I would like to add to the video that: every time you ready a trade, i.e lock the box with everything you want, a SCRIPTED Aurora will appear on the same day at night, it can even change the current weather if you decide to do it at night, then the Aurora will immediately happen without fail. From my experience and reading other CC's and people's experience I have never had this not happen, it is scripted every time! Great video, you covered everything perfectly!

I can confirm after doing about 20 different trades that you are correct. I've literally been in the middle of a blizzard, dropped off the last little bit of water and within two real-world minutes there was a Aurora

Anyone have the scripted aurora bugged? I'm doing the first trade, the aurora was bugged, radio wasn't working. In fact, almost nothing about the aurora was right. No lights on, no radio, only the aurora lights in the shy, and the computer in the gas station was on, but you could not interact with it. Now I'm waiting for another aurora.

@ was it still early in the evening ? Or did the entire aurora pass through the entire night without anything happening ? Because I have never heard/experience your case. I only know that when I did the trade too early, the aurora lights appeared but I need to pass another hour or 2 to get the radio working

So, which is better, the survival knife, or cougar claw knife? And can you obtain more of the knives from Sutherland, or just the one?

The cougar claw knife is specifically for self defense in struggles, and it’s the best weapon you can use for a struggle. I believe it is equally as effective as the hunting knife in regards to time spent harvesting but it’s best to not put wear and tear on the cougar knife just to cut up some curtains or to quarter an animal, use the hunting knife or survival knife for those tasks instead.

Yep, as mentioned I think the cougar claw knife if more aimed at struggles. Does about the same as far as harvesting. The survival knife from the trader however, haven't tested it out much yet but I assume it might harvest quicker. I'll let you know if I find out hehe

@@leopardtrixgaming Sadly someone did a test. The harvest speed is the same. Cougar knife is better for struggles. So a cougars little teeth is better than a military grade knife that's harder to get? Annoying.

@@leopardtrixgaming I don't get how as well. They should've made the trade requirement for the survival knife steeper. Maybe trade 3 cougar teeth, hide and so on so it ups the stakes.

Question On my 3rd Trader special request I went to bunker in Bleak Inlet, the bunker was empty but I got a box from that bunker. I came back to treding dock but it now allow me to put the box in. Any idea why. anything I have to do in the bunker?

Oh so even though it wasnt one of the filled bunkers, you still found the loose bricks and therefore the documents? Hmmm that is strange, must be another bug or some kind. Though if you can continue the tale I guess it's fine? hehe

@@Sam-km7wx I believe so. As long as you have the trader set on for your save, I assume the items he offers are the same. At least I havent heard of any limitations based on difficulty level.

Is necessary to do it in right order i guess right? because i just found the hunter cache and there is nothing i can do here. So i guess i have to complete request 1 first.

Yep, it does follow a specific sequence of requests so unfortunately indeed you'll have to do it in order :)

Thanks for making this guide! It’s quite helpful, quick question do I have to take the items out of the box he leaves for me to start another trade? Or can I start another one straight away and grab my reward at the same time as I drop off more stuff for him

I think you do yes, I think the trade box locks after every interaction, so when you complete a trade or pick up items. I felt like I definitely had to follow a sequence of actions. Not 10000% sure tho, I can try check in my footage.

Yes you do, the trader is always unavailable before you take the items out, you can test it yourself when you put the items in and ready trade which locks the box, then a scripted Aurora will appear, you signal to him, and the trader becomes unavailable -> can't be traded with. Then you go pick up your reward, go back immediately -> the trader is immediately available to trade and talk to. Note you can only do that in Coastal Highway so do prepare

I believe you should still be able to, as long as those loose bricks are there :) I had been to the bunkers already as well in my save so it shouldnt be a problem!

Thanks this is helpful. In my case only TWO bunkers out of nine bunkers were stocked. The hunter's bunker is nowhere to be found, so I was unable to complet the mission. I checked all bunkers twice.

I've had that happen a few different times. One of the times it was the bunker with the Special revolver in it. Another time that bunker did spawn but it's spawned in Ash Valley so the collector's rifle didn't spawn

@TheDachshundhistorian That is a very good question! In all honesty I have not tried, I know the bushcraft bow is a blueprint so you can craft more of course. But the rifle... hm I feel like not as its a special variant like the others which you also only find one of in a save. Wouldnt that be too good to be true, hehe :)

@@leopardtrixgaming At least I know to get all my gear and materials out of the prepper abandoned cache before completing the Trader quest. I already went through one iteration of losing virtually all the gear and materials I had stored there when the prepper caches were added back to the game. I could use the other prepper cache down the valley though way less convenient. Blowing up that place because of what it cost me might soothe my feelings about losing all that stuff (Hinterland said Lost and Found failed to execute so that's why my stuff was lost). Nice work.

@4k8t I guess the other prepper caches should be good but just ths one near rope climb to twm, would be smart to get ur stuff. Sucks you lost all ur stuff previously!
