Cruel twist of fortune: during the rollout they rolled out in the field: a minefield! Not kidding here. Happened 22 november 2003. Captain had heared of the Sioux City accident and was able to apply the lessons learned. All three crewmembers survived. However FE had enough of flying and retired there and then. My question to Denys, which I am surprised nobody is asking about, if the plane would not have to stay in the air for much longer period of time flying aross the Caspian sea to Kazahstan and attempted to emergency land in one of the three nearby airports, Nalchik, Vladikavkaz, Mahachkala would not it significantly increase the chances of a smoother landing and survival of everyone on board? According to one of the survivors after initial blasts and shakes the flight across the sea felt somewhat calm giving the chance for everyone to relax. It seems only toward the end the plane started to loose control.
@mikebarushok53612 күн бұрын
Actually it's quite the opposite. To assess the situation and determine what control they had available required going through some checklists and could not be completed in time for a short diversion to be easier. And with only indirect control via engine thrust avoiding hilly terrain and airports located in populated areas becomes important. Maintaining (mostly) level flight over a body of water gave them time to see how much or how little attitude control they could get from using the throttles. And they flew towards better weather.

Also we need a third black box called Cockpit Video recorder. and possible a Cabin blackbox.

There is a long tradition of downing civilian aircraft in this region of the world: Korean Airlines 902 (1978); Korean Airlines 007 (1983, both by Sovjet fighters); Transair Georgia (2x by Abchasian Separatists both 1983). Sibir 1812 (downed 2001 by a Ukranian shot that missed a target drone); MH17 (2014 by Russian Separatists or Russians in Ukraine) and now this one. It is really hard to believe that this little care was taken to make sure this aircraft is not getting even close to the combat zone while reports of Ukrainian attacks near Grozny are spread for over a month now.

Denys, you know the difference between an aircraft being shot down and one being damaged by missile shrapnel. Azerbaijan Flight J2-8243 was damaged but not shot down. The missile damage caused the emergency but the aircraft was still flyable, as evidenced by traveling from Baku to Aktau, then circling the airfield prior to crashing.

By that logic, No plane is ever shot down since it is still in the air until it hits the ground. Think about controlling an airplane with engine trust only, want to turn left increase power on the right engine but there is no way to bank so at best it has to skid through the air and if that wing does start to rise how do you get it back down again for straight and level flight? To climb increase thrust to both engines which will push the nose up but how do you get it back down, reduce thrust until the wings stall? Thats not flying, thats just changing the location of the crash site
@speedtrap4202 күн бұрын
Simply being damaged means it landed, crashing after being hit is in fact "shot down". How flyable is that aircraft you defend now?
@jhconjr2 күн бұрын
@@speedtrap420 It is likely that the aircraft crashed due to pilot error, not due to damage caused by the missile. It flew for an hour and then circled the airfiel twice before crashing.

Why would Russia take out a civilian plane and my point is how. Russia uses advanced air defences based on satalites and accuracy they would automatically not target any civilian aircraft as long as the aircraft had its transponders on and we know full well there was Russians on board the flight. So my guess was it was a drone that took it down possibly a Ukraine drone as the plane deviated off course and both pilots were dead but another thing maybe a suicide bomber on board forced his way into the cockpit

A suicide bomber in the cockpit or a drone designed to demolish ground targets somehow caused close-proximity air-burst shrapnel damage to the tail? Yeah, no - physics doesn't work that way, sorry.
