Gonna have to disagree with you on the Antiquarian moves chief. Festering might not be a lot of damage, but it's an omni range move that can hit every rank and can be used from any rank. It's best utilized to finish off low health backliners and helping deal with high prot enemies. On top of that in mid to late game it starts outdamaging Nervous Stab and has much better accuracy. Fortifying Vapors and Battle Heal don't belong on the list for the simple fact that they can be used on other characters to get them off Death's Door. You mentioned in the video how the heal doesn't matter cause that same character is just going to hit 0 HP again next round, but yes it does, you just avoided taking an additional Death's Door check. Granted, the point of Antiquarian is to reduce the incoming damage by either raising the team's dodge or lowering the enemy's accuracy rather than trying to outheal it, but having a backup heal in case something goes wrong is never a bad thing. Also no her heal does not go up to 14 with a crit, healing caps at +100% meaning it can only ever go up to 6 and crit for 12. I'm more or less surprised that Get Down didn't make the list, it's by far her most situational move (which is what the criteria of the video was about) because outside of somewhat fixing your party's positioning it doesn't do much to benefit anyone other than the Antiquarian using it.

Thank you for sharing and the antiquarian skills were a little bit of pitfall for me. I was comparing her to others which was not exactly the greatest way to do it since she is made to be weaker. I will be updating this soon. I do understand your arguments for both of the skills. Regarding the healing, I was talking about if someone has an hp trinket that increases healing received by 40%. If it caps out at 100% in total, nevermind then :). Also, get down will most likely make an appearance in the update video.

Battle heal DOES belong on the list, as Crusader already has a generally strictly better skill that can already do the sole function of Battle Heal. You most likely would never run both simultaneously and 90+% of the time you would use Inspiring Cry over BH, with the rare other way around being just unimportant slight recovery optimization. What Battle heal represents and functions as is literally a wasted skill slot, which is one of the most restricted resources in the game.

Blindfire is not necessarily useless. If there is only one enemy left and it's in the front position, you can't hit it with Sniper Shot, but you can with Blindfire. At that point the target is not random anymore, and you deal almost full damage. And this happens quite regularly, so for this purpose I run my Arbalest with Blindfire.

I don't know, man. Purge is very useful for the Corpse Clear alone. Especially if you bring him in Ruins. Scenario - You're in the Ruins, you encounter the typical Shieldwall/Shieldwall/Bearer/Sharpshooter. Your backliners down the Sharpshooter, but left a corpse. Leper, with it's low SPD will usually go last. Purge the corpse on your turn and the Bone Bearer can't revive it. There you go. You've basically removed the most threatening of that encounter.

I would agree and I tried to reason why I felt that way (the dirty secret is, almost every skill has a time and place in this game). At the end of the day I play a more aggressive crusader which appears to be different than most people. I like inspiring cry as a backup heal and not main. If you like him as a main heal it's decent then but I felt the character is better in offensive roles. That is a preference which is why it is up here. Not saying his healing is bad but if you don't really work towards getting battle heal to a high amount it feels lack luster. I have seen plenty of people on here say though they like the heal to get above 2 to 3 hp above some dot checks which makes sense. Just not my cup tea again.

I don't think the comparison of tracking and revenge holds up. Revenge still suffers the same issue of having to get a few swings in before the value events out. It has no on hit damage, and leper takes more damage as a result of it. Tracking has on hit damage, reach, and the bonus to accuracy and damage are very welcome on riposte. Both moves are a massive tempo loss, but if tracking is bad for that reason then revenge is still not good in a not-boss fight for the same reason. Hand of light opens up bonk vestal. Same reason revenge is useful, it helps vestal while doing on hit damage. Illumination is just really bad imo. It is way worse than any of the others. I'd put zealous, bulwark, or smite under battle heal. Even without trinkets it can heal someone past a dot death's door check, and with trinkets it lets crusader solo heal very reliably. It's not just about saving someone from dd though. Wrapping up a fight and stalling for some extra healing it does a solid job. You also don't waste an entire turn saving them from dd. You prevent them from dying if they get double tapped. The only way it's truly a waste is if crusader could have finished the fight the same turn instead, but a lot of other factors come in like what enemy is it and what are speeds looking like for next turn. You can also bring battle heal alongside occultist if you are worried about him screwing you with a bad roll. Yeah it's inefficient on turns, but it's insurance. Bleed out is fantastic. The - damage penalty does not exist honestly. It takes 2 swings before it's a factor, and hellion's crit bonus is bonus damage vs bleed so spamming it is a lot of effective damage. Nuking your own speed against a big single target with bleed out is usually warranted. Open vein is often more effective damage if the enemy has prot, which most frontliners have. Plus lowering their speed and not killing them outright since they can bleed out at the end of the turn instead really helps in squeezing out some more heals. Some of the other stuff I agreed with, but it's more fun to talk about differences :D Keep up the good work dude.
@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming
@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and I do agree differences are where the conversation is at typically :). Hand of light, I personally think bonk vestal is more for fun than practical. She can work and has, but I think in the second position, I would just rather stun the third position than do some chip shot damage. High protection based enemies typically sit in the front, so following up with mace bash can feel lack luster to me. Illumination is a skill I will occasionally take out for my 3rd position vestals. I typically don't find myself using judgement a lot in my fourth row so I take that off because the stun is too good to replace. But, I have had other people on here tell me illumination is bad so I may be odd man out. Tracking shot vs Revenge. It may not be the best reason, but in my head, I see the leper as needing revenge or some significant accuracy boost to make him better. I think overall the highwayman is so strong from the get go, I want him riposting, point blanking someone, or just generic wicked slicing someone. I don't mind the wait on the leper because his damage upside almost always makes up for it with one crit or even a high chop or hew damage. I have been learning I play the crusader in a very different direction and prioritize inspiring cry way more than battle and I don't want both on. So my personal knowledge and experience clouded this choice. I do see a lot of people like it on, but I prefer the full offense array on mine (smite, zealous or stun (depending if I have one yet), holy lance, and inspiring cry). Bleed out, I agree that typically the fights are over before it becomes a huge issue which is why I passed on it for sure. Thank you again and keep up the work yourself!

To be honest, your criteria for why you consider these abilities "bad" is very good. Aka, only situationally good or way better options, with that it mind it makes sense you consider abilities like Caltrops bad or less good than other stuff. The only one I would really disagree with is Antiquarian's festering vapors. I think that Nervous stab is much MUCH worse and meanwhile yeah, it's pretty meh in terms of damage it can still stack blight with a Plague doctor/Grave robber or have synergy with GR's bonus damage on blighted enemies. It also helps to bring down high prot enemies or to finish that one dude that lived with one hp for reasons. Like if I had to pick a damaging ability for Antiquarian it'd be FV > Nervous stab 100% of the time. I do like the fact that most of these abilities have uses even if Niche ones.

Honestly I think either Zelous or Bulwark of Faith are worst Crusader skills. Zelous is a mediocore cleave that starts with only 85 acc and only ever goes up to 105 which isnt great. Additionally it has 40% damage penalty which isnt that bad until you concider it only hits frontliners and frontliners have Prot so the damage will be even lower. Being useable only from 1st and 2nd rank while not great its not the worst either so i give it sort off a pass. But thats all there is to it. No special properties or debuffs. Its almost unesable against bosses too. Zelous is very simmilar to Hew but by far the biggest downside of Zelous is being Crusaders only ranged skill meaning it doesnt synergise with Quirks and Trinkets damage Crusader would want like Ancestors Pen, Surgical Gloves, Slugger or Precise Striker. Bulwark of Light by itself is situational at best and damaging at worst. Mark tanking is unrealiable since enemies can still choose to attack someone else and not all enemies are even swayed by Mark. At level 5 Bulwark gives 30% Prot and Marks you. Brawlers deal +50% damage to Marked, Spiders deal +100%, Fungal Scracher +50% and better Acc, Carrion Eater +100%, Large Carrion Eater +100%. Against those enemies you increase damage taken and those enemies appear in all zones and endgame. Spending a turn on selfbuffing defense instead of Stunning as Crusader just isnt good seeing that you prevent 100% of enemies damage that turn when you stun them. Darkest Dungeon rewards offensive play or control over defensive play a whole lot. And again Bulwark is only ranks 1 and 2. Battle Heal meanwhile can be used at any rank from any rank. With right trinkets like Crusaders CC and Ancestors Scroll and potentially Hipocratic or District it becomes a really strong heal that not only picks up people from Deaths Doors but also prevents them to hit Death Doors again in one hit unlike Inspiring Cry. Being useable anywhere is also an amazing boon to have only Occultist and Flagellant have that property aside from Crus and their heals have strings attached to them. It means Crusader is the prefered healer for a dance heavy comps since he can also participate in dancing you can have Highwayman Shieldbreaker Crusader and Grave Robber all constantly shift positions with their skills but Crusader will be able to pick someone from deaths doors regardless where he ends. It also applies to surprise or bosses that like to mess with your positioning. What it means is that Crusader is the most reliable healer in the game.

The thing about Bleed Out is the fact that the damage debuff is offset by the buff she gets against bleeding targets when she crits. I believe its 10% more than the debuff. So assuming you get the bleed from the skill or someone else bleeds the target that she then attacks, you can essentially negate the debuff.

16:50 Arb mark build Mark/Heal/Blindfire/Shoot Arb/BH/Hound/Occ She almost always is the one carrying the scouting trinket (she's never going first anyway) while everyone else is specced for speed. The point of this ability is to end hallway fights. So many times a front row enemy is left with less than 10 HP and everyone is basically topped off. Hit Blindfire, the fight ends, and you take the speed buff into the next fight which regularly leads to surprises. I understand that's VERY situational, but it still fits in her kit. As in, I don't spec around Blindfire in order to find utility in it unlike Suppressing Fire. The point of the Arb is to delete backline enemies. Suppressing Fire assumes I'm going to keep the backline alive in order for those debuffs to get value.

BH is one of my favourites, so I have to defend Caltrops heh. I think that caltrops is mostly for Bosses fight, just like you said. Majority of bosses sits on a backrow (only 8/12/16 pounder will never get there and you don't really want to do caltrops on it), so if the debuff goes through, boss can be screwed no matter what kind of comp you're running (excluding leper obviously). I would also like to point out how satysfying it is to run caltrops - while playing against swine god i had managed to deal 112 with no crit on hellion, and it would be only 70 if not +60% damage taken from caltrops. I recommend it - Take Maa, Bh, Occ and Hellion against swine king and have fun (don't forget to use camp tho) And I also don't think it is the best skill in game, nor do I think it should be on this list. It is just fine. I totally agree on sidearm and Blindfire being freaking worthless, like, literally worthless. You can't do anything with those, furthermore, when compare it to other skills of arbo it is just kind of joke. I think that every skill in a game has its use, excluding this. I don't really agree on rally to the flame being on this list, mostly because HP is always useful, and even 5-6 points of hp can matter in DD for example. Especially that you can be healing your other heroes for 2 rounds, (Which is already 10-16 HP) when you have only Rapturous Cultist/Bone Courtier/Brigand Fusilier left on 1st row.

I think the ability has so many components ( increase torch, remove stuns, marks, removes everyone's stealth.) that it can have a place for defensive play.

Please watch the video first, but below are my quick responses to what I think will be the most controversial skills: Caltrops, it can work if you like doing that with DOT comps, but are many better abilities on him. Also, it does not output as much damage as a mark strategy and you have to rely on the debuff working. Mark comps often get more than 20% damage and more critical chance (houndmaster 100% damage on mark, so 5 times the damage). Tracking shot, it can be nice for the destealth then into riposte for the extra damage. The destealth is only really good if both individuals in the backrow are stealthed. If one is visible not so much. Solo, as seen in the video, it does a lot of dodges but without max trinkets, quirks, districts, and skills, I think this ability is more of a gimmick and is probably not a normal skill you have. Purge, you could argue sending some people to the back rows or massive body clear is nice, but for the most part you can hew or chop at least one body away for next turns attack. Blindfire, I know some people like the anywhere part of it, but it has low accuracy and damage. Bola can at least hit the front two people and cause some nice shuffling. If you do find your arbalest or musketeer in position one or two just take the turn to get them back where they excel. The blindfire damage and randomness is too much to try and rely on them in that position. The speed is also eh since if you want to do a mark comp you want them to go after the marks have been put on.

Purge is skill you plan to use, not react with. I use it on my double leper double pd team. Turn 1, 1 pd buffs leper rank 2 (attack leper), other pd hits stun button. Leper in rank 2 is running revenge, chop hue and solem. rank 1 leper is running bolster hue solem and purge. There are situational set ups here depending on the enemy, but with vapors buff, most enemies in rank 2 get nuked after 2 chops, if its low enough prot, you may kill it in 1 in which case rank 2 lep hits revenge and rank 1 can bolster or hue depending on what you feel is better for that enemy. Turn 2 is the magic turn. Usually both pds will go before lep, if so both buff leper 2. If one goes after both lepers, then second pd back line stuns. Rank 2 leper finishes the rank 2 enemy leaving the corpse. Rank 1 leper does this very satisfying purge that clears rank 2 sending rank 1 to rank 3. Suddenly both back liners are in rank 1 and 2. Turn 3 is the double hue as both back liners are killed in the front line by a modest rank 1 accuracy improved hue and a beef cake monster hue out that grandslams them into corpse puddles. Stall as needed to healing up any wet noodles the enemy threw at yiu between turns 1 and 2 while the enemy that started in rank 1 tries to figure wtf just happened. Desperate to do something to your rank 1 leper as he laughs his stress off. This set up is really satisfying against enemies in the back line with high move resist for example the elite boner in the ruins. Instead of trying to move him with a weak ass bounty hunter or ocultist pull which fails to work, purge makes his allies dance around him until he finds himself staring down 2 stone faced lepers with a particular point to prove to reddit tier list makers.

The only one I don’t fully agree on is purge. I feel like putting 3rd position into leper range is the best part of it and it’s even better if you have some other close range damage dealer that can hit the guy in the same round. Although I do agree I’ve used leper’s other skills more often apart from like withstand. I also want to mention that none of these skills are legitimately bad and just very situational (apart from antiquarian, but she’s supposed to kinda suck), which is kind of impressive from a game design standpoint

1. Antiquarian is a very curious hero which has only 2 abilities in her skillset, and Festering Vapors is one of them. 2. Caltrops suck hard. Couldn't find any decent use for them whatsoever. 3. Tracking shot is useful in bossfights. That's pretty much it. 4. Bonk Vestal is fun, but not very effective. 5. Battle Heal has only one use: your main healers are too high level and you need someone as a healer for your low level party. Also can pair it with Arbalest/Musketeer heal. 6. Fortifying Vapors isn't the other ability I mentioned in 1. So it's pretty much nonexistent. 7. The only time Blindfire won me a game is when Arbalest 1 vs 1 Shambler's tentacle (all other heroes, second tentacle and Shambler were already dead). Otherwise utterly useless. 8. Toxin Trcikery... wtf even is that. 9. Purge has its uses, but not that many. Like, it upsets Bone Bearers and Hateful Viragos. 10. Dude, you for real? I always have Blind fire for Arbalest and Purge for Leper. And as range highwayman or just in general I use trackingshot, because I can not stand stealth enemies who causing stress and debuffs. I don't rely for Rng to kill stealth enemies like witches in Weald, Shamans in Cove. *Blind fire* I always find it useful for any scenarios. When there is 2 remaining enemies in frontline, Arbalest can do almost full dmg against them and able to heal 1st in next round before your or enemy teams turn, really good for stalling. Other scenario when your arbalest was the last one in in turn 1, she used blind fire deal a decent amount of dmg and attack 1st in next round before enemies and your team, essentially have 2 turns. Keeping that speed buff she can respond to any dmg your team receive and heal, un-stun your ally. Blind fire is even more reliable for not mark team comps where arbalest don't have anyone to mark for her. Blindfire makes her more flexible and be quick dmg dealer or quick healer responder for next turns after blindfire. If Collector show up and if Arbalest went before him she can use blindfire to set up her speed and deal almost full dmg, while other heroes already have put mark on Collector. She will be 1st to attack for each round and 1st who can do emergency heal from deathsdoor. *Purge* Believe me or not, but this is one of best Lepers abilities. For starters it's high accuracy and with extra accuracy trinkets will guaranteed to hit, despite -40%dmg, it's still pretty decent dmg. Sending bone shield dudes, cultist brawlers, mushroom scratchers to the back helps to disable them and move 3rd and 4th position enemies close to your other heroes for a stun/skills that don't have high reach or mess up 3rd position enemy who moved to 2nd position. Leper can't always destroy corpses with one shot and if there is multiple - it feels like a wasted turn. *Another thing!* if you kill someone with Purge they will not leave corpses, even it wasn't a crit. Really good against Bone bearer and Viragos. Not to mention accuracy buff on top while you do these helpful move/corpse cleans. Purge eliminate need to do revenge, when it can buff and deal dmg at same time. Enemies like Spiders and cultist brawlers have decent enough dodge to dodge hew and chop, Purge is more of a guaranteed hit. Purge is an anti "Leper miss stereotype". Let me give you decent comps for Purge Leper: 1) Arbalest - Houndmaster - Vestal (yes position 2 vestal and with illumination) - Leper 2) Vestal - Man at arms - Crussader - Leper (Use Maa stun move to move crusader back to rank 3, but not infront of Leper). This team will absolutely mess up enemy team with Maa move stun + purge. Advised to have Intimidate against stealth and stress enemies. 3) Vestal - Jester - Hound master - Leper

But it is one of her better abilities which somewhat contradicts a category I mentioned at the beginning (Get down would have been better on this list). Second, I was trying to avoid just generic attacks like nervous stab since they are mostly depend on the heroes damage rather than what the ability does (i.e chop on the Leper looks bad until you realize the damage he offers). Purge to disable the front row and bring those back raw stress nukes to the front where they get decimated by your guys from second and/or third position (+perfect choice for champion weald). Solemnity speaks for itself. And Intimidate kills whoever has low hp in the back row of the enemy party. -40% dmg from Purge is nothing for the Leper and even the -80% from Intimidate will always deal around 2-4 damage - perfect finisher if he goes last. I personally like Tracking Shot for a Ranged Highwayman with the gunslinger + Clean Guns belt just to stack up critical hit and damage for bosses. For hallway fights I just use it to finish off low HP targets and getting a boost for the next enemy. For Purge, getting the enemy team's positions mixed up on round 1 is rather nice, buys time and reduces incoming dmg, especially stress. Caltrops I do agree with because I mostly find my single Bounty Hunter's too busy using other skills. Some people though like to pair the BH along with another BH, it could have some use there especially with bosses. None of these I would use on a Surprised Enemy though, just kill them.

Grape shot blast can give +8 percent critical chance to 3 enemies. So for me, I've always liked that ability more for the team use rather than the damage aspect. I am weird in that regards but I do love a ranged highwayman.

You know Red Hook did something right when everyone's ranking of abilities are very different. Desperate game of risk mitigation, no strategy is flawless, so everyone chooses different poisons for themselves. Many stuff already said in comments, but I'd definitely switch up your hand of light judgement with illumination. Running Vestal in the front, she needs both damage and accuracy. Hand of light gives both of that, which are pretty badly needed. If she's in the front, that means no judgement, meaning reaching rank 3 is not all that bad either. Illumination on the other hand does even less damage, and of all the things you could be doing with a vestal, de-stealthing isn't exactly a priority, especially when she's too slow to do so quickly before all the others act, especially before the monster acts. I'd say the core, most important abilities of the vestal are divine comfort and dazzling light. Both can be used in the back and front, so frontline vestal isn't that big of a detriment, and since it leaves up vacancies from not being able to use divine grace and judgement, it's very convenient to place in hand of light and mace bash at the cost of nothing, since there aren't better alternatives. Illumination is silly, but it might be marginally more useful in the back than in the front, where there's no way you'd replace hand of light with it.

Overall I agree with your assessments, but my two biggest contentions are festering vapors and blindfire. I much prefer festering vapors as a damage dealing ability on anti as opposed to nervous stab. I understand that nervous stab is supposed to be a basic attack ability, but it’s so bad when paired when the anti’s better available skills and terrible offensive stats. Festering vapors allows for blight stacking, ignores prot, hits all ranks and just feels much better imo. I also think that bolas is far worse ability than blindfire and should replace it on the list. In my eyes, they serve the similar purpose of allowing arbalest to hit rank 1, but bolas does less damage and has an awkward movement skill chance that often just shuffles two enemies between the front ranks. Blindfire does have bad acc but I’d usually prefer to have it in most situations. Another ability that I think deserves to be on this list is the arbalests mark. It’s clearly the worst mark and I think it’s one of the worst abilities in the game mostly due to its inability to hit rank 1. I’m glad to see flashing daggers in the honorable mentions because that is another ability that I almost never see a reason to use. Overall nice video with solid points.

The fester vapours and nervous stab abilities is something I should have elaborated on. I do agree nervous stab is pretty flaccid in most situations, but I was trying to avoid basic attacks. I did that since abilities like chop on the leper can look bad until you understand the damage it can do from his weapon. But once again, I do understand you point. Bolas is a weird one and I I think what sold me was just the fact you don't know where blindfire is going and the low acc. I do agree though, bolas is in the top 20 for sure! Also, someone else mentioned the mark on her which is a good point! I didn't really think about that while I was going through ( I was thinking marks are great, unless you are the character who gets the most out of them) Thank you for watching!
@drakeeggleston853

Yeah I also wanted to add that about the arbalests mark because she is almost always the one who is trying to capitalize on the mark and it feels like such a waste of a turn to have her mark when you could use a much better marking ability instead. About blindfire as well, I almost always use the ability when there are two or less front rank enemies, which is obviously a pretty common situation in room/hall battles, so that is another reason why I don’t really notice the random targeting. I think arbalest has one of the worst kits out of all classes and simple things like making her mark hit all ranks or having blindfire/bolas move you back would make her a much better class. Thanks for the response! Please lmk if you have a discord or something for more discussions.

One of the Crusaders was L1 and the rest of the team were L2. 2 of the Crusaders were healers and 2 Lancers, one had 30%prot, good quriks that added acc or health, I thought I would do well. I could dance and hit the back line consistently. For some reason I have always thought that the pot was a 1 space target NOT 2 and that the Hag was a 3 spot target... UUPPPPSSSSSS. 😮😮😮 I LIKE ANTI's Festering Vapor. 😊 The Crusaders just lanced the Hag and Anti got cooked. Fine I knew that would happen. Lance, lance, Hag down 1/3hp. Anti gets dumped out and is on dd. Raynuld goes into the pot and NOW I see the problem- nobody can Lance and only Anti can do damage via Festering Vapors, at whatever L2 is, 1-2pt dot per??? There are now 2 on dd and one cooking....😅😂😂😅 The Crusaders are having to heal cause everyone is on dd. This leaves Anti to dot the Hag for 1-2pt round until she finally kills the Hag. Remember the Hag had only lost 1/3hp to lances; only lost Raynould.... 😂😂😂😅😂😂😂 I tell you this😅😅😅 because😂 FESTERING VAPORS IS A DAMM GOOD ATTACK! 😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅 I hope this changes your opion😂 about the usefulness 😅😅 of this skill. 😂😂 Hope you enjoyed this. However, chances are, I'm going to mainly be using Beast's Bile, Noxious Fumes, Plague Grenade, Adder's Kiss, Impale, and Poison Dart to build up Blight DoT, so even then, there's not too much of a point to running it, aside from it being better than Nervous Stab. The big thing it does have going for it is the fact that you can still use it to hit the fourth position, which is why I'd say it's still better than Nervous Stab. Also, that 3 extra Blight DoT could mean the difference between a Bone Royalty getting a second turn or dying to blight. 9. I have never run Caltrops outside of Butcher's Circus. In fact, it even got to the point where I outright FORGOT that the Debuff effect was so amazing. Still not something I would use because Bounty Hunter's other options are so much better. 8. I only ever use Tracking Shot on my first two missions. While it is a nice buff, and it does De-Stealth, all of the Highwayman's other options are still so much better. Yes, even Duelist's Advance. (I'm assuming we're still memeing about it here? If not, replace 'even' with 'especially.') 7. I almost never have Vestal anywhere closer to the enemy than the third position, so I've never used Hand of Light. The recursive buffing sounds appealing, but there's really no use for doing so. You're giving up some potent healing to do that. 6. Battle Heal can do really well on a Support Crusader. In Lineups where I can't add in a Vestal, or I know that my Vestal is going to be incredibly busy and I still need healing on top of that, it's still something I slap on my Crusader because it's nice to still have the option, even if I'm going to Smite or Stunning Blow anyways. It's also still inferior to Inspiring Cry. 5. Fortifying Vapours is one of those skills I only use to get someone off of Death's Door, long enough to bring some better healing to them next turn. 4. Blindfire/Sidearm is still something I have on some Arbalest/Musketeer comps, but I actually use it very few times because when I use an Arbalest or Musketeer, the first thing I usually want to do is focus fire. It does some nice damage, though. 3. I have never used Toxin Trickery. Period. I can't give an honest opinion on how to use it efficiently. 2. Never used Purge either, honestly. If I want to clear Corpses, I'll be using Daemon's Pull or Disorienting Flash over this skill. If it upped the Leper's accuracy more, I might've actually considered the potential for running it. 1. I only ever use Solo to set up for Finale or to fight the Aformentioned Drowned Crew. I've yet to actually find a consistently good use for Finale. And the Honorable Mentions. Suppressing Fire/Smokescreen is one of those abilities I do tend to use heavily on the Arbalest/Musketeer in situations where I know they won't one-shot enemies, and I absolutely need to destroy the accuracy of the third and fourth positions. And it is often very helpful for me, assuming the debuffs go off. If they don't, then I re-evaluate all of my life choices that led up to this moment. In a pinch, it does help somewhat against Swine Skivers, should I not have an efficient way to one-round them. Bleed Out is a very interesting concept, but very risky as well. The self-debuff, as well as the fact that it can only be used in position 1 (Granted that's normally where I like to keep a Hellion anyways) and can only target position 1 make it an iffy choice at best. If I'm going for damage, I'm most likely going to opt for Iron Swan or Wicked Hack anyways. And the only real move I'd give up 20% Damage and 3 Speed for is Barbaric YAWP, as that turn, assuming both enemies are stunned, you will essentially be allowing your team to fight 2v3 that round. Add in Blinding Gas and you basically have a chance for everyone to be stunned, essentially giving you a free turn. I only really use Open Vein in areas like the Warrens and Weald, where I know I'm going to be relying on Bleed Damage. However, even then, I much prefer Riposting or just bringing units like Houndmasters, Flagellants, Jesters, and Hellions, who either give much better Bleed DoT, or spread it out well amongst each enemy. The latter can get really good when you're up against the Flesh. Also, Wicked Slice is better in terms of damage output, which is usually what I need. Flashing Daggers is pretty good in AoE comps, but I don't use Grave Robber enough to justify picking this ability, especially when Shieldbreaker does her job much better. The fact that each dagger still deals 2/3 damage is still nothing to scoff at though. On top of that, Shadow Fade/Lunge is still a very nice combo, so I still recommend having one Grave Robber. Incision is something I only really use in the Warrens or the Weald, and usually, when I'd want to use Incision, my Plague Doctor is probably busy doing something else.

Even with that considered, Nervous Stab is probably the only generic ability I'd put on there, because, in most cases other than the Antiquarian, the generic abilities are still very solid picks, and usually, at least one or two people on my team will have at least one generic ability, not counting the Abomination, who pretty much has access to all of his abilities. I think tracking shots a sleeper skill it sucks early game since no enemies are using stealth and buff is okay but generally isn't worth the effort using a turn to use late game though I think it's great since stealthed enemies becomes very common especially stress dealers taking it places like the cove or wield is Great with highway man's decent speed you can typically get first action and have an active buff for the rest of the battle With it's only downside being it's single use so if you get two stealthed enemies your outa luck for that It's really the only effective and useful destealth tool when you think about when you compare it to the others flare being meh and giving pretty rubbish stress heals and expose being awkward to use since generally when you play shield breaker she wants position one to get impale hits and it doesn't even reach 4th position I think and antiquarian being antiquarian doesn't have the best accuracy for hitting those high dodge stealthed targets for flashpower

I go back and forth about festering vapours because of the fourth row hitting. I did try to avoid just generic attack abilities in the video because it really depends on the heroes damage or situation. For example, chop on the Leper could look miserable at 95 accuracy and 7% crit modifier. However, its because one focus ring or battle ballad turns that ability into a wrecker due to his naturally high damage. All that said, I do understand your point though!

You're a little too focused on straight damage with some of these skills without really considering the utility or advancing planning. Take Purge: If you've got two Courtiers in the back, and two corpses in front, you can Chop 1 corpse, or Purge both of them, bringing both Courtiers up enough for them to use Stab in the Dark instead of their stress attack, saving your 80% stress healer from losing it. Toxin Trickery: Grave Robber has just been hit with a 10 damage bleed and has 7 HP. You can clear the bleed and then the added speed moves her up in the turn order or further protects her 1st action-position from bad rolls, letting her do more damage, and the added dodge helps keep her off of Death's Door by evading enemy attacks, so instead of multiple DD checks, she ends the fight at 7 HP AOE attacks are *really bad* in Darkest, because of their high miss chance and reduced damage.

I've used tracking shot sometimes. I wouldn't say it's a great ability. But the typical way that I've used it is to finish a low HP enemy after riposte is active. A situation like when. a stress dealing enemy is about to move so you want to prevent it. You only need to do 2 or 3 damage to finish and may as well get a buff out of it. But maybe grapeshot would be better in that situation.

My thoughts on the skills I disagree with more in this video: On your last video I commented that I think caltrops was on this list and I was right! Honestly I agree with this pick because the other abilities just outshine it, and I can only see it working with bleed comps in CC. For the tracking shot I agree with it being useful for mostly just boss fights but it's still good for the buffs, and don't forget the destealth. I've come across a fair amount of comps with full stealth, like 3 meat hookers in the Warrens where I didnt have it equipped and wished for it. It also goes well with the weald and cove because the crone and shaman sit in the back and have stealth, so tracking shot and something like iron swan go well together in those cases. Again last video I commented blindfire was one of the skills and I was right! I agree with your opinion on toxin trickery, but the ONLY application of using it is with shard dust, and I have seen people solo Bloodmoon Countess with grave robber, so that's literally the only case where it is viable but then still riskier than bringing 4 heroes. Leper: HOW DARE YOU PUT MY BOY'S ABILITIES ON THIS LIST. Honestly I agree with this pick and with you saying it has limited applications, like pushing a cultist brawler to rank 4 or clearing corpses against some stress dealers in the back yet it does excel at doing those things that may seem like a little but it can still help a lot, and if done that bonus accuracy can make a difference, even if it is small and does moderate damage itself. Solo is like toxin trickery in that it works best in an all dodge comp in something like endless harvest for like 3 jester, 1 antiquarian in endless harvest or against countess.

Regarding the extras you had in the honorable mentions, The only applications of bleed out for hellion or open vein for HWM are in the CC. Regarding incision, the damage is good especially if you have the CC set trinket for the extra damage and bleed chance. Incision on the PD can become really awesome and I see you edited your original comment a little so I can go more in depth as well. I do like tracking shot for the destealth since the damage is somewhat secondary outside of boss fights as we both agree. The leper could be hit or miss (just like him), but I wish it did more accuracy. If it was plus 10 even, I would have moved it out of the top 10 for sure.

I don't think any HWM skills should be in this list. They're all powerful. Tracking shot is simply a matter of using it without wasting the round when you could've set up riposte or simply attacked instead. Also bosses. Just because it rarely gets used doesn't mean it's bad imo. Also I can't think of a better de-stealth skill? If I had to pick one to use it would be Tracking. Most of the others seem really bad in comparison, aside from maybe SB.

IKR? It essentially buffs your Highwayman's damage by about 38% for the entirety of a boss battle. The Highwayman already does a ton of damage, and that 38% doesn't even account for the stress heal and buff from hitting crits. (also, I personally think Bleedout doesn't get enough credit. The bleed overall still does a lot more damage if you get it, allows you to heal your party instead of killing the last monster, and it goes straight through protection)

Also, shouldn't Bellow be up there? What's the point of reducing the speed of your enemies when half of them have already taken their turn, wasting one of your own turns in the process? Im going to defend battle heal on this one. when your Crus isnt in POS 1 or 2 very often you dont have much skills to take so it doesnt make sense to take accusation or stunning strike. as such battle heal makes way. Crus is one of 2 heros which can benefit from both sides on ancestors scroll (on someone more than himself) and that with crusaders orders does remove 10% damage but also lets you heal for 10. il often run that with a crus primarily using holy lance because then your crusader just becomes your vestal. Incision is a great skill imo. although it doesnt debuff accuracy like noxious blast but in most situations it does a lot more damage especially on a crit, it has half the dot but also averages (with bloody herb) 12-20 damage on a non crit, and it has such a high crit mod it really racks up in damage ive had times where PD with incision was pumping out more damage than a hellion because the accuracy and crit mod was adding up. fortifying vapors is not a bad option for 1 reason. its good if you dont want to bring any other healer as it is able to bring someone off deaths door and tank every dot except like 2 unless your on stygian. the 5 heal isnt much but your gald it exists when you dont have any other healer, and i like not bringing other healers with anti because the dodge value is quite high lastly i think bleedout is a decent skill when used like finale. you dont want to use it round 1 but when theres not many enemies left or theres a dangerous foe in the right position is great to pump out a big meaty hit. but its horrible as your only way to attack Pos 1

So ofc her blight is bad , her heal is bad , even her stab is bad , why not put her stab in the list when her blight does more dmg on the long run and can target rank 4 and has a debuff assiciated with it ? I m not saying it s good but imo it s also not really worst than her Stab , esp vs prot mobs. So yeah I would either put all 7 anti abilities maybe except her group dodge , or none with a special mention regarding what I think what the worst anti's abilities are. I think Ild have swapped those 2 and put the Flagellant "Suffer" and the Ocu "weakening curse" instead. See I think bellow is actually a lot better than most people give it credit for. Is it a top 50% skill, probably not, but I do not think an ability that reduces dodge by 10 and speed by 7 over the whole enemy line up is bad. You take one turn to give everyone 10 acc and to go before your enemy. In a weird way its a reverse battle ballad.

@@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming The ones that you never pick over the ones that are nich. 10: Snipers Mark. It's the worst mark in the game. The Dodge debuff is hardly what you are looking for and you probably gain more if someone else in the team marks for the Arbalest than the oposite. 9: Blindfire. I agree. If you want Arb to hit 1st position, use Bola. 8: Grape Shot Blast. Yes, maybe Tracking Shot is only usefull against bosses, but Grape Shot Blast is never the best option. There is not reason to take it over any of the HWM skills. As I implied before, nich is better than pointless. 7: Ilumination. Maybe Hand Of Light is only usefull for one build, but still better than Ilumination that you probably never going to use anyway. If you have a backline Vestal you are probably using Judgement and Dazling Light with both heals with both cures and if you are using a melee Vestal, you are probably also Hand of Light to help your damage. Ilumation, in this case is rarely usefull and even more nich than Hand of Light. 6: Bulwark of Faith. When was the last time you ever used it outside of Circus? It's by far the weakest Crusader skill. While Battle Heal is not a very strong heal, it can save you and gives you a option of a consistent (even if weak at that) healer. 5-6 base is just about what you need to go over that DoT turn without reaching death's door. 5: Zealous Acusation. Once again, when was the last time you used this skill outside of circus? It's not a good cleave, it has bad acc at low levels when you could make some use of it and it takes the slot that you could use for one of the heals, stun or Holly Lance. 4: Slice Off/Harvest. Pick one. The other is useless. You can fight me on this one and I won't judge you, but, having two skills that are almost the same makes one of them pointless. Wich one depends on your preference. And in defence of Solo, if you use Finale, you really apreciate this skill. For me (and many other people, I'm sure) this skill is a good way to set up for Finale. 3: Suffer. This skill is just a wasted slot for the Flagelant. I have never ever seen it used in a usefull way. 2: Supressing Fire. Yeah. It is bad. 1: Toxin Trashery. This is the worst skill in the game and you're just never going to use it.

So I didn't put it on here because the debuff is really good over a few turns. By turns two to three, people can be critically striking this getting buffs and removing stress. If it didn't have the debuff, it would easily be one of the worse skills in the game. Edit: with the right trinkets the damage on criticals can become respectable as well.

I usually run Blindfire/Sidearm, actually. Especially at novice/veteran level short dungeons where I for some reason don't have a vestal available I use it alongside the heal skills to be sure I have some speed for the next turn if necessary. Sure, I mainly use the standard attack, but unless I'm doing a mark party I don't really have anything better to put on my Arbalest. Also niche use if I get shuffled. Some random damage can be better than none.

Dude! What are you even running with antiquarian!? Are you taking them out with all of their abilities turned off? In which case I completely understand. I mean you’re raging on secondary heals incessantly. They are so useful. Not dying is actually pretty good, especially when it’s permanent

It depends on the composition I am running, but the three I usually have on are: protect me, invigorating vapours, flashpowder, then often either nervous or festering (depending on where I go). Get down was a weird one, and I partially thought about putting it on the list (not sure why I didn't since it is mostly dodge cheese related). I agree the heals are nice but I am not a huge fan of the wimpy ones. I have used it before, but I never feel good about it and would rather have the other skills on ( such as flash powder or protect me for riposte strategies). I do understand though putting healing abilities as bad was a different look but I really do not think they are great in comparison.

@@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming but what she wants to do is finish high prot enemies that are on the edge. Her stab basically does the same as her vapors except it actually doesn’t do any damage to those targets. It’s just completely ineffectual. Otherwise, she should be spamming vapors (of the dodge variety). Her heal is actually a great side heal to scum with in a high crit team with no heal on a short dungeon especially when she has her CC trinket equipped (I’d never really take here anywhere longer than medium since it’s such a waste). I guess everything you apparently don’t like about her I think is actually the best she has in terms of actual impact. But hey, great thing about this game is we all run our own comps and have our own opinions

Trying to explain why you think it is bad is kinda reasonable. But from the battle video, it is sad that party comps, your skill usage is suppressing the character of the skills. Why don't you need to utilize the skills more reliable? Title of this video is kinda dangerous because this only can make prejudice more, so it needs to be added with 'your opinion' hope you can show better vid next time :)
@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming
@HiDdeNSQuiDZGaming 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. Regarding the bad party comps, it is much quicker to shove everyone into one group and get footage from the same group. Reduces my dungeons to about 4 or 5 rather than potentially 8 to 9. That is a considerable amount of extra time just to show what the skills can do in their best situation, if it was presented. The bulk of this video was showing the skill text, since that was more of my point rather than how to use it correctly. Also, I do not think in my or your opinion is needed. For the most part, any tier video is subjective or heavily opinionated already if there are no definitive or hard numbers. The same goes for any other tier video I have made. Typically, I do try to say at the start or in the middle of my videos, if it works for you, go for it.
