Aussie bushwalker here. A good tip for walking in warm weather is to freeze some water i.e. a bottle of water the night before. It will gradually thaw out during the day and will be lovely and cool for quite some time.

Just one old lady on social security who subscribed to your channel. I can’t always read the two different size fonts in your written information. My eyes focus more slowly now and you take the writing down before I can read it all. Your other fans probably don’t have this proble. I watch on my tv with a streaming device. I send this comment on a small iPad. I really enjoy your videos. I cant travel now, and your videos are a treat. Thanks for them. Just one critical note. Probably the only one.

As you get older it's very true that the descents are much harder on the joints and muscles than going up. I've not taken that route for about 30 years but feel inspired to do it once more. You had a great day for the walk and were very sensible to go up early. Thanks for another great video.

Such a beautiful day for it! I hear you on the crowds that the summit train can provide, but from where I live in the US, the lack of public transit access to the great outdoors can often be disheartening. The idea of a little ride up to the top of the highest peak -- or maybe even taking it halfway so you still get to stretch your legs -- is DREAMY.

Well done to both of you. And Alicja, you are a rock star, doing the downhill portion and not spilling a drop of your coffee. I'm in awe. Thanks, as always, for sharing. Have a great week!

I did Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) for the first time via the Llanberis path in 2017 when I was 67. The thing I was not expecting was how busy it was. I never in my wildest dreams thought there would be so many people on their way to the top of a mountain 😄 I would like to go back and climb it by another path, but being 74 now, I'm not sure that I am still fit enough. I do enjoy watching others attempt the ascent. Good job both of you. Wales is amazing 👍

I did the Snowdon horseshoe (via Crib goch and round to Llewedd)a few years ago. From Crib goch to the flank of Snowdon there was hardly anyone about. Then as I approached Snowdon summit it was like walking into a busy supermarket, because of all the people that take the train. It surprised me as well! 100 yards further on from the summit and the rest of the route, it was quiet again.

The Rhyd Ddu path is one of the best routes up and its also one of the quieter ones! Good choice! I like the fact the railway makes the mountain top accessible for people who couldn't physically walk up, but at the same time a lot of people use it as the lazy option and miss out on so much. The great thing about Snowdonia is that there are a lot of other peaks with views of Yr Wyddfa and non of the crowds. If you think that was busy you should see it at lunchtime on a weekend. There are literally people queuing to take a selfie on the summit

What a great hike and looks like you chose the right path and the time of day too! I quite like the idea of mountain railways etc to get to summits; yes, it makes it busy but you get facilities and it means those who wouldn’t otherwise see the summit can get there. If you want to see this sort of infrastructure done well, go to Switzerland where there are cable cars / funiculars and mountain railways everywhere :)

...really a worthwhile watch... reminds me of many a tour in the lower alps (where I grew up)... the stony paths can be tricky - an ankle is quickly twisted, if you don't pay attention. The views were majestic, and the weather was with you. A bit sad though that they put the final train stop and cafe right on the top... which could be reserved for aah's and ooh's, admiring the peak without hustle-bustle... it could have been placed just out of sight and noise from the peak... however, sigh... and as it is of course, it allows also people with walking difficulties to have the peak experience! 😎 I still find it sometimes hard to believe, that there are guys cycling down!! 🚲😅

Yep we always put butter on Welsh cakes, same with Bara Brith, we like butter on everything! 🤣Rhyd Ddu path is the perfect path for early September, the trains don't start until 9am so the people passing you probably did a sunrise walk which has been the trend on Instagram for the last few years, you can also descend via the Rangers path and end up back at Rhyd Ddu but it does add 1.5 miles to the walk. I love the railway, but my family are from Llanberis and my uncle used to work on the train so I'm biased, but I took my uncle and my Dad up on the train when they were in their 80's and they absolutely loved it so for me I don't mind one super busy summit with a train just for that, it was actually pretty quiet when you were there, on the very busiest days queues can be over half an hour long for the summit! And one tip I found out the hard way, if holding a camera or walking poles, make sure to put some suntan lotion on the back of your hands too as they burn super fast!

They should have butter spread on them. They looked like North Welsh cakes. Some even have jam!!!😮 They make them differently to us south Walians. I make them the old fashioned way on an iron griddle. Flour butter currants sugar, (not too much), and an egg. You did well with your Welsh pronunciation . Glad it wasn't too crowded for you and you had a view. I remember Ben Nevis. So glad you had the weather during your visit my my lovely country, I’ve been to your equally lovely country the first while on a mountain leader’s course while in the Army & many many times more on my motorbike. Wales is like a mini Scotland, now Scotland missed a trick! Since way back the Welsh tourist board have ran with the tag line Come To Wales “The Big Country”now your country truly is a big country & until anyone’s visited the place they’ll never know, not only is it big in land mass, but the mountains, lakes & the open spaces are magnificent too & like Wales if you get the weather then it’s a bonus especially if you’re on a bike. Not walked that path on Snowdon, I tend to take first timers up the 3 .1/2 mile Pyg Track, short & sharp but it does get busy, the last time I took a group the weather was bad & there was still a 30min wait just to go up those last few steps to the pinnacle. Did you nip into my Old Regiments ( Royal Welch Fusiliers)free museum while you were in Caernarfon castle? And, yes Welsh cakes are so much better with a touch of butter . Diolch yn fawr iawn (thank you very much) for showing everyone so much our country in an awesome way your filming & interactions have been on the ball. 🏴🏴

About ten years ago, when we lived in North Wales, we walked up Yr Wyddfa with my daughter who is completely blind!! We took the Llanberris Path because we needed a wide route and she did so amazingly well despite blisters she managed all the way up and all the way down which, I agree, was really hard. If I'm honest, it wasn't easy for me either having to guide her, fortunately my partner helped out there. This brought back some 'interesting' memories though!! 😆 Thanks for a great video.

If you walk from the other side of the mountain the accent is only 2.5 hours although not in the heat. The PYG track is good as you start from Pen y Gent. The miners track is ok but a climb at the end, tough going. The Watkin path is an easy one but LONG. If I remember correctly four hours. The Llanberis path is the busy one and hard on the feet. I can’t eat welsh cakes without butter. Under here three hours is a good time, you should never rush. I have been on the top able to see your have out stretched but also when the air has been crystal clear. You can see for miles.

Wow...Cheers! (I would have been the guy in the village pub cheering you's on!)
