded people.

My personal poker rules: 1) Stay within bankroll limits, 2) Don't tilt, 3) Don't chase losses 4) Stick to lower variance games such as NLHE rather than Omaha or BigO, 5) Remember its just a game, don't take it too seriously!

Hotsauce is Lethal Dont tilt ?! Thats one sentence no exist, no take me wrong but thats sounds so ridiculous to me. The game has so many ups and downs and not only this aspect that make the tiltness mood controling NOT sustenaible so far. its not easy like only said for yourself when wake up - "today I'll no getting in tilt!" . Blaaah.. dealing with rise from inside is on lay the difference . What u think about it, Fee ? By the way Im from Brazil...emotional runs free through in our veins, so far, tiltting is normal for us , don't freak out is the law limit ..lol

Fantastic Video Ryan. Especially Goal 5. Poker is such a fascinating game, but it is still only a game. I'd also suggest that everyone take a break each hour, get up, stretch your legs. Sitting and staring at a computer screen all day is really unhealthy

Hello Ryan! I started play poker seriously in mid november 2016 but my bankroll is still very poor and I don't consider myself like capable to archive big goals. I'm still grinding NL2 because I started from zero € and despite I've been lucky in freerolls tournaments and in MTT in general, in NL2 my winrate (90K sample) it's only 7 BB/100 hand and more important, my bankroll it's just 190 € not yet the 50 BI for NL5. Well, the question is, when do you honestly consider it could be worth joining the upswing lab? I wouldn't believe if you say at any level, at least I would consider if you say something like my earnings in poker are something like 10 times the price. Anyways I apreciate your work and I've view almost all of your videos and downloaded all the free stuff and even the postflop engine.

You did everything right. Sometimes you lose a lot with AA, but mostly you win big in the long run.

tip 6: take breaks. either a week every couple months or just take weekends off
@tipsy09

so true. i went to vegas recently for two weeks. the first 4-5 days were horrendous, big hands getting slaughtered, the next 4-5 days complete turnaround and was finally up. i then took most of a day off to do some things and see rogue one but didn't feel like that was enough of a break; after rogue one i went and played and had my last winning session. i only had 3 days left in vegas so i wanted to see how much further this upswing could go BUT i knew i was tired because i had been playing a lot. when i look back at the trip, not taking a full day or two break is probably my biggest regret.

This is so true! Pause moments are soooooooo crucial. A simple walk or just break from tubing in. I used to go take a walk and bang out as many pushups as I could (yes where ever I was this was great bc I would get my attention off what I was thinking and also because would just look at me weird which is fine by me) get a drink a water take a deep breath before returning....I think I will start doing that again. Thanks for the reminder!
