No kidding. Dude's living in Bumsfuck nowhere texas, getting attacks by Quetzies and Raptors, and just like "Whatevs, I'll deal with it!" Granted, a lot of small farm owners have to deal with all kinds of crazy bullshit from mountain lions and bears to coyotes, wild boar, and wolves, but man that Quetz is bigger than his house! I think he'd be within his rights to piss himself and we wouldn't have any grounds to judge him.

I love when the dinosaurs in your videos are not unstoppable monsters, they are just animals, they are of course scared of light, gun sounds and can be killed when takes certain damage to their important organs. Many dinosaurs films underestimated and made mordern weapons looks weak.

The suspense in this episode was so good. When all three raptors appeared from the room it was shocking and terrifying. This video reminded me of the raptor kitchen scene. It’s funny how a channel can create better horror than Universal can.
@brentage5000
@brentage5000 7 ай бұрын
That's cause Universal never got the horror aspect and except for a few scenes in the original didn't really try. They just saw BIG DINO SCARY GO SMASHIE. Not bad, but so very far from the novel.
@TheBlkKat

@@TheBlkKat oh, I get that. I saw the original when it came out in theaters and picked up the book later, and only then did I find out about the horror stuff and how cool it was and how much was left out or changed.
@TheBlkKat
@TheBlkKat 7 ай бұрын
@@brentage5000 The funny part is even without the book, the original film it still follows the monster horror formula. The second one really dips into the horror elements and I believe if the second film wasn't so heavily compared to the second book and got the praise it deserved, the franchise would have kept a lot, if not all, of those horror elements. JP3 pulled way back from the horror and probably was what influenced the tone for the second trilogy.

Bro - amazing, amazing, amazing. You brought to life the nightmare we all had as kids: a pack of velociraptors is hunting us down in our own home. And damn, it's a wooden floorboard house too...I would be doomed by the first creak haha! This farmer is a hero to root for, stressed out but brave and skilled. All 3 parts were good but this one especially was tense and compelling, I was hooked; you have a much better sense of visual story-telling than the creators of the past few movies in the franchise. Loved that touch of light humour in the ending too. Great work!

Right on the money. These videos are more captivating and suspenseful than any JP film since the original. And I agree 100% about weapons actually working. Dinos are formidable, but a head shot or deep stab wound will take them down just like any other animal (well, except for the Quetzo in an earlier episode). I was half-expecting the raptor on the stairs to be playing dead like the Allosaurus in the island episode, but nope...he was really dead!

The problem with the guns in movies is that they're usually being wielded by people that are panicking and not using the guns optimally. Slow and steady shots,.patience, and short controlled bursts over screaming and holding down the trigger and spraying wins every time. (Hate how this makes me sound like a gun enthusiast. Ah, well.)

This is an absolute masterclass in suspense and subversion. And the subtlety is just chefs kiss. I think it really helps that theres no dialogue because theres so much more focus on the actions. The way I thought he was safe after he got rid of the 1st raptor, only to realize another was in the house was insane. And every time you think its fine, its not. When the raptor approached the phone, then another, then another I kept getting caught off guard.

That farmer is an absolute beast. Funnily enough in my head I was thinking things like 'if I were in his shoes I'd do this' only for him to actually do it. He wasn't just a cliche horror protagonist with all the fumbling and being unnecessarily loud and letting every chance to fight back go by in favor of blind running, he ACTUALLY made decisions. Like when he went to investigate he took a WEAPON instead of going with literally nothing, the laying down out of sight near the stairs and by the bed instead of standing there doing nothing in the open or screaming and running away, the fact when he DID run was only after getting caught completely by surprise and he didn't just run in a straight line either, among plenty of other things he did that were better or straight up the best courses of action compared to what you'd usually see in movies and shows and such Also, I love that the cow survived, and that she has a new herd now lol

Intense! My heart was in my throat the whole time! I'd also like to say that stegosaurus has always been one of my favourite dinosaurs, ever since I was a kid. So.....that ending.....yeah. Outstanding job!

I just came across your channel and I'm loving your videos so far. But this is the first series I watched and it was a treat! It's so refreshing to find something like this - even in mainstream dinosaur/monster content - where the main character is actually competent and not set up to become fodder or to survive thanks to simple dumb luck, or at the expense of the dinosaurs. The animation was lovely - I have seen a few comments praising the dinosaurs (especially Steggy) and pterasaur, but I want to give a shoutout to the cow too, especially her near-death scene in the field. She really did feel like as much of a character as the farmer. Very good decision with the happy ending, particularly with Steggy becoming part of the herd. A really sweet way to bring the story to a close.

Great tension building. I really liked the birds eye view shots at the start. I also liked how you changed the dude's breathing when he hit the deck right before the raptor walked upstairs. One thing that could do with some improvement is the walking here and there. Sometimes the characters are sliding around instead of properly walking, though I'm sure you're already aware of this. It's great to see you make so much improvement over so little time. Glad I subbed, can't wait to see more!
