Best episode of the season so far! Dan finally starting to show his strategy, Parv being a silent killer, and Phaedra being the boss. The funeral was the best mission by far and everything just came together so well. Excited to see where things go!

Feel like it's only going to continue to get better, which is probably why they dumped the first three episodes on the first weekend. To get into the heart of things faster.

For previous seasons when they get traitors out early, they remaining traitors gets the option to recruit or murder that same night. They get the same option for multiple rounds until a certain point where the host will then say if you don't recruit now, then you loose the opportunity. Sometimes towards the end of some seasons, the traitors are forced to recruit by way of blackmail whereby the recruiting faithful either accepts or they die immediately.

I'd like to see the blackmail version. US season 1 almost went that rout but didn't get there.

Traitors UK season 1 is a masterclass on how to play as a traitor, and arguably some of the best Faithfuls, it’s a full cast of newbies so everyone is on equal playing ground 100% worth the watch. I’m starting to think Dan watched this season because he’s giving me major Will vibes rn.

Great episode of Traitors. It’s been a lot more enjoyable than season 1, and season 1 was decent itself. It’s been even more fun to watch with the recaps!

In previous seasons, for the most part, they actually don't max out the prize fund in the last episode. So they actually do loose money in those challenges they do. But for US, it's possible they will do a challenge at the end to make the total to 250k dollars like in US season 1
@survivorspecialists
@survivorspecialists Жыл бұрын
I feel like they probably do this in the US version too because the big names are probably guaranteed some amount of money when they're cast. No one is going home empty handed, so the $250K probably isn't even that big of a deal for the show

They tell the faithfuls when someone is recruited as a traitor and usually no one is murdered that night. Usually it only happens when a traitor is eliminated. So technically they can still replenish the traitors till the last episode because they just tell the faithfuls that there is a new traitor. Also usually an eliminated traitor reveals if they were an og or recruited traitor when they are banished. So ppl can kind of keep track that way… But yes, the traitors have a massive advantage in the game. The only disadvantage is that the traitors tend to want to banish each other so that they appear more faithful as the season moves forward. Best position in the game is to be recruited as traitor later or befriend a traitor and stay around to expose them later. That’s why Sandra and Janelle and probably a few of the HW are NOT voting for the traitors right now. They hope to be recruited and than sabotage from Within or at the end and win. That’s definitely what Janelle and Sandra are doing. Janelle even said on Twitter today that she knew dan was a traitor day 1 and parv on day 2. She’s just biding her time and the traitors won’t target u if they know u won’t target them. Hope that makes sense.
@survivorspecialists

That's great! I wouldn't be surprised if Janelle or Sandra are eventually recruited. Don't know if I totally buy Janelle's tweet though. Seems like a case of trying to make herself seem smarter!

There was one international season where two traitors kept throwing their other traitors under the bus, and they recruited another traitor with the goal of banishing them. The recruit realized this and banished all of the original traitors to win. A different season had 2 traitors in the final 5, and one traitor led a charge to get the other out. The soon to be banished traitor got so mad, that it clued the faithfuls in to who the other traitor was. The faithfuls ended up winning that season.

@@survivorspecialists Traitors Canada was also interesting in that in the last banishment before the fire they didn't allow the banished contestant to reveal his status before leaving, so the group didn't know if they had gotten out a traitor or a faithful. They had to rely solely on their instincts after that.

I think Survivor and especially Jeff could take a look at shows like The Traitors and realize that casting people with strong and confrontational personalities makes it way more exciting TV, than casting all of the same type of boring super fans that will go on Survivor with a checklist to complete. I’m so tired of the same “software managers” people cast on Survivor who bring nothing to the show but boredom.

The nice thing about a show with housewives and reality TV staples is that they're not afraid to lean into being villains because they know it will be good TV.

Bling Empire is Netflix not Bravo. The 3rd group was the "obviously Faithful" with John, Kevin, Peter, and Bergie, maybe others.

Yeah, I (Phil) was totally thinking it was going to be Bergie. That's just the type of player she normally so easily manipulates. But the Ekin-Su situation just fell into her lap, so it was the best move!

@@survivorspecialists It’s a bit of a mix. The 2 seasons of the UK version I believe are generally unknown, everyday people with one exception in S2. The NZ version was people who had some level of a public life in NZ I believe. Canada was a mix of regular people and reality show personalities, and I believe Australia is also a mix of celebrities and and “civilians”. I’ve enjoyed them all, but I’ll say I think I have enjoyed the UK version the best in many ways so far. The host is also great her interaction and involvement with the contestants is different from many other reality shows.

I watched all of Traitors U.S. (so far), season one U.K. and season one Australia. The best was U.K. Why do I think that? U.K. was ALL newbies/normals. The money meant more to them. They were not "playing to the cameras" like all of these reality-TV people. The result was much more genuine emotion, and incredible tension. Also ... if Dan/Parvati/Phaedra are so concerned about maintaining their cover, why did all of them drop jaws when Ekin Sue walked in the door at breakfast? Wasn't that a dead giveaway that they were all traitors? Seemed staged.

It's the editing of this show. It most likely wasn't their actual reaction in that moment. If you've seen season one, you'd know, since it had the same kind of editing where Traitors made facial expressions that would give away everything at most crucial moments.
@survivorspecialists
@survivorspecialists Жыл бұрын
I think that the editing is really playing games with the audience and a lot of the facial expressions are from random moments throughout the day.

I’d argue the gamers want to win first and take advantage of screen time 2nd. Their legacies are based on being winners (or close to winning aka Janelle *no shade*) and playing hard to WIN. They are giving us the both of best worlds. A lot of people are talking about Phaedra not being a pushover and that she’s smart and able to fool the faithfuls, and how on RHOA she is manipulative, etc. But what I need to see on THIS show, in this GAME is can she be strategic. Otherwise, all else means nothing except the fact that she is good tv. I watch these shows for strategy so for me I’ll watch and enjoy the (game) conflict but I’m not ready yet to say she’s playing the best game just because she’s under the radar right now. I’d like her to be a triple threat (UTR, good tv, AND strategic).
