It must be hard to take in as a mother with so much emotional roller coaster. A very strong woman. The youngest daughter was a sad story too.

13:35 I am from India 🇮🇳 living abroad. As a child I follow the Shah of Iran. And the family even when his brother got shot. He should have left the whole family in Iran and only he should have gone abroad for medical treatment. Easy for me to say, but he should have had some one run the country while he was away. I remember the huge amount he spent on food and French cooks chiefs. I feel the daughters emotions and separation pain. I shall say a few prayers for her and her brother. Money is not the problem but the separation to another culture and country is not the same. I feel it. May all their souls rest in peace 13:35

What a burden for a 9yr girl, loosing her childhood and leaving her home for an unknown place, since no country would give them asylum.Away from her parents for a long time, till they find a country who would accept them.If that was not enough, she lost her beloved father a year later. She had a lot and at the same time nothing.I guess that would leave a lot of demon's in her young heart. So sad ,for such a beautiful and promising young lady , to end her life so tragically.May she rest in peace😢😢💜🖤🙏🏼

I cried throughout and watched this episode about the tragic life of the youngest Pahlavi princess. What a beautiful exemplary royal family that Iran of 1979 didn’t deserve. For 44 years, since 1979, they are paying for their ungrateful betrayal of their beloved monarchy.

@@JudithSanchez-ht6jn The media has deceived you. The king lost his kingdom for defending the national interests of the Iranian people. There was no revolution in Iran in 1979, but the West occupied Iran by deceiving the Iranian people by its minions, the mullahs.

Princess Leila Pahlavi was a sweetheart, not snobbish. She was a happy and carefree young girl often dancing in Juan les Pins clubs in jeans and simple outfits. Her passing must have been accidental. I only saw her happy. London was not a good place for her.

I was in Iran in 1974. It was a police state, imprisoning opposition journalist and having spies everywhere. Now I find out the Shah pilfered $100 MILLION from the Iranian people. No wonder he was overthrown. Nonetheless, I do feel sorry for Diba outliving 2 of her 4 children.

This video glosses over the true cause of Lelia's mental illness, depression and emotional problems such as eating disorders. Her parents completely ignored her and she was dumped with nannies, governesses and raised by paid staff. With two parents she rarely saw, of course she had insecurities. Her death really appears to be a SUICIDE not what her mother tries to present as some kind of mysterious death caused by the trauma of her father being deposed by the people of Iran and then the family lives in exile. I though it really COLD BLOODED for her mother to ship little 10 year old Lelia off to TEXAS of all places and separate her from her entire family. Her older brother was really busy with his jet fighter pilot training and engaged full time in his military training - so Lelia is dumped in Texas, once again raised by strangers who are paid employees. I never cared much for her mother Farah Diba - who was not a maternal type of woman - Farah Diba was far more concerned with doing govt work, her various charities, blah blah blah. If her mother really cared about her daughter, she would have moved heaven and earth to PREVENT Lelia from getting mixed up in the trashy world of modelling - if her mother was really THERE for her daughter, then all her mental problems could have been eliminated - I felt Lelia was "Poor Little Rich Girl" - beautiful, well educated but basically a FORGOTTEN CHILD who got lost in the shuffle with all the attention placed on her three older siblings. In the end, Farah Diba's other grown children turned against her - refused to have contact with her - and she lived alone in Paris in exile always trying to present herself as some sort of Tragic Victim - when in reality she was fully complicit with her monstrous husband's oppressive dictatorship.
