The saddest part about this tale is that he is at the point now where he's so dedicated to playing the part of his character that any chance of getting through to him, or any case of an interview, is only going to be met with a response from the character and never the real Nicholas Perry. As self aware and calculative as he is, maintaining this persona for the sake of relevancy and revenue is what's ultimately going to bring about his early demise. What's even worse about that revelation is that he knows it, and he's perfectly okay with it.

As someone who's struggled with overeating and lack of exercise, seeing someone just actually give up and lie to himself this is his life and it's better to accept it, that's absolutely upsetting. It doesn't have to be like that. It's honestly easy to start doing better, like jogging! what you just need is SELF-DISCIPLINE.

The core of the issue is his absolute obsession with playing the persona for attention and financial success. After years of sustaining that obsession, it's very likely evolved into a mental disorder/illness. Look at other cases like hoarding, OCD, phobias, depression, PTSD, etc. Like people dealing with any of those, Nick Perry needs to be to be forced to face reality and practice diverging from old habits. Practicing not conforming to compulsive urges that reinforce the neural connections relevant them, is a vital part of overcoming such mental issues. Of course, none of that works if the affected person (Nick) doesn't give the bare minimum effort to do his part of the process.

What I find awful about this is that he’s so lost in playing this character that he refuses to listen to anyone who might actually want to help him. Coryxkenshin basically said that he didn’t want to see him destroy himself and hopes he takes care of himself out of concern for a fellow human being, but Nikocado made a response just going off on him and I believe threatened to sue him. It’s just awful that he sees genuine concern as a threat

The thing is, I think a weight-loss series of videos for Nick could go over really well. I've seen multiple weight-loss story videos here on KZbin and there almost always seems to be a very strong response to those stories because, like you guys said, it's very relatable for a lot of people, myself included. There were a couple of videos like that that I returned to multiple times early on in my own weight loss journey (I started working on losing weight about this time in 2019 when I was at about 280 pounds, at 32 years old mind you, and my journey ended in December 2020 when I reached about Nick's former weight, about 130 pounds lost), and they served as an encouragement for me to keep going. And now that I've been on both sides and thinking about what my own health condition was like at my former weight, given that I was a slim kid growing up, my hope is that Nick will not wait until it's too late to realize that his physical health (and his mental health, because I've learned that your mental health can be dramatically affected by your physical health. Mine certainly was.) matters and that he can actually do something beneficial about it.

Heck the thing is he doesn't even have to give up doing mukbangs completely. There are plenty of youtubers out there that make it work but they only do them like once a week type thing and the rest of the time they do exercise and eat right and all that. That's how many of them can stay skinny while producing that content. He could do that too and I think that he could still profit by doing the weight loss videos in between the mukbangs

About a year ago. I went and got a checkup from a doctor because i was having funny feelings near my heart. i had stage 1 hypertension, was overweight at 210 pounds, and a severely fatty liver. since then, i've lost quite a bit of weight. i'm now standing at 150 pounds. i like to think i'm living a much healthier life than what i used to be. seeing nikocado like this is crazy. how is he not having any health related issues right now.

This makes me so depressed, being over weight my self. I've been trying to make changes, the physical part isn't hard, it's the mental part that will bring you down especially if you struggle with mental health issues on the regular, it feels almost impossible to do anything.

Another interesting thing is that most people probably don’t know how weight gain and food consumption correlate. You can eat 10,000 calories and 95% of the weight gain is water and waste, this can give the illusion that you can eat without gaining weight until it becomes a habit

This man single handedly gave me an eating disorder. I’ve always been thin, and I had watched him since before all of this disgusting mukbang stuff. I saw him balloon and I swore I would never be like that. I know this seems bad, but I think the downside outweighs the risk of becoming… like that. I just don’t know if I should thank or be angry at Nikado for that.

I am just watching this video now, and surprisingly, he looks a little bit skinnier in his last videos, the comments are noticing it too. Maybe something incredible could happen? If he thinks he needs to play the character to stay relevant, nothing will change. But maybe he noticed that him changing and transforming could be even more lucrative and now he is a little bit out of his delusion.

Watching this video makes me realize my own "demons" even more so to the point I'm legitimately thinking how...the HELL can I fix my self? Because I have what people say autism spectrum disorder my attention span and mind altogether thought, sometimes action go with it like my body has a too much of a mind of its own more so than me. Because one time I tried to grab a book that's LITERALLY on my bed. Reaching for it but some reason my arm is hesitating and back pedaling from the book when I WANT to read said book or anything really....it's like my body trapped me in my own mind/head while I'm in a repetitive pattern of overthinking how to get out of it..my God it's a PAIN because of how much I know I suck at information gathering regards to everything..sadly. because of quite a few things. 1. How I was raised. 2. Never having a schedule WAY too much free time. 3 I kept getting switched out of schools before I could even let thinks sink in to even GATHER anything so..there's that my entire school life. 4. A way too active mind that doesn't know what to do with free time and ignores me because of how lazy it's being I hate how my body is running things I love how STRONG it's emotional intuition is and how intuned it is with me...too intuned. Which makes me think of something before I was even born I can recall a feeling a very specific feeling of I wasn't here I wasn't there I wasn't anywhere no thoughts no actual body legitimately absolute nothing then one day my soul has awakened as a human body which tbh EXTREMELY confused and continues to confuse and frustrate the hell out of me (being born into this realm when there used to be nothing) so I still don't know how to control these actions, thoughts, legitimately everything which is WHY for me people think I have autism spectrum disorder. I'm too busy examining my own actions, thoughts, things in my surroundings which is why for me specifically I always look around EVERYWHERE not because it's interesting to me BUT because of how much information is ridiculously overwhelming me someone that WAS absolute nothing including me both physically and mental thought is what I can't help but recall which is the source of my autism spectrum disorder. So my body is constantly self reanalyzing its own and my own thoughts/mind sense it doesn't know what to do with free time ik what I want to do but it just does not...human body's are weird in my opinion.

Also, when you are morbidly obese, you can healthily lose a significant amount of weight a month. 5 lbs/month is like an aggressive cut for someone who is in relative shape and want to look leaner. Aka it is an excuse to tell himself for why he shouldn’t bother

6:10 my younger sister she became vegan and at the beggining it was annoying to the level my will to punch her was way higher than i ever got in my whole life but then after an year she accepted me and my parents eating meat/fish and now we can stay on the same table eating and enjoy as a whole family, because when she became she started with the usual BS from ... africa or something like that and tried to force us it even got into a point to my Father dishonour her which needs to reach levels that i never thought but now we all Big chilling and have fun

Plant-based Meats and stuff already exists, there's some that don't use processing or chemicals and there's something interesting being developed, Fungus Foods and someone tried Fungus Bacon, not as disgusting as you think and actually nutritious. I'm hoping to try Insects but hopefully is something like BBQ, Chipotle Aioli or Honey Mustard-flavored.

It’s hard to have sympathy for Nick when he scapegoats his audience instead of taking responsibility for his own disgusting habits and making something better of himself. The audience didn’t hold him at gun point or threaten to cut him off if he didn’t become a mukbang channel. He chose to do that to clout chase, and he has to live with that decision. It’d be great if he made a recovery and finally turned his life around. But blaming his audience for his own failures is not something I can abide.

I genuinely feel sorry for Nikocado because clearly he needs a lot of emotional and physical therapy.
