❤️ Dear friends. subscribe to my channel, put likes, write comments! It is valuable for me to know that MK on felting are needed 🌹 🌹 🌹
🌺 This master class was conceived as the idea of a simple felting scarf or stole for beginners to felt.
It is very easy to make, ideal for those who want to learn how to roll scarves and stoles.
In the technique of nunofelting (attaching silk to wool)
I took 100% wool for the base - textured yarn, you can just yarn
And also this scarf can be dumped without a vibrating grinder. With your hands.
I really love this scarf for the tenderness of the felted textures made of rarefied silk, for the elasticity that the yarn gives, for the wonderful textures that are created by working with blockers.
So, the method of wet felting on yarn, with blockers, in the #nunofelting technique. Scarf transformer Blues.
My #life hack
🔸 🔸 🔸 I want to note right away that blockers are used here for wool and as an option, you can not use a whole cloth of silk, but use, for example, lace in areas limited by blockers and get a great scarf in the #Boho style.
You can also use tulle (mesh) of different colors or lay # wool, limited by blockers - silk, viscose, linen, nettle and others. And you can also make this scarf with silk on both sides 🔸 🔸 🔸
🔸 For felting this scarf, I took:
1. Alize Barbados yarn (or other fancy hand-spun yarn, or just pure wool yarn)
2. Natural Margilan rarefied silk 2 m length, width 140 cm
3. Wool for felting Australian merino 18mk
4. Scissors
5. Paper construction tape (for blockers)
6. Soap solution (water + 1/5 hand gel)
7. Construction covering cellophane
8. Ikeevskaya substrate (you can use an air-bubble film-pupyrka)
9. Vibration grinding machine (I have a Makita) but you can do without it
10. Towels
🔸 The process of felting a transformer Blues scarf:
01: 35 On the substrate, I marked the borders of the scarf with a felt-tip pen. Since the shrinkage will be very small (3-5%), it is better to immediately lay out the desired size.
I have 2.80 with brushes-length, 40-width
02: 25 I folded the silk in half and put it in the middle of the template
03: 00 I spread the blockers (construction or ordinary tape) over the entire surface of the silk, stepping over the side borders of the scarf. (You can draw the direction of the blockers in advance, but I do it out of inspiration, momentary)
06: 55 Wool for felting, I lay out a "lazy" layout. To do this, I tear off a wide, but not long part of the fibers from the combed wool ribbon, then I divide this part of the fibers into smaller ones. And I pull them across, push the fibers apart
I lay the entire surface of the scarf with wool for felting with a "lazy" layout
Between the wool fibers, on the blocker, I leave the gaps empty, I do this so that the rarefied silk being rolled along the edges is not captured by the wool, but is tender and weightless, creating a texture
Wool for felting I have protrudes beyond the side edges of the scarf, which would capture all the threads of yarn
09:05
Laying out textured wool yarn.
I did not lay out exactly and left the length of the brushes not the same, because I like it when you can see in felted things that they are man-made. Therefore, most often I have an asymmetry in my felting, which I create intentionally
I water each stage of the layout with a soap solution
16: 30 I covered the scarf with a cellophane film and rolled only the part with the wool for felting with a vibrating grinding machine. I don't touch the brushes
18: 30 Then, I took off the film, and began the process of cutting the silk with scissors on the blockers. First I tried it from the bottom of the scarf
But I decided that it was more convenient to cut the fabric on the front side according to the blockers
The scarf is released from the blockers
Felting a scarf in a towel roll
Rinsed out in the washing machine in the "rinse"mode
(be careful with washing machines! You need to know the capabilities of your washing machine and use only those modes that you are sure of)
The scarf turned out to be a transformer in the Boho style, I really like to roll it, wear it and buy it well!
🌺 🌺 🌺 Dear novice felters! There is no limit to imagination and inspiration! I suggest that you be bold in your creativity!
My felting workshops are just a drop in the sea of ideas that may help you get inspired and create something unique in your style.
