I got 2 reasons why hawk is nerfed: 1. After that victory in s4, Hawk’s popularity in the fandom ridiculously increased, but that also takes off the attention of Miguel and Robby and the writers didn’t rly like that so they wanted to punish his character by making him look like a demetri lvl threat. 2. Hawk hold back a lot because he is afraid that he might slip back into his old aggressive cobra Kai bully persona again and might ruin the friendships he made with Robby, Miguel, Demetri, Sam, Kenny, Devon, and Tory.

I wished Hawk took a mentor role to Kenny considering they both had similar paths in joining CobraKai, going too far and trouble channeling their anger. Then it becomes something he enjoys and that causes conflict in his story with Demetri because now he's not sure MIT is what he wants to do. Because the OGs no longer seem invested in Karate anymore they can pass on their skills to the new blood Kenny and Devon. You can still show how strong Hawk is by training Kenny without taking the spotlight because maybe he gives up his Sekai Tekai spot to Kenny and Kenny carrys the torch by using some of Hawks moves.

He’s a peak character still I think. He beat Robby legitimately. In season 4 If round 3 hadn’t ended because of the time limit, he would’ve ended it right there. He had Robby on the ground, it was over. When he loses past this point, it’s only ever to new opponents or because he’s asked to hold back (in the case when he fought Kenny). He holds himself back not to fall back into that bad place he was in. S6 showed him still tough, but also respectable, like when he stayed loyal to his girlfriend even when other girls were hitting on him.

Hawk is a good analogy as a character for Cobra Kai itself. It had an interesting unique character that was a flawed hero but after being forced to shift their morality the show both abandons Cobra Kai as the central entity to make everything about Miyagi Do and shifts anything highlighting Hawk away back towards Daniel and Sam. "As" good no, but Kenny spiking in the first place isn't that unreasonable when you look at the big picture, which is that: Miguel and Kenny are the only characters who learned karate out of sheer necessity. Hawk and Demetri learning it was certainly helpful, but they could've always just leaned on Miguel at that point whenever someone was bothering them. Robby didn't learn karate to solve a physical problem, he learned it to solve a spiritual one. But Miguel and Kenny both had problems they HAD to fight their way out of. And when you need to learn something, you tend to learn it a lot quicker. I can agree that he got a little too good a little too quickly, though.

I completely agree. This is just simply bad writing. Demetri and Hawk were peak characters in S4, but they’ve completely dropped off since then. I think the problem is that the show has lasted too long and so they are creating stupid forced drama to make up for the lack of natural drama. Like the MIT beef is not that serious. This should’ve been resolved in the first episode. They literally had no interesting character arc in S6. The worst part about it is that they didn’t have to do anything. What I mean is that the writers didn’t have to cause this beef between them. They could’ve just put Hawk and Demetri in their primes and had them shine in the tournament and everything would’ve been good. C'mon, even the Vegeta stans never took it this hard... Y'all are trying to complicate two simple truths: One, Hawk is one of Cobra Kai's best achievements. Two, he was written into the story to be a close half-step below the 4 core greats. (Or arguably just the two guys.) He has a couple of tainted "losses" that weren't written to be definitive (LEAST of all the last Demetri one, where he won, then got sucker-punched). He also got a borderline-untainted championship win. Flexible floor and ceiling, same nothing-wrong-with-it Vegeta status. Yes, the finale is probably going to bring it down to just a couple best-of-the-best fighters, and yes, he's probably going to be on the side, getting some cool moments and a round-off to his "striking out on my own path, alone" sub-plot. Let him play his role and enjoy what it has left to offer. If the show screwed over anyone, it was by having Demetri stay totally static, after his single, turn-the-entire-character-on-his-head level-up.

The thumbnail is right , he was never gonna win against Robby, he only won because he got distracted and from then on every one started thinking he is more powerful then Robby 😂😂. And for people saying hawk would have hit Robby if not for the timer , if u see clearly that scene , Hawk and Robby both had their fist against each other so if hawk would have hit him if there were more time , Robby would have done the same , so it would have been again 3-3 .
