It felt so surreal to be in the shadow of what is technically considered to be an ACTIVE VOLCANO, but we had so much fun on this travel day! Thanks for watching and we hope to see you around! Now we want to know: would you ride for hours on a bumpy / potentially nausea-inducing public bus to save a few bucks? or would you try to arrange private transport?

Thank you so much for the video!! I plan to go to fortuna by bus from San José in August! I also plan on traveling to Puerto Viejo Limón which is very far- but I’m hoping to get more guidance with that.

That's so exciting!! You'll have to let us know how your trip goes!!
It was such a fun experience! The public bus was a really unique way to see the Costa Rican countryside.

What a scenic drive - that passing truck was kinda scary, but cruising through a fluffy cloud, awesome! The volcano is such a beautiful backdrop and everything is soooo green and lush!

It looks so lush and warm there 😍 something we are definitely missing at the moment 😂 the food you got at Soda looked incredible 🤤 and the banana milkshake! 🍌Are there a lot of other tourists there at the moment?
@RuthandThomas2 жыл бұрын
We saw a TON of tourists at the airport, but then after that point everywhere we went didn't seem overly busy! We wondered if going right after Christmas/New Years was maybe a slower time since people were going back to work and school.

Glad you showed the name of the restaurant when you liked it. I think it’ll be helpful for those that visit the city. 😍

We eat at the “soda” restaurants in Costa Rica and we love them all. And in La Fortuna we did the hanging bridges and we recommend that. You guys are brave to take the bus. Have a great time. 👍
@RuthandThomas2 жыл бұрын
They are so great and affordable and delicious!! We were going to do hanging bridges in Monteverde, but then ended up going to the Santa Elena Cloud Forest instead, so we still need to find some bridges at some point!! And this was actually our best bus ride in Costa Rica haha.. They got progressively hotter and longer. 🤣

Hi! Amazing video, thank you :) Does the bus have luggage rack? Also, how did you know about the bus schedule for the day? Thank you!
@RuthandThomas2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for checking out our video! Yes, the bus had space underneath for bigger luggage bags and then overhead shelves for smaller bags on the bus, but lots of times we kept our day packs at our feet for safety. As far as bus schedule, this one was definitely a little more confusing. We tried going to the bus station, but there were so many different bus companies and many of the booths weren't open. We ended up asking a guy who was standing around (sort of looked like an employee) and he told us that you couldn't get the tickets in advance and you just had to show up at a certain time. We also had a really helpful Airbnb host who ended up knowing the bus schedule as well! Overall, it wasn't very clear and we just made sure to ask lots of questions!

So I first read the title screen as LA For Tuna, and thought why would they travel to California just for tuna? :) Thank you Ruth for fact checking yourself! And props for finding both cheap transport and food! Where’s the bloopers?
@RuthandThomas2 жыл бұрын
Hahaha that would be a great thumbnail! We'll have to make a sequel when we make it out to Cali! We decided to incorporate some of our more bloopery stuff throughout the video this time since a lot of people don't make it to the end anyway. Changing things up! Let us know what you think!

Oh we're DEFINITELY going to Turkey this year! We have friends who are moving there and we plan on visiting them ASAP! So many beautiful places to see. We were actually supposed to go to Israel & Turkey in 2020, but then Covid happened.

We loved La Fortuna too!! For such a popular place it felt pretty quaint and not over developed. And yes, the whole time we were in CR I was blown away by how those drivers just plow forward at crazy speeds even around tight corners! I guess they know what they're doing!! 😬

Hi I’m considering taking the bus from San Jose to La Fortuna. Are there multiple busses a day or, just one ?
@RuthandThomas2 жыл бұрын
When we were traveling it seemed that there was only one bus, but I would go to the bus station the day before you're planning to travel and ask around about the schedule!!

I’m surprised you guys aren’t spreading out your content weekly since I’m guessing you’ll take a break when the baby comes. Unless you are me taping Melissa while she was in her contractions 😂. Thanks for transporting me to a different world! Melissa would ask to stop to pet the livestock there. Volcanos freak me out! Going viral with an eruption - yay or nay. Batnado would be a great movie! Go feed the pregnant lady! Great trip so far!

Yeah we've actually been trying to figure out what to do with our video schedule. On the one hand it would be nice to have a bunch of backlogged footage to continue releasing while we're getting the hang of parenting... but it's also nice to be posting somewhat current videos, so people can see where we are in the world. We don't know!!! Haha I'm going to say yay for the eruption!!! If we didn't die it would be a pretty epic experience!! 😂
