I have the same bike Z900 and the trackside wheel chock; at first I needed someone to help me to take the bike off by standing over the bar; but later I tried to reverse the chock rail by short side in and long side out, and I put the pivot bolts into the first holes inside, and do not over tight the bolts, then I would be able to take my bike off the chock by myself; also make sure you roll your bike left and right for a few times to clear the tire vacuum seal first before you roll it off.

Excellent comment. Thank you. I’ll try that. I’ve noticed the z900 tire does get wedged in there pretty good and it takes a lot of force to dislodge it sometimes. I was starting to think I may have to widen the mouth of the trackside but I’ll try your suggestions.

Thanks for the video. Convinced me to get a Trackside stand vs something more expensive. Great example showing how stable it is compared to cheaper stand.

Thanks for the video. Ended up getting the trackside. I use it in the bed of my truck during transport. It holds the bike very securely and upright while I put in the tie downs.

I may be wrong but I think the front tire of your heavier bike is thinner and is the reason why it is moving so much compared to the other.. try putting the kawasaki in the red chock and see if it happens still.

Plus the ebay stand is adjusted for 17 tire and the Honda is 18. It doesn't allow the chock to tighten to the tire.

This. Chocks are pretty specific to a given size of tire. That's all that going on

The love the trackside; it also allows the bike to come out smoother if the bolt is moved forward. I also tie down my trackside chock when i trailer the bike.
@karloman002 жыл бұрын
You moving the swivel bolt forward made the bike smoother to extract?

Question for you. I'm buying a VFR 800F. I like this chock but don't really want to mount it to the bed of my Tacoma (much like what you said). Do you think if it was attached to a healthy piece of plywood and the rest of the bike secured adequately with straps, it would be safe for transport? Thanks. Rick

Thank you for making the video, very informative, I am purchasing a Trackside.

110/80 18 vs 120/70 17 tire. It seems obvious the narrow tire is not the same nor the stand is not adjusted for bigger 18 wheel. It is adjusted for 17 wheel. That's what the swivel front adjustment is for to allow bigger wheel. Switch the bikes and you have the same problem with the Trackside wheel chock holding the Honda. Nothing wrong with the ebay chock. Actually better because it tighten to the tire when rolled on. Not on yours of course as it is not adjusted for the 18 tire and it is not on proper far enough on the stand leaving it loose.

And yet it was done wrong.

Perhaps the 100 width spec tire of the Honda, which is thinner than most contemporary sportbikes, is not optimal for the Sport chock by Baxley. Did you try and put the Kawasaki in the Baxley? That Z900 has a 120 width.
@paulboyce8537 Жыл бұрын
It is 110 but never the less the ebay stand is adjusted for 17 tire and the Honda is 18. Of course it is not going to hold as the bike is not far enough on the stand.

Look into the Condor wheel choke.

Nice, but What is the price difference? I'd like to know that, Thanks

Good question. I think the eBay one was like $60 and the trackside is like $100. But if you look on OfferUp you’ll find them pretty often listed for $40. That’s how I usually pick them up.

My bike just fell down from ebay chock. Exactly same happened to me. My brand new bike only 20km done got big hurt. side of my car also damaged.
@AverageCarGuy2 жыл бұрын
Oh man. Sorry to hear that. I think with the eBay set you really need to use fasteners to hold the bike down.
@paulboyce8537 Жыл бұрын
@@AverageCarGuy Rubbish. Just adjust it to suit. Your fleebay is not adjusted for 18 wheel and that's why it is loose. That's why this video gives the wrong message. Your other stand doesn't even tighten to the tire. The fleebay stand is lot better if operated correct. Put the 110/80 18 on the black stand and your problem is amplified. Even that black stand does have an adjustment to suit the 18 tire.

great video, question is the trackside easy to roll off chock, thks
@AverageCarGuy Жыл бұрын
depends on the size of your tire and whether or not you have it bolted down. If you have wider front tire and the unit is not bolted then the tire will want to pull the unit up with it which is a pain. But if you bolt it to the ground you're all set, very easy.

Red one is like one I bought and I sent it back... One nudge and the bike will go over onto its side. = FAIL. Its scary as. Red one doesnt reach up high enough on the front. I wanted to invert the front V to hold the wheel at a higher point.
@adminjava13 жыл бұрын
Helpful regarding the red stand’s limitations, but could you put the red bike on the black stand? It’s not clear if the black stand would hold the heavier bike. Yours was an Apples and oranges comparison.
@AverageCarGuy3 жыл бұрын
I have bought a second black on since and the heavier bike is always in the black one and I can tell you that it is 100% solid.
@paulboyce8537 Жыл бұрын
If you look the red stand is adjusted to 16/17 tire and the Honda is 18. Of course it won't work. Plus he knows it as he was going around your question and not answering it.

Thanks for video. Maybe show difference removing bikes from stands.

The red one is a Bexley sport chock clone/knockoff. As others have said you need to adjust it.

I get it everyone wants to save money while getting best bang-for buck. As in helmets, whats your head worth. So whats your bike worth? I wouldn’t buy a $50 stand or choke for a $10K bike.
@tobylopez445 Жыл бұрын
the red chock is made for 16inch front tires that are a bit fatter or wider, that bike's tires are too thin.
@paulboyce8537 Жыл бұрын
Actually 16-19. Where it is adjusted on the video is for 16/17 and the Honda is 18. Of course it won't work.

You can practice your body position for lean angle on the eBay unit 😂.

SERIOUSLY NO ONE SPOTTED THAT THE RED STAND WAS ADJUSTED FOR 16/17 TIRE AND THE HONDA IS 18. OF COURSE IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK.

Red one not good same for may stand
@paulboyce8537 Жыл бұрын
Adjust it to suit your bike. Just like this video the stand is not adjusted for the bike and won't tighten to the tire.
