When you say the truck is “not starting” does that mean the engine won’t start, but the starter is working just fine? I’m having the same issue and trying to diagnose.

I had an ‘88 & that amount of play in the steering is not normal & is obviously attributed to the age of the truck among other possibilities. Cruise control in a late 80’s vehicle was not a rarity by any means.

I saw your link for the Jensen CarPlay unit, but could you share any advice for mounting it? Thanks!
@AverageCarGuy12 күн бұрын
@@bruce949 I would definitely find the right harness adapter and buy it with the unit so you don’t have to cut any wires. Otherwise it mounts quite easily.

My dealer hinted the 992.2 might be a 4.2 litre car, and since my delivery was Nov 2024 - I thought my 992.1 touring would take a hit versus the .2 car. Being a “value” buyer I’m quite relieved how things turned out, as well being in Canada - dealers sell at MSRP! (No overs, except on previously owned cars!). I think the front on the new GT3 is ugly and given I had a Gt3RS - the Weissach package isn’t of interest to me.

I just did this job to my new evolution Classic 2. I used a relay to prevent the continuous draw from the converter. Wiring in the relay will stop the draw until the key is on. Here is a easy instruction. Relay connections are 30, 85, 86, 87A, and 87. 30 goes to the 48v battery positive with a heaver wire. 85 goes to the key switch. Yes, take off the cup holder panel to access, use switched side. 86 is ground. 87A is not used. 87 goes to positive on fuse panel. Battery negative can go to negative on fuse panel. I glued mine on inside of cart body on the passenger side with Alien Tape. Cover the exposed areas below to prevent water splashing up. Good to go!

The 22re might have been very reliable back in the 80's. The only engines I've blown up is a 22r, and I managed to blow up two in my 83 pickup.

Those five complaints can be easily assessed. 1. It’s a track car no need for keyless entry. It’s not meant to be a daily driver. 2. you can have the track screen during sport mode. If you go into the settings, you can set it using the knob on the steering wheel. This way you have the consolidated view while in sport mode. 3. You can set the garage door opener to be the memory key that’s on the steering wheel. It’s easy to set up and with one button you could open and close your garage. 4. This is a car with the wishbone front end. Of course we’re going to bump. It’s supposed to be like that. 😅😅😅

I was offered an allocation for the 992.2 GT3/touring. This .2 version is the first one where the car is objectively worse. It's WAY more expensive, has a lot of additional emission filters added which add weight and muffle sound (the two things you absolutely don't want on a GT3), and the analog tach has been changed to digital (it's clear that Porsche could absolutely keep the analog on this version since they kept the ignition turn switch). I honestly can't justify purchasing this at all, it feels like an insult.

Another not minor thing IMO is the reduced amount of torque produced as a result of EU regulations. Therefore the 8% gearing reduction for no performance improvement.
@AverageCarGuyАй бұрын
I like how they tried to pass that off as an improvement while we all know the real reason behind the change. The 992 GT3 is very likely the very last NA GT3 that doesn't have ev components.

My 991.2 gt3 was $155,000 the wanted $275,000 for a new 992. I told them forget it. The 992.2 is $40,000 MORE . I traded mine in on a new Lamborghini huracan technica. If Porsche is going to charge Lamborghini and Ferrari money for my gt3 I’m going to buy a Lamborghini. For the first time ever the GT3 is cheaper in Canada whose dollar is worth 70 US cents. That shows you it’s a pure cash grab by corporate. And it’s only got 500 horsepower. The Gallardo had 500 hp TWENTY YEARS AGO!!!. They’ve lost their minds. I am pretty happy that Porsche helped me get my new Lamborghini. Ive driven 911s for 25 years, but Porsche forgot who made them successful.
@AverageCarGuyАй бұрын
I agree. It would have been pretty easy for them to make the new car more compelling. Adding 30 more HP would have gone a long way and it's well within their capability to do that. For a $60k price increase I would expect 50+HP, active aero, more adjustable suspension like the RS, and then some.

Very similar to how I did mine, except I 3d printed a housing to have the camera flush mounted to the little oval hole in the bumper. It worked out great.

A couple of points. If you are tracking price on bring a trailer, you should be including the buyers premium. That is actually what the car traded hands for and likely why bring a trailer prices are slightly lower because they contemplate buyers premium. Dealer cars sell for higher prices, as often they are certified and have extended warranties. I agree 100% that a 5 to 10% increases likely over the next 3 to 6 months given the fact that Porsche did not move the needle at all with the 992 release. A 50 mK increase is going to push buyers into the CPO 992.1 market quickly. Now is the time to act as sellers and dealers will quickly start adjusting Prices on preowned 992.1 GT3 inventory over the next month.
@refuztosay94542 ай бұрын
So Porsche is telling us - that, they are fully woke, like their EU masters, and hate ICE cars and ICE customers. To that end they will: dull the roadmap of innovation and improvements; jack up base pricing; load up high tier trims will frivolously expensive packages to boost average selling prices, and take way meaningful touch points to the past (delete things ICE customers like such as analog tachs and turn keyed ignition). Thus side benefit is to also shift more of the market pricing to Porsche as opposed to the all-important speculator class that snap up the best models, abuse them for KZbin content and then flip them straight back to the dealer who then marks them up $40 to $90k for resales as certified used. To wit - the Porsche finder shows 2 new 911 turbos and 25 pre owned 2024s in dealer inventory in the USA (disgusting 10:1 ratio highlighting a wholly dysfunctional marketplace.). So, expect to have EVs force fed down your throat by Porsche whilst ICE technology stagnates, with extorted pricing; but is still used to rape the loyal customers in order to fund the money-losing EV product line. Have a nice day. Btw - the video format and content was great!
