Another excellent quote to sum up the 'don't survive it, thrive in it' point is: "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain"

One of my favorite books

Oh man...everyone is different. I read it around 10 years ago and I really just absolutely struggled through that book and did not like any moments of it. It is now part of the running classics, so I finished it. However, the language, the phrasing, the story line...it just did not resonate with me and found it so hard to read more than 10 pages at once. You get a book like Bowerman, Running with the Buffalos, Born to Run, Feet in the Clouds, Life of Billy Bland...those are more likely inspiring and fascinating to me. This is just a comment, if you enjoyed it, good on you !!! Forza !!!

Great perspective! I definitely agree that it is a different read than running with the buffaloes and other running books that do strike up more the motivation/inspiration. I think this book resonated with me because I needed this sort of book during that season of my life and I empathized a lot with the runners journey. Thanks for the comment!
