A trend I would like to see is premium blade steel in a budget handle.

There are quite a few good knife designs out there, which, however, use D2, 14C28Mov or N690, and I don’t necessarily want to knock those steels, which were top steels at one time, and still pretty good, but I’m always looking for better, more cutting edge (pun intended) steels, e.g. S90V, M390, K390, Vanax, CruWear, Magnacut, etc. It’s just the way I am, ever since I learned that some cheap cars die prematurely because they use cheap steel, I have always wanted my stuff, the minor stuff at least, to be the best I can lay my hands on! I can have that in knives, and to me, the heart and soul of a knife is in its steel. I like nice handles of course, but the steel is the thing.

@@yankee2yankee Yes. I would love to have a Magnacut blade in something other than a titanium or carbon fiber handle. Simple G10 with a strong lock, like a Raccoon. Under $150. I don't want an expensive knife for fear I would lose it!

It’s been a long time since anybody came out with a knife I felt I had to have.

Last knife I bought was another spyderco leafjumper in K390 on sale for like $90. It's such a good knife I had to have another one.

I like the bent steel clip BETTER than the milled titanium clip. The plain steel clip is a simple and clean design, but most important, it is DEEP CARRY! THAT, to me, is essential.

It definitely is a great way to carry a knife! 🔥

I hope this is a trend in the knife world. CJRB just released a Pyrite lite with an S90V blade for right around $80.00. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.

Both versions are really cool knives. The budget version looks like a nice deal. I can put up with the clip on it and the lesser steel which is easier to sharpen. Amazing knives coming out, thanks for sharing Wayne!

The Buckhorn really showed just how great you can do with cheaper materials. I mean, 14C28N is pretty damn good. Kansept and Kizer do get a lot in the same $150 range with S35VN though... I did grab a Pyrite with titanium handle when that came out for $90 and then the copper 20CV too. $90 for titanium handles is such a good deal with a pretty good steel.

The revel is sweet but I need a Ti clip for it. Doesn’t fit with the budget clip.

I have owned 2 knives in AR rpm9 steel from crjb (artisan cutlery) and both have the worst edge retention I've ever seen. Worse than bucks 420hc. Don't waste your money

In my experience, AR-RPM9 is leaps and bounds better than Elmax
