I loved it. Just when you thought you knew what was happening you find out things are not as they seem. Danielle MacDonald is brilliant. Loved the female characters and the attitude of Jamie Dornans character to women. It could have a sequel but might be best left as it is. Would love to see some out takes or deleted scenes. It feels like there would have been some fun on set. Great writing as expected from these two. Interesting story. Brilliant cinematography.

I thought the ending was perfect. The question was posed whether a person is defined by past or recent actions and what is the meaning of redemption. The answer was given in that final text.

I just saw the last episode but couldn't make out what the final text from Helen to Elliot said. Do you remember what it said? Loved the entire show, the characters and dialogue was brilliant and the whole thing had such a unique feel to it. Such a good mix of drama, thrills and comedy. Excellent. Edit: I found out what the text was (I was so impatient I didn't wait for the end of the video to tell me! Cheers.

I was hooked from the start!! Could not leave it alone, was on the edge of my seat through each episode. Have watched them all now, including the last one today. I tried hard to take in all the details and was still a little baffled at the end, and did want a credible ending. Great escapism from our dreary world today. Love Jamie Dornan, that Irish accent is so attractive! Couldn’t believe we didn’t see a single fly, good job by the film crew to edit them out. Would thoroughly recommend!!

The story is so cleverly written. The actors are great and the Australian setting gives a edgy feeling throughout the story. Beautifully filmed. I can't wait for Season 2 on Feb. 29, 2024.

I really enjoyed this series. There was always enough going on to keep you attentive, so one of the better storyline’s I’ve seen recently. I was surprised at liking Jamie Dornan in The Fall as I am not a 50 shades fan. Then I thought he was great in The Tourist also, so converted to a fan. I also enjoyed that Danielle McDonald had such a big role. She played a non stereotypical hero and it was nice to see the underdog win. I also liked the Australian setting.

I loved her! Her character was so relatable. I loved how he encouraged her while her fiancé did not believe in her at all. Jamie’s character I also loved but would love to see him try to redeem himself for his past.

I’ve been thinking a lot about it. I like it just the way it was! You can’t just make up a new story because we all want season 2. Everybody’s always out for that cash grab and I miss the days of just telling a good story and that’s it, OVER. No way season 2 will ever do it justice , it could only ruin the first season. As it stands, I will remember this for a long time as perfection if they just end it with the 1 season. 🌯

I’m not sure why the other reviewers said there were holes in this mini series. I think it was all wrapped up like a neat little burrito. I love Australian Film and TV. They are weird and quirky and not as clichéd as a lot of Hollywood stuff can be. I thought the setting was amazing and the acting brilliant. Was so great to see ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ in such a role. He was intense! I did agree that it was very Fargo-esk and it reminded me a lot of another great Aussie film, Two Hands. A refreshing change from all those series out there that keep going for the money rather than the story telling; losing the idea by season 3! Give it a go, only 6 episodes. Knock em down like a dirty martini 🍸

I enjoyed this series and watched it on i- player over 2 nights, so I admit I was hooked! Loved the performances, especially the two main characters. Superb!! Would have given it 5 stars, had it not been for the somewhat inconclusive ending! Maybe I'm just being a bit old-fashioned, - don't think so, as I loved the dark humour and many twists and turns in the plot, - but I wanted a clearer ending, one way or the other! The actual ending scene left a major unanswered question and I felt disappointed and a bit let down as a result- unless another series is planned, that is, so we can be enlightened?

Halfway through the whole series on iplayer and I like it. Perhaps it’s because I can relate to the Northern Irish humour and the quirky characters. It’s probably best not to take the whole thing too seriously as it really is black comedy. Another reviewer suggested ask the police or Irish Embassy to obtain his identity! I think they missed the point as without the amnesia there is no story snd it would more than likely be the British Embassy not the Irish! I’m also not sure what comedy double act they are referring to or perhaps the reference is to avoid spoiling the plot but I actually found that to be a very important revelation. I’m happy for Jamie Dornan to be playing the lead and he shifts from the sweet lost soul to the the ruthless darker persona very well. It’s worth the binge viewing.

This seem to have really divided opinion but i loved it. Not really familiar with any of the cast but I have driven these roads and stopped off in some of these type of places... so for me the locations and the australian characters were so true to my experience. People in remote places are so helpful to strangers. Other reviewers have commented on the disjointed story but for me i liked it much better than one where the plot is laid like a trail of breadcrumbs, you have to work out for yourself what is true. I was confused by the second episode but stuck with it and certainly by the end I felt like I had been through the wringer with the cast. I also like the fact this it moved neatly between moments of horror (the killings) menace (the policewoman interviewing the truck driver) and absolute farce (the body falling into the well or the cop dumping her awful gaslighting partner). All the way through i was struggling with 'was he a good man in trouble or a bad man getting what he deserved', so the plot twist in last episode was a bit of a shocker. I dont really care about gaps in the plot as in reality ther are plot gaps in life and I don't like simple linear storylines however well told. Liked Jamie Dornan having only seen him before as a serial killer. Liked that the policewoman wasn't the stereotype beauty..(.I am so bored with us shows where I spend my time trying to work out how much plastic surgery the main characters have had). My only negative comment is that it reminded me of a show called Mystery Road but with moments of humour.

This started so well and then quickly became complete nonsense. It doesn't know what it wants to be: a Fargo-esque dark comedy or a gritty thriller, and in the end it's neither. Are the characters pastiches or poorly written stereotypes - who can say?! There's the likeable friendly woman cop who seems a bit daft but is actually smart, the wild west cowboy, the comedy double act brothers and the hot and complicated lead who has *cue B movie music* , AMNESIA. Unlike real amnesia, however, he just hasn't a clue who he is or where he is from, and I mean, how on earth can he find out? Ask the police or the Irish embassy? Nooooo, that would be too easy. So much of the dialogue is stilted and unnatural; I turned it off at "I can't drive stick", because that was the moment I knew this was being made for someone else. But there are some fine performances which makes it such a shame the script isn't up to much. Jamie Dornan does his best, and the police woman is excellent - as is the chief detective. They are the only reasons to watch.

Well, it's not being shown in Australia on the ABC, the reason surely that this is full of bad Australian stereotypes probably made for the international market. The dialog and acting made me cringe, it just wasn't natural, funny enough or even tightly written enough. Did anyone review the script at all? It comes across like a first draft written by someone quite inexperienced. Uses 3 sentences to say what could be in 1. Look at Cohen brothers movies (clearly an influence here), the dialog is snappy, it never feels like space or time is wasted. If that had happened, the perhaps the pace would be such that the terrible plot holes and implausibilities be missed. Irish accent? Call the embassy! Bomb blast? Police interviews, every Sydney anti terrorist cop not bothered? Toilet key, but open door round the back? The Tourist really suffers as a result, as did I. Sadly it's one of the worst TV shows I've seen for a while, and sadder still because it could have been so easily been pretty good with a days more work in the writing stage.

The show doesn't really have a lot of dialog, so not sure where in the world you got the 3 sentences lines from, I'd presumed you had watched the wrong show. Although you talk about other things. To say this sounds like a first script in what way, because saying that makes you look stup id when it has constant call backs, and make sure it has consistent reveals, to call it no draft, again makes you sound not all their. You don't have to like it just don't say things that make no sense. A bomb yes I understand that it wasn't handled properly although actually we don't know because we only saw the local police part we didn't see what happened after, not sure they have to worry about the IRA in Australia, so not sure why you are making that genuinely idio tic link. The bathroom one makes no sense as that's a backdoor for maintaince, not sure what is going through your head if you think people walk through the rubbish to get to the toilet... Obviously you don't like the show, however your critism is embarrassingly poor and factually inaccurate.
