It was first published in the The Pall Mall Budget in 1894 and subsequently reprinted in The Stolen Bacillus and Other Incidents (1895) and The Country of the Blind and Other Stories (1911).

Great narration! Have you thought about narrating more modern stories? I'm sure lots of authors would take you up on it (though perhaps not on this channel). I've started a channel narrating AI-written stories that I am putting together (would welcome anyone's opinion), but I've thought about offering narration to authors once I get a foothold with some subscribers.
