The idea of a town manager that does absolutely nothing yet the townsfolk think he is keeping the town alive is funny

Great to hear you again reading a Ligotti story. You have the perfect narration style for these wonderful weird stories

Echoing other commenters here, your narration style is perfect for Ligotti's work. Keep it up man!

If you haven't already, would you consider narrating Purity by Thomas Legotti? It's the first story in Teatro Grotessco. I've just stumbled upon this author after a reddit search for "Books that are like Silent Hill". So far, I'm absolutely loving his work. I've read Purity and the Town Manager. I listened to your narration of Gas Station Carnivals (that was actually the story that the reddit people suggested). I'm about to continue reading. Thank you for the top tier narrations. You are a God send.

In a lot of ways I think this story can be seen as a kind of satire. You know when you're in a job for a while and you see bosses come and go, and they're usually always useless but they always want to "establish their mark" on the workplace, no matter how short their time is? This reminds me a lot of that.

This would happen as a teacher all the time. A new curriculum is brought, a new learning philosophy. We are brought in to dozens of professional developments with excited personnel practically announcing the second coming of Christ. Posters are laminated, ringed books passed out to be memorized, new routines to do. We’d go and see a demo in a classroom of this exciting new routine in action. Within a few months, it would begin to be abandoned. The ringed books left to gather dust in your personal bookshelf. The posters hanging forgotten, forsaken until the next curriculum, the next “big idea.”

Exactly how I read it as well, read it on the subway coming back from working late because of executive fuckery and the story clicked so hard. It cracked me up but also terrified me.

I Have a Special Plan for this Municipality, as it were o_0 (Glad you're back! So...would now be good time to propose a full-blown video/reading of 'My Work Is Not Yet Done'? :P Keep up the good work!)

Another great work from you. Suburban warlords, fighting wars along the freeways, perhaps subject to some distance, intangible higher lord. Who is appointing these lords? Where do they come from? & where did the narrator escape to?

Is this a reupload? I'm sure I remember hearing DUSTROY TROLY in your voice before... I've been listening and reading loads of Ligotti lately, am I experiencing some sort of Ligotti-oversaturation deja vu?

Need more pauses. The reader needs time to process each thought, hearing it like this is like speed-reading.
