Rebel red fins have been around for years. Pretty much the same thing.

I've used them for years

On lighter top water lures, sometimes I wonder if bass miss them because the water pressure from their own wake actually pushes the lure out of the way. And I tend to think heavier top water lures get missed less. I wonder if anyone else had the same experience?

That’s actually a really great thought process. I’ve never looked at it that way but it actually makes sense

Had a lot of good luck sizing up to the 6th sense jointed wake baits. It's heavy and doesn't get blown out by fish as much. The big rapala jointed minnows do great also... much more subtle than the whopper plopped, but you can pop it with a really sharp jerk to make a noisy splash

@@masonfranklin_fishing thanks for clueing us in that rapala wake. I think you were about to make the conclusion when you described how heavy it is. 👍

@@BarkingRugers I really think that's why wood top waters can do so well. They sit lower, have more action, are more durable, heavier, and cast farther. They may even give off more water displacement vibration for the bass to feel through their lateral line. Thanks for the tips!

I have some strike king baits like that. Bass love it. It leaves a nice V shape wave from the wobble and a nice loud rattle to it.

I use a wake bait a lot, The creeks I wade are mostly knee deep so it’s a great bait for those conditions

I’ve heard a bunch of people doing that!

Great lure! One of my favorites. It is hard to find them.

My opinion with a wake bait keep your retrieve slow and steady. I fish them along bluff walls for smallies
