The Trafford Line Tram Ride - Manchester Metrolink - Cornbrook to Trafford Centre

Hello everyone and welcome to Manchester! We are embarking today on a journey across Manchester and Trafford, as we travel from Cornbrook in Central Manchester to Trafford Metropolitan borough (in the West of Greater Manchester region) abord the Manchester tram network, The Metrolink.
Manchester Metrolink is a tram network in Greater Manchester, England. The network has 99 stops along 103 kilometres (64 mi) of standard-gauge route, making it the most extensive light rail system in the United Kingdom. The network consists of eight lines which radiate from Manchester city centre to termini at Altrincham, Ashton-under-Lyne, Bury, East Didsbury, Eccles, Manchester Airport, Rochdale and Trafford Centre. It runs on a mixture of on-street tracks shared with other traffic; reserved track sections segregated from other traffic, and converted former railway lines.

I have to say, that entrance is grim! But I mean I come from Bury so can hardly say anything, the interchange isn't exactly a palace!

It is absolutely grim - having said that, this whole area is in the middle of a massive regeneration project, so things will improve in time. Also, as mentioned in the video, although it’s one of the busiest stops on the network, not many people actually begin their journey here, it’s almost all people switching trams between the different lines.

You were probably not aware that as the tram left the War Museum stop and turned left we passed the Coronation Street set . The final road was BArton Dock Road

No, for Old Trafford, best way is to get to Old Trafford is to take the Purple Line to the Old Trafford Station then walk about 500m. Or take the bus, whichever is quicker. There is also a train station nearby.

To get to old trafford on match days, I do east didsbury - cornbrook then trafford centre tram to wharfside then its a short walk to the ground. It gets me to the correct side of the ground for my seat. All depends on where you're starting your journey from 😀
