The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism (1967) [Horror] | Full Movie with Christopher Lee and Lex Barker

1806: Frederick Count Regula is sentenced to death and quartered as atonement for the bestial murder of 12 virgins at his castle Andomai in the Sander Valley.
1841: A one-legged ballad singer delivers a mysterious request to the solicitor Roger Mont Elise and the young Baroness Lilian of Brabant: Count Regula asks them to set off for the disreputable Sander Valley in the Midlands, where Lilian is to come into the inheritance of her deceased mother and Roger is to receive clues that may clear up his mysterious origin. Roger finds a companion in the bizarre Father Fabian, who shows him the way to the legendary ‘Blood Castle’.
On the way the two men can thwart an attack by masked riders on Lilian and her maid Babette, who are travelling to the same destination. He offers the two ladies his protection, but cannot prevent them from being kidnapped shortly before their arrival. In a knight’s hall beneath the ruins of Count Regula’s castle, Roger and Fabian meet the intimidated women again. They find themselves in the company of a sinister man, Anatol, who announces the imminent appearance of Count Regula. Fabian, who turns out to be a mugger, but now joins forces with Roger out of fear, does not succeed in defanging the invulnerable Anatol.
Trying to escape, Roger, Lilian and Fabian get into a vault where Anatol succeeds in raising the dead Count in a black mass. He announces that he only needs the blood of a 13th virgin, namely Lilian, to gain eternal life. While Regula and Anatol try to frighten Lilian to death with snakes and other horrible monsters, Roger is facing execution with a razor-sharp pendulum…

This movie had it all! Virgins, snake pits, pendulums, laboratories with dry ice, Christopher Lee, a spooky forest, a cross, suspicious villagers, you name it. Love how the driver tells the passengers about the three crows, but not the dead bodies hanging all over the place. Cool movie, looked like a Hammer flick.

Thanks ! One of my favorite European gothic horror films from the 60s. Karin Dor was married to the director, who appears to have been influenced by Mario Bava and Roger Corman's Poe films here. Although ad breaks practically before the opening credits have finished is a bit much.

i'm so happy to see comments from other people who love this movie! i got the VHS tape of the film when i was 13, back in 1987 (titled "Castle of the Walking Dead"), and still have it. the atmosphere in this film is wonderfully creepy and thanks to whoever uploaded this - it's the best quality i've ever seen of this film!!

This was a movie that I had seen as a child on an old B&W set. The scene with the bodies hanging fro the trees haunted me to this day especially since I did not know the title of the movie. Watching this here and then seeing the scene with the bodies was a shock and surprise. Seeing the movie in color and a beautiful print is a great treat. Very fun flick.

Have to give the film solid points for set design - looks so much better than other gothics of the period. Lee in his autobiography said the smell from the naked women under the hot lights was unpleasant. Thanks for the upload!

The German title -- "Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel" -- translates as "The Snake-hole and the Pendulum" . . . which makes that German word for the English "Pit" quite intriguing. It's not just a 'pit', it's full of snakes!

I've always wondered if a music score was excised and replaced with "special effects" sounds for some reason. I saw it on commercial television four decades ago and the movie was entirely silent during the credits. I thought something was wrong with my TV.

The old magic town of Rothenburg was a nice choice of location. Curiously there is a medieval museum with torture instruments not far from where they shoot one of the scenes. Gruesome to say the least.

Very good horror film, with some great moments. But of all of the horrifying things depicted here, you actually had to wait till the last 40 seconds of the film for the the most ultimately horrific of them all --- just listen to that soundtrack kicking in at 1:19:41 --- I shall hear it in my nightmares for the rest of my days (to the visual accompaniment of dancing dwarves in Ballerina costumes).

Je pense avoir ce film il y a Lex Baxter un tarzan des années 50 60 mais aussi un héro de la célèbre série winetou. Lex est excellent dans ce film mais il un acteur que j appreci vraiment. oui j'ai bien ce film mais je vous remercie infiniment dorénavant il sera sur ma playliste. Petite remarque la musique sur ce film ne va pas du tout à l esprit du film gothique. Ces bien à l origine un film Allemand.

Christopher Lee was amazing as usual.Was that Exersteine,I think it's called,that stupendous rock formation which was turned into a Pagan Temple thousands of years ago???The vultures,snakes,and lizard were cute as hell!An interesting film that kept my attention throughout, although,I really wished that sometimes the baddies did win,so that you would be guessing right up to the end!The soundtrack was crap, horrendous,and mightily misjudged.Thank you for posting.👍🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️🐊🐊🐊
