Have you tried Midway to see if they have any mags? I haven't bought anything from them in the past few years though. Around 2017, I ordered 2 -16rnd Mecgar mags to go with the 2 that came with my CZ-75BD. Just about everywhere I checked, the price for these mags were between $39.00 - &49.00 each. I believe Midway's price was about $20.00 - $25.00, same brand Mecgar. At the same time, I ordered 4- 8rnd Promags for my S&W 39A. These model 39A were issued a lot during Vietnam and had steel slides and aluminum frames. The only place I could find them was on Ebay and everybody thought they must've been made from gold judging by the asking prices.. I wasn't about to pay $45.00- $65.00 for a 8 round mag. Midway had several Promag versions for about $10 - $15 each. They had magas for just about every firearm you could think of and their prices beat most other places by a long shot. I just wanted to throw it out there so maybe it will help. Cheers

I think the most underrated gun is the MAC 10/MAC 11 pistols. The biggest complaint about them is that they are ugly, but what mature gun owner chooses a gun based on looks? The MAC pistols have basically turned into the AR15 of pistols in terms of how modular they are. You can switch out uppers just like you can on an AR15. There are even 5.56 uppers for MAC 10/MAC 11 pistols. Several different stocks, from folding, fixed, collapsible etc. I am actually surprised they are not more popular. I would honestly pick a MAC pistol over an MP5 or an UZI. Yes I said it, and if I had to choose between the three, I'd pick a MAC and not think twice about it. As for this list, I've never thought the Mini 14 was underrated, and it is my favorite rifle. Although I do prefer the older Mini 14 that people claim was junk. I think the worst thing they did to the Mini 14 was get rid of the big front sight. That big shark fin looking front sight is way better than the new front sight they use. I can understand Ruger using a thicker barrel, but changing the front sight ruined it for me. I just think it was much easier to stay on target with the old sight, and it gave a clearer field of view. It is like the new front sight gives me tunnel vision, and I just don't like it compared to the old sight.

If they were still in current production, SKS would be up there. Grew up seeing all the surplus ones, but never had much interest until they skyrocketed in price during the surplus craze. Went in my local shop for ammo and they had a really nice Chinese Type 56 for 500. It was all matching, stock had some noticeable wear but the rest of the gun was very clean. It looked very Russian despite being a Type 56, and turns out with some more digging that's because it's a 1956 production rifle, back when the Soviets were helping produce the first batches in the Jianshe Arsenal, so it lacks all the later markings and just has a numerical serial number, darker wood and a blade style bayonet. Shot it for the first time yesterday, and damn it is really nice. Trigger beats out all my other military style triggers minus the SIG 550 trigger. Its stock lends to a far superior, more consistent sight picture than the AK (seriously, I fucking hate the standard pattern AK stocks) and loading the thing with stripper clips was like butter. Accuracy was ever so slightly better than my AK, but nothing spectacular, like 2.5-3 MOA at 100 yards, but still pretty good for as cheap and old as it was. Compared to my Steyr 1912 and other stripper clip fed guns I've loaded, SKS is the only one I could see reloading as fast as a magazine. Did not think my 500 dollar Chinese garbage rod would turn out to be one of my favorites. I also just don't see SKS fanboys out there like you see it's contemporaries. Definitely the most underrated gun I've ever bought.

@sgthop2 жыл бұрын
I am super not a fan of the 509. They're reliable enough, but the trigger on them is somehow worse than Glock and the fit and finish was atrocious on the two that I owned. The gap between the slide and frame was massive, and would be an ingress point for dirt and fouling. I liked some of the features, but the gun itself felt cheap. An updated FNS would have been much better.
@chrisbaker9782 жыл бұрын
@@sgthop I respect your opinion brother. But you should know this, the gap as you call it(loose tolerances) is what allows the gun to function more reliably. The tighter tolerances on pistols such as 1911s is what causes them to seize up from dirt. The more space the easier it is to function and clear out the debree. I’ve had several and the finish on all mine is superb. I’m content with the trigger. Not the best or worst. But the combination of features, pricing, and overall quality is very good to me. FN is ahead of their time.
@sgthop2 жыл бұрын
@@chrisbaker978 It would be one thing if they were all uniform, but none of the 509s I've seen have had the same gap, either, which leads me to bring up the poor manufacturing tolerances again. The 1911 comparison isn't exactly fair, as the 1911 uses full length rails. A more apt comparison would be the P320 or G17, both of which are incredibly reliable and do not have half-millimeter gaps in their frame that you can see through. The only thing the 509 has going for it is a nice optics mounting solution, other than that it's just a mediocre striker fired handgun.

The mini is insanely underrated. My first rifle was one of the newer mini 14 ranch models, with the same furniture as the one in the video. Not only does the gun cycle beautifully, but it’s pretty damn accurate. The trigger is also without a doubt one of the lightest, most crisp pulls right out of the box. Being legal in all 50 states also makes it well worth not being quite as modular as the AR platform

Parents had a PX4 Storm Subcompact. They got rid of it due a critical failure. Last round loaded 3/4 of the way into the barrel and jammed on the magazine follower. The slide was jammed in position. We could not eject the mag due to the follower. The follower had apparently gotten above the slide lock bar that is suppose to sit above the magazine follower. Somehow got under the follower. We had to take a hammer and punch to the slide to knock it back off the follower then take a screw driver to tilt the follower off the slide stop to then remove the magazine. Trip home from the range had the round stuck 1/4 out of the chamber. Never had that happen before on any other firearm, but that was the second trip to the range for that gun. It was a 40 S&W.

I have owned 2 Kel-Tec 3AT in the past ( first was 2003 ) and they are flawless, never jammed with good to high quality ammo. What you are doing wrong with that gun is never put more than 6 rounds total in that gun, One ( 1 ) in chamber and 5 in mag. if you put 1 in chamber and 6 in mag, the top 6th round in mag is too tight up against the bottom of the slide block and it tends to jam after the first round is fired. Second... is i use to cut down / file down ( its Plastic / polymer ) to flush against frame the mag release button. it tended to pop out the mag in my pocket. its fine when flush and you push in good with your thumb to eject mag. Its the best pocket gun ever!!!!! .380ACP !!!! not .22lr not .25acp not .32acp. " Dice Game Defender" I like that one James
