It is not just Trump who is intimidating the jurors. The media is releasing details of the jurors’ lives. That alone is making them anxious for their safety. Some of the media outlets are defending this data release, but I’m not seeing why we need to know such juror details.

To most people, this trial is about something they don't really understand. They don't understand the campaign issue . And civics along with POLITICAL HISTORY , must be taught in schools from grade school through high school and colleges . Then on any media possible thereafter. BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY , in Utah , has a wonderful history program called , American Ride . It is wonderful , at teaching some , Political History . Mitt Romney, could help any national television program company , to communicate with Byu to perhaps get this program going all over the country .

It's disheartening how a paper like the NY Times refuses to call Trump's trial anything but the "hush money" trial even after a Times reporter wrote a piece highlighting the wrong wording, and newsletters and comments have criticized the wording. My sense is that the Times doesn't want to alienate centrist and right of center readers by acknowledging reality.

Sadly, I have found out that not only does being jailed or imprisoned not take away your ability to run for/be president, it also has been done before in history. The only crime that would matter is treason, and no one has been brave enough to even try convicting him on that. So all these trials mean literally nothing, no matter how they turn out.

Why is the judge not clearing the courtroom of everyone except the litigant, court staff and jurors. That way if there are leaks about the jurors we will have a much better chance of knowing who leaked their info. If you're serious about protecting them that is the only way to do that.

The principle of open justice is important- justice needs to be done, & needs to be seen to be done. So reporters & public need access to court proceedings. It’s an important check on abuses by governments. Some other countries have stricter options available, like court orders to media organisations not to publish identifying information. To an outsider, US emphasises free speech rights to excess, without appropriate balancing with other goals like public safety.

I am not a legal expert, but to me Ford's 'pardon of Nixon' looks strange: Nikon was never convicted and sentenced, and a pardon apply to a federal sentence... Hm. In any case, by compare to our new John Gotti/Donald Trump, he appears to me almost like a responsible patriot, who tried to spare the nation and office the embarrassment of a trial.
