The ICE 1 oder Class 401 ist the most iconic Highspeed Train in Germany. For a long time we had to wait for a modelrailway manufacturer to (re-)make a (seemingly) modernized version of this train. Roco decided to upgrade the old "Fleischmann" model from the 90s with new wipers, detailed pantographs and a good sound in both enginges. Unfortunatley the drive wasn't changed in a way the train (and the price) fullfills our desire for a modern model train set. This did not lead to a lack of traction, but a poor low-speed performance, bad gear/drive sound and missing mechanical prevention from rolling down slopes. This is a shame since i don't have high hopes for the competing Lima ICE 1 to be more durable (although its way cheaper)
