Would love to see a deeper dive into Disciples of Tzeentch! I am pretty new to AoS, and even newer to Tzeentch so it's hard to get to grips with such a unique book. Was just chatting with one of my buddies last night about how I didn't know what I was doing wrong with my lists.

For the pity battle tactic, I really think that it was more justified for the Orruk Warclans, as they have the same amount of battle tactics as in other tome, but a single clan could only do two of them (3 if they have Kragnos and the opponent have a terrain feature).

Nice vid and I agreed with most of it, but I just wanted to point out that Grave guard have seen a 20 point increase since the battle-tome released, and they’re in nearly every list because SBGL have basically no other dedicated hammer units. They’re also very slow and have no save. Any more points and they’ll start to become too much of a tax, as they’re generally required in 20’s to be an effective dedicated hammer.

Yep, they are the only hammer in my legion of night list, hit on 4, wound on 3. 6s to wound do a mortal. It’s very variable, oh and you have to make a 9 inch charge when it pops up from the grave… so 🙏

Exactly. I think people who don’t play with them sometimes bemoan their cost vs potential damage, but miss out the fact that they are incredibly slow, fragile and quiet hard to use. Often I have them shot off the board, failing charges or being smacked in the face before I’ve had a chance to do anything with them. If they go up by much more they simply won’t be worth it and we’ll be an army without a functioning dedicated hammer unit.

Not sure I agree that Kruleboyz or Ironjawz are going to be strong, but I definitely rate big Waaagh! super highly at the moment. Gitz have been falling a bit in the stats lately too, but that might just be that the matchups vs OBR and SBGL is tough for them. They also lack tools to reach over enemy lines effectively. Definitely agree that they're somewhere near the top though.

Absolutely nailed Slaanesh. Pointed based on abilities they might not hit until there's not much left and summoning that typically won't get used. Still having lots of fun with the book, but I really wish Invaders and Godseekers had more gas in the tank.

Went 4 wins 1 draw in a 20 person competition against some very good players this weekend, even tabled giants, skaven is one of those armies that can be amazing, just takes some practice and careful planning, it’s a has terrible battle tactics so scoring is hard and ya army will be blown away in a gentle breeze so ya gotta go hard on killing the enemy and get up early, it’s an army with a hard learning curve and very unforgiving if you make mistakes from army creation and play

Could you please give me some advice. Im begginer in AOS and i choose Skaven for 1st army 😅 i painted good amount of rats and in 2 weeks im gonna play my first Tournament (1000points). I played only 2 games before 1k and 2k. 2k was awesome and i even won but in 1k I have a feeling that i cant fit aby real threating combination. I combo the deceiver and warbringer so all the buffers go into the warbringer and he gets teleported up field. I use a lot of acolytes with an engineer for warpsparks I use clan rats to deep strike warpfire throwers with warpgrinders so I get within 6 Anvil is ogors and giant rats with a moulder.

Plaguebearers are an absolute terror now. While it requires you to put in The Glottkin + x number of PB's, they will be so much worse than zombies, oh I just charged into your entire army, keeping everything just within 3, except one unit ,5" away and now you'll just sit there until you retreat.

I would faster say that Nighthaunt have problem with holding objectives instead of doing battle tactic. Very easy to make 3/5 without looking at the enemy and still quite easy to have 5/5.

Which is weird for Tzeentch because the horrors are a really unique unit that doesn't exist anywhere else. I'd think I'd think if they bring them down a bit again they'd be good. Because it is a good unit, just too expensive. Maybe try them out at 230 for the fun of it and see where tzeentch lands. Thank god Krondspine is dead

Sadly Sylvaneth got a huge nerf when they changed Battlemages with the new CoS book. They no longer are able to give the +2 to charge and so now it's if Spiteswarm doesn't go off you're a sitting duck. I'd say they're a B-tier army now seeing as their two tricks were nerfed. Teleport in, charge, strike and fade is a huge gamble now, and they nerfed Warsong Bomb a bit too. I've seen a lot of luck with ranged teams though and they seem to be coming up a lot more.

I have all chaos armies. Khorne is Nuts, but I think Nurgle need be after Bonereapers because he have tools for ALL. He have a bit of magic or anti magic, he have monster, he have shootingm he have combat, he have Speed thanks to the DR of LOA and Gutrot. When I go to events, I pick Nurgle and I'm the shield like always. I can do a list who no one can counter me in any way. I only lost 1 game of 18, and no ties, beign the shield. I thinks nurgle have a lot of hidden potential what other armies don't have. And I'm usually a khorne player, but I feel equal consistent Nurgle. I still remember when the rotmire creed come out. Nobody play it but i go with 20 of them and 2 of demon Fly, plus one summoned. Bro I have in my memory the faces when i shoot them like 100 shots with a nurgle army and literally give like 40 infections thanks to the old spread hability of the rotmire xD. No sense. It changed a bit, but still having the control of my games when I play them.

Think you underestimated tzeentchs ability to walk a lil dweeb with cult demagogue slowly up the board behind a stack of horrors and just kill things with zero chance for your opponent to do anything about it. I did 183 mortals with it at a 2 day tournament just before battlescroll. The rest I agree with 🙂

I sort of feel bad for plopping put my skeletons on objectives turn one and basically having an immovable meat (bone?) Shield the entire game. And if they die they can come back. And heal both combat phases. People are sleeping hard on the skeletons and they really deserve a heavy points increase (i like the rules very thematic) maybe no healing during opponents turn? Thats a bit much fuck

You can't use destiny dices for units that doesnt have the disciple of tzeentch keyword. But Tzeentch keyword means you can shield of fate those units.

So I realized this not to long ago but coalition units don't benefit from Destiny dice. Only units with the DISCIPLES OF TZEENTCH keyword get it. Coalition units just get the Tzeentch keyword.

Gitz recursion via the loonshrine is barely worth mentioning as it is unreliable as fuck being 1 unit at the end of the Gitz players turn on a 4+. Turn 1 probably won't get to roll for a unit unless you went and fed something like a unit of sportsplatta turn 1 and you went 2nd. Turn 5 getting something out you don't even get to play with what you might have brought back (to reiterate it is a single 4+ roll) besides sitting on an objective within 12" of the shrine. Very risky to play your turn 5 relying on a 50/50 roll at the end of your turn. In addition, the shrine can be killed by a monstrous rampage turning off the recursion altogether. You could lean into it with the re-roll and additional roll but I would not be investing in that personally over the better subfaction and other abilities, especially when it only really comes in to use 3 out of 5 turns. Honestly would not be sad if they removed the recursion altogether and brought back some other buff to the shrine like the old no battleshock within 12" or give +1/+2 bravery within 12".

Honestly, skaven can beat any of the other factions, but you need to mix and match clans. I typically run every clan in my lists. Clanrats are great at wasting my opponents time, skryre are the ranged damage dealers, pestilens and moulder absolutely wreck shit in melee, and Gutterrunners are a good harassment unit. The problem is that, skaven have garbage grand strategies and once the melee punch is spent, you have better got good value because you can't bring them back like so many other horde armies

The games I lost I learned lots (only my second tournament, both with bonesplitterz). The most recent FAQ was used in this tournament, but couldnt edit the list, so blizzard wasn't as fun with the maniak, but did help in one game. @@BonzaiBomber I didnt find emerald lifeswarm as helpful as it should be with one prophet. If you decide to, I'd say do double prophet and take the lifeswarm. Find MSU better for scoring the battle tactics, so I'd recommend splitting the maniak up (obviously that will change the drops, so adjust accordingly).

I'm surprised Night haunts so low. With the absolute stacking of mega debuffs. Ethereal, Fast movement, fly, High damage and the ability to be respawned/buffed. I've never seen a bat rep go bad in the hands of a nigh haunt player. And I've never seen in person, one do badly in a game without simply making the absolute worst mistakes possible.

I personally find worst to play against 84 squigherds than any starborne or whatever list you may want to compare I don't even rate starborne as a top tier army I mean, ok on paper they are super good but in fact they can't play against other top armies. They have an hard counter in squigherds, in NM , in khorne , and basically they struggle in primary scoring against any Horde army Now that they can't even efficiently use and incarnate It Is even easier Their Castle Is paper, no survivability at all But a part from seraphon i tend to agree with everything else Thank you for the contents!

its okay to be wrong i guess..... When only 3 armies counter your army and the rest collapse to them then they are strong. PERIOD.

Conspiracy Theory: I think Flesh Eater Courts as a separate faction will be squatted A few of their models will be absorbed into the Avengorii dynasty part of the Soulblight Gravelords book while the rest are gone Same for some of the army rules being stripped down and streamlined into the Avengorii subfaction rules Thats why we havent gotten a book on the FEC yet In my conspiratorial opinion On a side note: I would put Hedonites in "A" tier, but otherwise your tier list lines up with mine for this season

Future meta is GW release bonkers stuff that wrecks the game and then 4th ed comes out and bans it all. Why gitz aren't S tier -> they die if you look at them and their bravery is guff so they then peg it away in droves. Most characters are as survivable as paper soaked in gasoline around a naked flame.
