When we say Islamic Architecture we talk about Architecture that you can find in all Islamic countries and it is different from a place to the other influenced by the old Islamic empires in many regions , but Moroccan architecture is that distinct design that you can find all over Morocco notably Fes that you can trace back to the 7th century ,and was at its height in wide display in Andalucía by the Moors that you can explore to this day like ``Al Hambra``, the Moors who are the original inhabitant of North Africa ,the Amazigh as we call ourselves who brought that culture and architecture to the Andalous and achieved greater things there, so when you see Moroccans making the distinction it`s because many countries tried to steal that Moroccan identity and claimed it to be theirs, which can be easily refuted by historical facts , so we say it`s Moroccan as a sort of preservation of our Culture ,architecture and Identity because Moroccan identity is a blend of Amazigh , Arab and Islamic cultures, and that`s why you have something called the Moroccan Moorish movement that aims to re-acquaint the Moroccan youth with their Moorish identity and history . you also should check the history of the Moriscos who are the descendants of the Moors and they are the Muslims that you can find in Spain to this day.

6:50, the intricate Islamic Morrocan architecture is very similar to the one I saw in AlHambra. The lower wall is treated with beautiful colorful Morrocan geometric design tiles and on top of it, Arabic calligraphy.

Good evening, I love your videos because they are very well done. I would like to clarify that Islam did not reveal to the prophet Mohammed a design but the principles of a belief. The decor that you find at the "Mederssa Ben Youssef" is a work of Moroccan craftsmanship which dates back to the 12 th century. You can read about the art of Zellij Morocco in the city of Fes. All the old Moroccan houses are decorated with Moroccan zellij. I invite you to visit the Zellij workshops, pottery...

I wonder what menara means in Morocco. In Malaysia it means tower. For instance, Menara Kembar Petronas, Petronas Twin Towers or Menara KL, KL Tower, Menara Warisan Merdeka, Independence Heritage Tower.
@YadVenturess
@YadVenturess 10 ай бұрын
I believe it’s a similar meaning but online it says that it means either a minaret or lighthouse. Essentially some sort of structure.

@@YadVenturess I have to, I also haven't been to the North and would love to see the coast up North and towns like Chefchouan. I think the Northernmost city I've been to in Morocco is Fez, or maybe Rabat? And Southernmost Ouarzazate. Westernmost Essaouira 😅 and Easternmost is definitely Fez. So at least two more vacations but I also plan a huge roadtrip through Europe within a couple of years and consider going to Morocco as well and spend 2 or 3 months there.

There re other malls in Marrakech but smaller ones like carre eden. Menara is the biggest for the moment. There is actually under construction a new much bigger mall not too far from Menara. Its called Morocco Mall Marrakech and its gonna be big one and if the advertisements hit the point its gonna be very exotic as well.

Yea true dat.. There is as well al mazar mall in Marrakech that is okeyish size... but yea Morocco mall Marrakech owner is the same one that owns the Morocco mall in Casablanca. I think at one point some people were worried that too many malls etc might disturb tourism flow in jemaa lfna and medina. Now there re plans to increase tourism and local middle class is growing and many expats moving so it gives more space to develop new stuff

The conclusive proof that the tiles are 100% Moroccan. Wherever you go in Morocco, you will find Moroccan tiles made by the most skilled craftsmen in the country. Go to the city of Fez, which is the capital of authentic Moroccan tiles. I say this because the state of Algeria is trying to steal all this Moroccan civilization, culture and heritage attributed to them.

Im a moroccan but i hate it when they do stuff like that and honestly i would appreciate it if you make sure to speak about these ‘get under the skin’ tactics sellers do either with us locals when we are back to visit our home country or you guys tourists because it will indeed help our country tourisme …. And yes i am talking about the moment when you wanted to pay for the strawberries and you were expecting a change of 40dh out of 100dh and he gave back 20dh and he said « ok » and you felt kinda guilt and let it go … really bad habits that you can honestly show and denounce because you are doing a a great job with your videos fellas… Enjoy
