The sad thing is that kids don't need "go-go juice". They have energy to run and jump and play. But the fact that she needed it shows how poor and nutrition deprived her diet was, and that she was so sluggish and fatigued is terrible for anyone but ESPECIALLY a child. Really sad, as I think we all know now.

What’s better than caffeine is music. If you had kids who always jumps, runs and plays when it’s daytime. Play some clean pop music or children’s music to help them get up and move around. Which is good exercise. Never feed them caffeine! Feed them with music.

Actually Caffeine is great for many kids with ADHD I remember the caffeine buzz would mellow me out. The reason being many kids with ADHD are not hyper because they are they have to much energy but because they lack chemical stimulation in their brain and thus are running around like a crack head looking for anything entertaining/stimulating that can act as a fix. This is why hyper fixation is a thing you basically gave what is a person going through withdrawal a fix. I was on Ritalin then Adderall until I had the self control required to go without it by the time I started middle school.

@@Silver_wind_1987_ My younger daughter actually performed a science experiment for her class showing how much damage soda can do to your teeth when she was in elementary school! She used eggshells that were soaked in Coke, Diet Coke, ginger ale, and water to mimic the effects of soda on teeth (I know, eggshells aren’t teeth, but they were a reasonable substitute and easily obtained!), and the results were quite clear! We didn’t think to soak any in Mountain Dew or energy drinks, but it’s easy to see how she could revamp and expand on this for her classmates now-she’s in high school now, and so many of her classmates practically mainline this crap on top of vaping like there’s no tomorrow. Does anyone know if children on reality shows have financial protection like child actors are supposed to? Child actors are supposed to have their earnings put into a trust that they can access when they turn eighteen; this is to prevent their parents/guardians from taking all their earnings and leaving them with nothing. Sadly it doesn’t always stop their money from being stolen, but it’s meant to provide protection. I wonder if reality show children have that too or if the producers think different rules apply to them.

On the topic of how reality tv can ruin a persons life, let's talk about Alana. She's talked about how she's struggled to make friends because everyone who wanted to be her friend just wanted bragging rights. They also come for her because they think she's rich, when that's further from the truth. And because of the drama in the show, and in her real life, she's retired the Honey Boo Boo name. She's said that her and Mama June's relationship has been kind of broken. She really wants it to get better, but she doesn't know how time and effort it will take. Idk what going to happen to Alana in the future, all i hope is that she's ok because she's clearly going through a lot.

A long time ago, back when reality shows hit it's peak, someone told me that the reason they were so popular is because Americans love watching disaster families or people who are worst-off than they are so they can feel good and not feel guilty over their own faults. At the time, I didn't understand what that meant but after watching this video and seeing the drama around the movie Turning Red, something in my mind clicked. People, or rather adults, are so stressed out and repressed that they don't want to hear criticism on their lives so the media grabs the worst kind of people and put them on the TV so audiences can say to themselves: "At least I'm not like these losers." If they are faced with criticism, they lash out.

That's how reality shows have always been. Hells kitchen for example doesn't focus on the culinary aspect, it focuses on Gordon freaking out on people for their mistakes, shows like biggest loser mainly focus on the fat people throwing a tantrum or breaking down into a crying fit when trying to lose weight, nobody is really concerned about the actual progress of them going from fat to thin. People have always liked to laugh at others misery

Interviews with cast members on shows like Jersey Shore show that producers purposefully push people to extremes for camera fodder. The Jersey Shore cast members were stuck in a house where no outside communication was allowed, and there was, quite literally, *nothing* to do in the house but drink the copious liquor that was supplied and encouraged. They wouldn't get any contact with the outside world until they were unleashed to public venues, where fans would do cooky shit and further stress them out. Having a team of people film and edit your entire life to make it watchable by millions of people *fucks* with you. It's like you're constantly in fight or flight mode, because you never know when it's all going to spin out of control and ruin your life.

Psychologists did studies on various social media sites and found that humans are naturally drawn to negative content because psychologically it makes us feel a certain way, so we go out of our way to see more negative content even though by doing so me just make ourselves more sad or even enraged. It’s pretty interesting.

It should also be mentioned that during the height of June’s addiction, Alana’s sister Pumpkin/Lauren had to get emergency custody of her. I really feel bad for Alana. I can't imagine how bad it feels to see stuff like an entire South Park episode and even movies referencing her making fun of her. She's funny and charming and talented and deserves to get attention and fame but I just wish she hadn't gotten it through the avenues she had to and at such a young age. She went through some horrendous stuff on display for the world to see with almost no privacy a huge chunk of her life. I think she turned out remarkably well despite all those hardships though and if she wants to I think the sky is the limit for her potential in acting or comedy and hopefully going forward it will solely be up to HER to pursue it.

I wish an employee of TLC, or any other reality show production company, would come out with the outtakes of all of the kids and/or family members of said reality shows putting their hands up in front of the camera, yelling, "DON'T FUCKING RECORD ME, I'M SICK OF THIS SHIT!". It might just change some people's perception of these "family" shows. Other clips would do the same, like people completely breaking character and acting like someone entirely different when they think they can finally be their authentic selves without the cameras knowingly on them. I don't believe any reality TV show is real, and to be honest, that's probably the only reason I don't watch them. I can't believe any of it is genuine, so what's the point? The scripting isn't writing anything all that entertaining. It's only supposed to be entertaining for the fact that it's _"real",_ which it's not, so who cares? I know a lot of reality shows, likely this one, has genuinely unscripted moments in them, but as you said in the video, they at _least_ know they're being recorded. Most shows are heavily scripted and when they're not, they are trying to appease the expected storyline. I'd watch something where willing participants agree to be recorded 24/7 without any scripting, but fake reality shows just completely ruin themselves, the whole point is now pointless.

Sadly, reality tv thrives on drama. Anytime someone does have a freakout, all the producers/crew think is "Zoom in! Zoom in! Up the mic! Follow them! Money money money!" And perhaps what's more sad, the common person loves drama, too, so more emotional outbursts = more viewers. But yes, "reality" tv is far from reality. Other than maybe the first season of The Real World, where a bunch of random people were just doing whatever (albeit likely staged by the crew), no show has really been real. People fill predictable character roles, plot lines are created, drama is manufactured either by overzealous producers or editing, and the people happily go along with it for a few moments of supposed fame/infamy.

My only real experience with the show is from that one South Park episode, “Raising the Bar;” and while the skits were hilarious, this video really does make me realize that it’s easy to forget how much negative influence stems from the parent, and how much stems from the executives behind the camera.

1. If Georgians were smart they'd group up, get their guns and protest the making of that show, because nobody should ever see that. 2. Any one who firmly believes a tv show can accurately represent a community is quite naive. It can represent some people, But not all. Due to society being made by individuals.

TLC was in its earliest days known at "The Learning Channel" and was truly educational. Even endorsed by NASA. But due to network decay and rapid media consolidation (ie Disney buying Fox, etc) TLC died a painful death. Way back in 1995 TLC (with Discovery and History) was used by Republicans as a potential excuse to defund PBS. But in 2022 PBS looks like a masterpiece compared to TLC, Discovery and History channels now.

Remember when The Learning Channel was actually about learning stuff and the Magic School Bus? Yeah.................. Now it's stuff like this as well as teen pregnancy shows, kiddy pageants, and unstable relationships as well as broken marriages The fact that an educational channel had subjected itself to showcasing absolute filth just says quite a lot these days, also, no child should've gone through what this one did, and this whole thing in its entirety is both a tragedy and a monument of how far networks will go to get RaTiNgS, even if it means literal exploitation Also, on a side note, the reality television genre was a mistake
