That’s what I became after living with a narcissist for thirty years-an echo, unable to safely speak for my own self. The only safe way to behave, to avoid his rage, was to speak only in ways that echoed what was important to him. I finally left him and I escaped the curse, and slowly built back my own true self. This myth is very real to me.

My ex accused me of being a narc and that hurt like hell. Thinking that's what she thought of me. When she abused me, id go silent and refuse to speak to her unless she acknowledged any pain she caused or apologised. She never did. I suffered years of passive agressive comments, sarcasm, gas lighting, name calling. I had to escape my own house at 4am to get away from.her after a 6 hour tirade of verbal abuse and some physical violence. I still love her, at least i think i do. To me she's the most beautiful and mysterious woman on earth. Hearing this story has altered my perspective a little..i questioned myself and still do, am i a narcissist. But i out that doen to a lack of self worth, and self-awareness. In the end though, i think we all have narc tendsncies due to the selb absorbed cukture we live in. Maybe i did make her feel bad, but i didn't deserve being emasculated and belittled by her. I'll never become.submisosve to a woman like that again. I believe she was the narcissist. And i relate to echo, walkinf on egg shells and only repeating the words of others.

Echo🌱🌳 loved her own voice and loved to hear herself talk to the point where she became a blabbermouth. Echo is known for gossip. Narcissus✨😘 fell in love with his own reflection thinking it’s a man or a water nymph in the water. Narcissus is known for vanity.

Echo shut up stop saying the same song in my head over and over again I’m taking care of your daffodils. I’ve been trying to take care of your flowers and feed them. I have thousands of them and I save them from the dump you forget so easily if you keep continuing Putting thoughts inside my head, what will happen is when they throw all the daffodil bulbs out again this year coming up, I might not be able to remember to save them to be able to protect you. I’ve been honest if you cannot project the thoughts to me that I need to know about, and maybe remind me when I need to do something you’re going to perish because I won’t be able to remember to protect you in April and if I don’t have a farm that has land available to put you in because you screwed with my mind all year, you won’t have a place to live either Just because you’re in the afterlife does it mean you don’t have feelings in fact, you probably can read what I’m going to send you right now Be kind kind of my head it’s not that many farmers out there I want to protect you
