@jasonlawrence84503 жыл бұрын
@@Nnm26 1) My joint program with Juilliard School was cancelled my second year. 2) My foreign language was dropped and no longer offered and CU wanted me start all over in another language. 3) I was horribly harassed by another student at another college within the university and CU protected my harasser forcing me to leave (of which I sued) and then CU dropped me as a named scholar. CU has a history of tolerating harassment. The administration doesn't give a damn. Try mediating through the ombuds office (THIS MEANS YOU MARSHA WAGNER) and they will still support the harasser. All in all, CU was the WORST experience of my life. The only good thing to happen was the dean of my school, Peter Awn, died. Good riddance to bad rubbish. He was evil.

That's quite the feat. Good luck. But just as a heads up, I think in 2014 Harvard accepted just 9 transfer students. I am not 100% on that number so you should look it up for your self but it was around the double digit number.

What if I dropped out of high school and instead had a ged and went to community college for 2 years and held a 3.8 gpa while at the CC. Are my hopes of going to a good university doomed? Or do you think the ged won’t matter as long as I attend the cc for 2 years and get good grades
@Mrxplosiongaming3 жыл бұрын
I mean u probably won’t get into Harvard unless your essays recommendation and overall Story is insane but you can definitely get into some good schools with good essays and recs
@Maple-fl5fh3 жыл бұрын
This is crazy, I’m in the same situation right now. I dropped out, got my GED a couple months ago, and I’m in my first year of CC. I keep wondering if my GED is going to affect my application since most of the schools I am planning to apply to have very competitive acceptance rates.
@Mrxplosiongaming3 жыл бұрын
@@Maple-fl5fh Listen just be honest about yourself and write a compelling story in your essays. Try to get good recommendations and anything will happen. You definitely will get in some unis. Just try your best to get as high of a gpa as possible. I have a friend of a friend who was a missionary during high school, got his ged, got a 4.0 at community college, and is now at Yale. I am at a public university right now and left public school at the start of my junior year and switched to homeschooling and early admissions at community college. I got a 3.83 at the community college and now am a sophomore. I am actually applying to transfer to much more competitive schools as a junior transfer next year, but we will have to see if I can get a 3.91 this semester.

Don't know if you will read this (because this comment is so old) but even the most selective schools you can think of view nontraditional students as valuable additions to their communities. Nontraditional students can be so much more mature and academically motivated than 18 year olds. I truly hope things have gone well for you.

I am at community College, his is my second year, last year I fucked around and did not pass a bunch of classes due to Covid and other factors. I am attending a different CC this year. I am in the middle of my first semester of my second year, 4.0 GPA this semester, will do everything I need to in order to keep it there. I would like to transfer to UPenn. I am going to start doing community service to try to strengthen my application. I also am considering retaking the SAT. I scored an 1120 in 2019, put in no effort to it, never studied for it. I am now studying and planning to retake it December 4, goal of 1450+. Is there anything else I could do to possibly strengthen my application and increase my chances? I intend to earn a bachelors in biology, and then go on to med school after.
@kennethwang1666 Жыл бұрын
Don't take the SAT. You have college coursework (and strong grades!) to share with them now - let that speak for itself. In my opinion, that carries more weight than a single sitting test.

You want to keep your light source out of frame. If you must use two cameras make the white balance matches. If you won't be looking at the second camera when you switch, make the angle less extreme. If you want to switch cameras and look at the lens, plan it out so you don't look back and forth between the two. Thanks for the good info and good luck.
