I know Guy in person. I have been to Mahe 2 times with my father once in november 2021 and then in march 2023. I know anse intendance really well. At my first visit it was like a jungle path with sticks and stones leading to the beach. At my second visit the jungle was gone and it was just a flat, normal path. That was kind of sad. We did a private boat tour with Guy around the island at my second visit. He told us about all of the stuff happening on the island, a very nice guy who knows everything what‘s going on there. I don’t really get why the had to remove all of those trees. Why couldn’t they just replace the already existing area of banyan tree with the new houses? Why always more and more? Such a shame what tourism does with the environment…

What a shit show. Literally. Shocking that the 5-star hotels are given carte blanche to destroy this beautiful island and the powers that be are behind this wreckage. Greed is a terrible thing. Thanks for bringing this to our attention - Guy is truly a man of integrity.

They didn´t destroy a piece of the forest but the break down an existing hotel resort. The Banyan Tree Seychelles was such a nice and beautifil resort. Maybe a little used and it was time for a renovation but it was far away from run down. Very sad is they broke down the main building of the resort. This house was much older than the resort. Before the resort was build it was the house of goerg harrison (The Beatles) and the actor peter seller. The were friends and build this beautifil white wooden vila in the late 60s. Now all this is gone and on the satelite images you can see put 3-4 times more buildings on this piece of land. Looks totally packed now. This is the real greed so they can put 3 times more people on the same area. The Anse Intendance beach was on of the most beautiful beaches in the world and maybe you have seen the beach in a few commericals over the years. Nobody knows what this beach looks like now.

@@AndreGerritzen Hey Andre! I know this place very well as I wrote on my comment under this video. I just searched up on google earth… What did they do? I thought only the part of the beach where banyan tree was, has been used for houses. But as I see now it‘s the WHOLE beach. What the hell… Is this all for cheval blanc? That‘s so sad omg…

@@theyeee821 It´s look terrible on google earth. Before the rebuilding there were small villas along the beach with garden and walls between them. Now it is a 700 m long line of massive houses.
