I’m sorry, but “For better or for worse” goes out the window when someone starts knowing engaging in criminal behavior. Not only do you put yourself at risk, but potentially your loved ones. You are not worthy of someone’s loyalty when you start down that path!

Men do not do the same for women. If these women were incarcerated, they wouldn't be getting weekly visits. Men leave prison and have the privilege to return home, dinner on the table. Women exit the system, the only visitors they've had are female relatives, their children have been removed and their partners are with new women.

​@@sharonevans3182 Absolutely. Statistically, she is correct. I would claim that 95% (or more) of men do not stand by their partner while they are incarcerated. My issue was with the phrasing of such fact. We could turn the table around for me to say that "Women betray their partner while they are in prison." Well, it would be wrong for me to say that. Some women do betray their male partner while he's in prison, but the vast majority do not. We should not generalize such facts. It is not right for those who do stay with their partner through every and all challenges that life throws at them.

It is amazing how visiting days at men’s prisons overflow with visitors. Women everywhere coming to visit. Visiting days at a women’s prison are so underwhelming. A few parents and grandparents with the inmates’ children, and a few husbands. But basically empty. Why is that?

The fact these women are doing the most to keep everyone happy, hold it together & be the sole breadwinner, parent & the one kids look to for EVERYTHING ! To be sure these ladies are strong to do all this and maintain their relationships with their other halves who have gotten locked up for their own choices not fair to their family in all this aftermath but they are staying by them to support them - they have the strength to do this - they will have the strength to make the decision to say enough is enough when or if the time does come but end of say it's their lives I just hope they don't have this in their lives all their life with these men! If there is trust between partners then there is love. No matter where they are. In some countries the mothers get to be with their babies if they get incarcerated for a short time. I think a dad who wants to be with their child for the beginning of the child’s birth and for a few months after should have the same opportunity as the mother. The dad could take care of the baby during the day while the mother is working. Have a place nearby the prison so the mother wouldn’t have such a long way to travel to pick up the child after the day is over. This could help in rehabilitation so the man can see how hard it is to take of the baby and bond with that child. Who knows it might help the family in the end.

I really think that most of these women know exactly the criminal activity that their husbands/boyfriends are being locked up for. I don't think they are as innocent ad they like to make out and I don't feel sorry for most of them. The children I really do feel sorry for.

Addiction, lack of job skill, honest problems. A man needs to choose to try harder. He needs to choose his family. I hope these women realize they have value without these men and prioritize their children.

The prison life is being normalized for kids. Children should never set foot in a prison building. For fathers who are convicted of heinous crimes against women and children, should automatically lose all parental rights. There's a big difference between Love and Co dependancy. Strip searching children is crossing a line into child protection territory. Kids cannot give consent. These men are being enabled. Going no contact, no prison visits, might be the wake up call they need. They're in prison, getting well fed, all their needs met, no bills, partner & kids visit all the time. Where's the punishment in that??? Playing dumb, that she didn't know her partner, the father of her child,was dealing heroin.

Will never understand the urge people have to critique all men whenever they see something slightly negative. Of course the men involved aren't the best. It's a documentary for prisoner's WIVES, not for the husbands. There are many men who are in the same boat and have no documentary. That said, I have a lot of respect for these women. They are doing something very difficult to keep things going for their children, and I will always have respect for that.
