Man finding out a mod creator got conscripted into the Russian (or Ukrainian) military is very depressing, its very possible that he may never come back to modding as he may suffer for years after he comes back and hopefully he comes back at all.

There is military malpractice, so "normally" you are supposed to be conscripted for training only, and only mobilized people are in the hot zones. However how it is in reality, nobody fully knows and there's always a chance of a "bad assignment". In any case there's no point to argue about it, we can just wish them luck and for the horrors to end as soon as it is possible in our current reality.

Those are not the only militaries that conscript people. Finland, Singapore, South Korea, Israel, and Switzerland all have mandatory military or civil service for men when they turn 18.

The schizophrenia trait mod adds in false jumpscares and sounds that can really throw you off and hallucinations of zombies that make you panic but disappear the second you get close to them. I think it'd be much creepier if the zombie banging at your door in the middle of the night vanished into thin air the second you try to kill them.

Two more mods I'd add to this are Save our Station and CDDA Zombies. SOS has a chance to make the Emergency Broadcast station stop working, and you'll have to go to a specific radio tower somewhere on the map to restore it. CDDA adds new types of zombies, from reanimating the dead, to alerting others etc. Both make the Darkness is coming and some of the others listed in this much more scary.

Night Sprinters = on The Darkness is Coming = on (with sprinters when dark) Zombie Population = Very High (urban focused) Brita's Weapon Pack = on Still I cower in my base in fear of being found and overwhelemd by sprinters. But it really adds to the terrifying feel of the game that was not possible with the vanilla version

The vanilla zombie sounds are scary to me lol, but TLoU sounds are also creepy AF. The AoM skins are pretty rad too. Also, "Here They Come" is a good alternative to "Horde Night" it basically does the same thing.

Think its called Lingering Whispers, it adds a very small chance for zombies to "talk" (pieced together sentences via text, "Are you there?" "Help" etc) and a rare chance for them to "shout". Its pretty easy to forget you have it on then have a zombie try to bash down a door as they ask for help or say they are in pain

I hate the jumpscare noises so much that I disabled them. I don't need a SOUND to scare the crap out of me. If any modder is reading this, here's a suggestion: Silent Hill Radios. I don't know how it'd be done, but basically radios turn static the closer you are to zombies, so if you are the kind that likes to carry around a radio, and it starts making sounds, they'd hear it. This would prompt more of a use to wear headphones, or perhaps to set sound traps with radios that lure zombies to a spot. Would fit together with the other SH themed mods! I guess in terms of mods what I'd like to really have, is something akin or RE's Nemesis or Tyrant that also kills Zombies but is hunting you.

Gonna be hilarious if they make a huge sprawling underground map, and then a false-tile on the surface that the player can "No clip" through. Might get a broken leg on entry, but it'd still be a clever way of handling the mod.

I want a mod that adds something like TLOU spores in random areas, forcing me to wear a gas mask to avoid infection. This would be great for basements, as they'd be dark and as you shine your flashlight you'd see dust particles, and when the dust is a yellowish tint you're nearing the spores which means you can't go further without a mask or you will be infected. It would make for some interesting exploration to lock things behind required items like lock picking or spores. I just don't want it to be everywhere. So many games force you to wear them all the time, I don't like that. I only want to wear them now and then, when needed. Even having you need to wear one because of extremely dusty areas to prevent coughing, or getting sick. Basements have a lot of potential. Darkness, and heavy dust causing low visibility, adding reverb to the zombies to make the sounds echo down the halls. Oh man I hope it reaches it's full potential.

The schizophrenia mod is pretty good for random jumpscares, it comes with meds that greatly reduces the chance of a hallucination, so it's not terribly unbalanced. Not recommended for muiltiplayer however.

I can't guarantee they'll all work together, I'd advise caution using any mods that edit the same stuff. For example, Sun Sensitive Zombies might not work with The Darkness Is Coming because they both change zombie behavior.

I want to say, I tried the Afraid of Monsters animations on the current build and i didnt copy over the zombie_death and zombie_enddeath animation files and i killed a few zombies and none t-posed or did the ball scrunching up thing.

Idk why i worded this the way i did. I did a lot of moving files and i thought this was how i got it to work. Im on the server now playing with the animations and i moved the actual individual files of the mod into the zomboid zombie animation folder and that works. Otherwise you lose the animations for death and stuff.

Nothing really interesting in these mods. I'm missing some kind of extra zombies. Like a boss zombies, which you can kill only with firearms. At least, that would add some difficulty and extra reason to search for loot. But sadly in end game all zombies become boring, when you have bunch of weapons.
