That was a pretty darn good movie, even better than the first one. Cheers and thank you.

You could make an argument that both Quatermass films with Brian could be in the top 10 science fiction movies of the 1950s . They are both excellent.

Pretty decent movie, I must say! I debated watching but decided to "give it a go" and I'm glad I did .. very well-made for the times! Now, I'm looking forward to even more Quatermass adventures, now that I've experienced one. Thanks for sharing and for the viewing opportunity!

To be honest, I think this is the weakest of the three films; the first is much better I think. But of them all, I think the third; Quatermass And The Pit; is the best, with the exception of the unconvincing 'Martians', everything else about it is just great.

Enjoyable low-budget movie. For some reason, the acting in British movies seems more natural and organic than in American movies. A nice performance by Brian Donlevy late in his career.

Hammer had a limited budget, but they made the most of it, getting good actors who really believed in their craft. Nigel Kneale wrote a lot of their early scripts,...very wordy, but solid scripts. Jimmy Sangster also wrote quality scripts, and the direction in the movies was always good. Brian Donlevy wasn't the best Quatermass around, IMO, but he wasn't the worst, either. His stature as an actor in Hollywood helped, although British audiences were divided on him...they'd have preferred an English actor. Kneale disliked him...Donlevy had a rep as a drunk...maybe true, maybe not, but he had been a well-established actor in the 1940's and early 1950's. Whatever the case, the first two Quatermass flicks were good, and Quatermass and the Pit, with Andrew Kier in the lead, was solid as well.
