I'm slowly becoming faster, I'm climbing up the SR ladder. But with my few experiences within iRacing it's uncomprehendable for me, how someone can be as fast as consistent as you. Truly astonishing. Hard to believe there are guys outdriving you like this.

I'm not top tier by any measure but providing a good group of consistent drivers mid to low field is extremely important for the race flow. Simply participating in these races is its own reward I think. Not getting in the way or wrecking the leaders is a tough skill set learn (we all want to be winners). It's not always about the finish but enjoying the journey there!

I thought i was flying hitting high 2.07s yesterday, and got absolutely obliterated by the competition. 2.03s is where the top drivers were at. So much fun though.

You really just have to be on the limit

@xaviercain yeah, but for a lot of people, me especially, at the limit means potentially wrecking out. I'd rather finish the race in a respectable position with a car that has all wheels pointing in a straight line etc.

@@ApexFlynn I agree, driving on the limit is very hard. Like you said it’s whether you wanna be off the pace but finish the race or drive on the limit with a risk of crashing out. Doing heaps of laps on the limit is good practice

I just jumped from Mazda to the Porsche Cup! Amaizing car and i LOVE this track, having a lot of fun this week, my best was a 5th place, but with a lot of battle, incredible race!

Ah, a couple taps of the walls driving through the top of the mountain is alright. Good driving, love seeing the off throttle rotation of the Porsche.

Dave, I’m a big admirer of your content, of your racing and if you personally. I’ve been a subscriber of yours for quite some time. I’m a mature racer like yourself ( 35 years experience). I have to be honest with you mate, I’ve never seen you drive so poorly. Just a little late, or a little early or a little hesitant. Hey Dave, which overlay are you using at the top middle the "circular one" that shows your delta? I have Racelabs and I love that overlay I've selected them all and I cant seem to find that one and its bugging the hell out of me! And yes I pay for the premium version! Have you tried the Australian V8 Supercars at Road Atlanta? Holy Moly that's tough racing. Anything in the V8 Supercars is an absolute challenge.

Hey Dave, been watching your races for many years and never dared to give you advice, I respect you too much. But now I actually think I can help and do something back for once. At the Falken turn, if you stick to the right a bit longer, a bit further, and you then go for the apex, you will get a much better exit and win 3 to 4 tenths at the end of the following straight. Don’t believe me, try if you can 😊

I enjoyed the race! I joined back in 2009 and got my D license in road racing then stopped iRacing in 2011; came back on July 1 2023, after a 12-year break but I am still horrible at driving.

Hey Dave - great race, really enjoyed that one. I noticed that from turn 5-6 on the inside of the corners, there is a dip and you would spin and lose 2 tenths to vlad every lap...maybe there is a middle line through there to hold grip better?

I always struggle at Bathurst Dave. As you say sometimes guys are just faster than you which is a struggle I know well. It was interesting to see that the finishing positions almost perfectly reflected everyone's IR so it is a fairly accurate representation of speed/ability. As always great racing. Keep it up. 👍 Oh by the way did you know that Abdul is now an Asetek Invicta user?

This car frustrates the hell out of me, but I think I'm going to keep driving it because I think it'll make me a better driver. Smoothness is something I struggle with, especially with the throttle. Whenever I roll on it nice and smooth I start feeling like I'm too slow to get to full throttle. Then I overdo it and around I go. It's so hard to know where that limit is without feeling the tires slip like in a real car.

I’m sure you’ve heard this tip before, but turning down engine noise and turning up any tire sound fx helped me find the limit a bit more myself on a sim, could hear a lot more clearly when I was slipping or sliding
