I blame this more on the writers. Hawk and Robby going to Miyagi-do shouldn’t have nerfed them because they still would’ve had the training and experience to beat Kenny easily, yet the writers chose to make them lose for no reason. Also it doesn’t make sense for Daniel to be a hypocrite like this and it is out of character for him. I’m not sure the writers thought this through, but maybe they did and they are planning on developing him into a better person? I hope that’s the case.

Daniel LaRusso has been one big fat disappointment this entire season. Not only did he abandon his team in their most crucial hour, going on a wild goose chase that he could've pursued AFTER the tournament was over, he's literally gone against everything Mr. Miyagi taught him. Trying to spread Miyagi-Do through winning tournaments is not what Mr. Miyagi wanted. If Miyagi did want that, he'd have done it after he won the Sekai Taikai tournament by killing someone. Daniel could've easily spread the word of Miyagi by just writing a book about all the things Miyagi taught him then selling that book on the therapy section. He put his whole dojo and his daughter in harm's way because of this silly little tournament that he had no business entering. If it wasn't for Axel bailing out his daughter TWICE, she'd have gotten clobbered by Kwon. And the sad thing is, Axel is one of Silver's men. Yep; Daniel's daughter was saved, TWICE, by a guy whose sensei answered to one of Daniel's worst enemies.

The grappling aspects of Karate have been introduced into the tournament we saw this with the iron dragons who defeated the cobra Kai’s with only grappling techniques. I like how some are even saying it’s not karate because they are grappling it’s them who doesn’t know what karate is if they they think it’s only a striking art failing to realize it also has grappling.

Even though I agree on Miyagi Do possibly not winning the Sekai Taikai, albeit different reasons to yours, I can’t agree with the rest that you say. Whilst you’re not wrong about America’s tendency to water down aspects of foreign culture, you’re ultimately comparing Cobra Kai to real life, and Cobra Kai has consistently opposed realistic expectations. Plus, the show has shown that the hands of America has actually bettered Miyagi Do and produce strong fighters in short time. Before America, Miyagi-Do was specialised in defence only and was only taught in the Miyagi family. Now in America, Miyagi-Do specialises in both offence and defence and is taught to outsiders, which was rule broken by Mr Miyagi when he taught Daniel. You’re correct about Terry Silver spreading Cobra Kai’s influence whilst maximising profit, but you’ve misunderstood Daniel’s intent of stopping that. It wasn’t because he was treating Cobra Kai as a business but ultimately because Cobra Kai is objectively the wrong way, and having that possibly taught to the whole world would’ve created a dystopian society. You saying that “Miyagi-Do is about giving help to those who search for it and need it”, how does spreading Miyagi-Do to a wider population prevent that from happening. And Daniel isn’t trying to push down the Miyagi way into people throats, he’s just giving an opportunity to others in the world, like you said “all in good intentions”. Realistically, the Sekai Taikai was something for the kids and Johnny, and spreading the words of Miyagi was just something he can get out of it before he resigns as sensei. You saying that “the more dojos that they made across the world, the worst the quality the teaching became” just isn’t true. It’s easy to assume that, but it’s not a fact. If more people became interested in joining dojos, isn’t it reasonable to also assume that they’ll be an increase in qualified instructors which would help to maintain or improve the quality. There’s many factors that determine the quality of a martial art, there isn’t a sole answer.

To me the biggest problem is not Americanized karate the biggest problem between cobra Kai and miyagi do is that they are always fighting each other so when people from different countries start using different martial arts and fighting styles they are not used to it because they have been fighting cobra Kai and that’s the problem because miyagi do thought cobra kai would be the hardest people to face they forget this isn’t the other tournaments where the same people and come out winning this are different countries with completely different styles of martial arts which is why I think they should team up

Season 6 part 2 goes to show how worse things are for Miyagi-Do. Outside of Cobra Kai, you also had other outfits like the Dublin Thunders and the Iron Dragons. Miyagi-Do barely won against the Dublin Thunders, it was more due to Miguel carrying the team and Devon taking an L to take down the Dublin Thunders' captain. Then when they got to the Iron Dragons, the dojo Silver paid to humiliate Miyagi-Do, they were completely helpless; had that final match between Robby and Axel not been interrupted, the most likely outcome would've been Miyagi-Do getting humiliated by Silver's pet dojo on the global stage. Silver would've gotten what he wanted had it not been for Kwon and the Russian Sensei interrupting the match with their shenanigans.

Daniel did take karate prior to moving to California. He was not on the Cobra Kai level, but he did take it. Anthony was busy eating bon-bons. For Anthony to jump over Robby, Miguel, Hawk, Kenny, or Demetri is a bit of a stretch. But, if Kenny can all of a sudden compete with Robby, after learning one punch, I guess anything is possible.

@ Yeah that’s a great point. I have a daughter that took Karate. Between September and like May she got a brown belt. It worried me and I happened to ask two Sensei’s I met. They nicely explained how it seemed very unrealistic that my daughter would earn such a belt in a short period of time. I took her out of that Dojo and placed her in another where it took two plus years for her to teach green belt. Furthermore she seemed to believe that she learned far more Karate in 2.5 years than she ever learned in the beginning. Seeing all those Cobra Kai’s in black belts in what is like two years is why I say it’s unrealistic 🤣🤣🤣
