As a Viking fan in the '70s I hated the Raiders. What a dummy. Now I spend hours here watching Raiders stuff from that era and realize that my hatred was actually jealousy. The Stickum gang was awesome!

Raiders will always be, Oakland Raiders to me, no more Home Field in Vegas, maybe if they start winning, they might get more Raider fans, but it will never be like Oakland. I don’t think the Raiders will ever come back to Oakland, I think the Raiders are gone forever. Hope one day, the Raiders can start winning, in Vegas, like the early days in Oakland, can only hope, the Raiders have been horrible for over two decades.

When I was ten years old, my family had business in the Bay Area when the Raiders won Superbowl XV, I lived over 900 miles away. Our family were huge Raider fans. We went to the celebration parade. The players each had their own classy cars in the parade. It was raining buckets so there was a small turnout for the parade. They were allowing fans to go to the players and shake their hands or giving high fives. Here came my favorite player, The Tooz. He was acting like a madman and screaming with his head and body out the window, police were not allowing people approach John and had a motorcycle escort on either side of his car. I was able to run past the police and went to slap his hand. The Tooz grabbed me by my collar, picked me up and shook me around and screamed straight into my face. The police grabbed me and sent back on my way. I was 10 years old at the time.

True story if anyone is interested… When I grew up, John Matuszak was the previous resident. We lived a half hour from the Oakland coliseum. We never knew him personally, but everybody in our neighborhood did and they all had interesting stories. Our house had holes in the walls where he’d punched them. I also remember 2 wooden crates he left in our backyard. They were stamped in black ink with his name and I remember it said Houston, Texas At the time, I didn’t know he had been on the Houston Oilers, Prior to the Raiders..Later, it all makes sense. He was quit a character from what the neighbors said. Very aggressive guy in real life not just football. I’ll never forget my parents took us out of school because the Raiders had a parade when they won the Super Bowl in 1980. It was the coolest thing ever to see all these star athletes going through the streets of Oakland on Cadillacs and stuff. I remember seeing John Matuszak and he looked larger than life. He was huge, especially to a little kid. When he died at 38, I was shocked but not surprised. My neighbors told me about his drinking episodes and it wasn’t good. But, he was a helluva football player. The

When I was about 10 years old I met Jim Otto at a football clinic in Wiesbaden Germany. I was a Raiders fan from that point until they moved to Vegas. All the moves for money just got to me. I don't think I'll ever root for them again even if they move to Oakland. Because they'll just move again when someone gives them a new stadium or huge tax breaks.

I was born in the early 60’s and as I grew my love for the NFL paralleled my growing. I never had a favorite team, I was into the players and a love for the game as a whole. From Fran Tarkenton to Larry Csonka. Alan Page to Fred Biletnikoff. I dug the entirety of the NFL. Jets to Dolphins and Redskins to the Rams! It was, to me, the best time in the NFL! Watching games on TV, not for a team but, to see a defensive tackle destroy a QB or halfback or a QB chucking it downfield and a magnificent catch was made. I miss that in sports. 🫡🤙

It would thrill me to see the Raiders in Oakland again. However, Oakland has progressed even further down the crap hole than ever & is a run-down hell hole. Although I hardly watch the game anymore, I did make it to Las Vegas to watch the final game of the 2024 season. I hardly recognize the game anymore & it’s a far cry from the glory days of the Oakland magic they used to have. Those days are long gone, never to return again. I was born the same year the Raiders were in 1960 & will always be a Raider. My time on earth is almost over & after the last of my generation are gone, along with us the memories will be gone. I got to witness the greatest games that were ever played on a football field. Las Vegas??? Well, lots of people go there to lose their money & it’s a shame the once mighty Raiders have found their place as losers in the city of sin.

I grew up when they were in Oakland. To me, they'll always be The Oakland Raiders. I think if you change cities you should change the name of the team. Start your own legacy and leave them theirs. If they come back to the same city you can jave your old name back. Like the Browns and Ravens.

The Raiders are now and forever will be THE team in VEGAS! Oakland is the Genesis city for the RAIDERS, however, they never could give the team a decent stadium to play in. They had the BLACK HOLE fan base but they didn't have financial backing to be successful in Oakland. Vegas is too perfect for this team and it's history!
