Serena’s happily surprised “really?!” when Joe said he was falling for her too was seriously the sweetest most genuine reaction and I love that relationships like her and Joe’s can still exist on this show even with all the crazy preplanned relationships and meetups before paradise, the social media clout chasers, and the meddling producers. I still don’t know how the producers haven’t caught onto the fact that THIS is the main reason why we watch the show at the end of the day. While drama and funny moments are always a part of a good season, it’s only when they’re subplots of the main romance storyline that it works-NOT the other way around.

I mean it’s not surprising, in fact we all pretty much thought Brendan was a peach till this stuff went down. You don’t know until you know. And Doctor Joe didn’t have all the details, and Brendan wasn’t there for him to confront about it. So he was just being straight forward: he loves Brendan, but he also made it clear Natasha is a gem and didn’t deserve what happened to her. But clearly it was too uncomfortable for him to go forward. He never dismissed her, which I respect. However Natasha has said that some of Brendan’s friends have reached out to her after seeing the show and what he said to her, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is one of them.

To be fair to Dr. Joe, he didn't know exactly what went down on the beach before he arrived, and therefore he didn't know the severity of it all AND the fact that Brendan was straight up being nasty with his remarks, openly said he was there for fame/followers, and that Natasha had zero prospects. So we can't exactly cancel him for being stunned by her accusations of his friend, since he would've been seeing a completely different side of Brendan, and he had only now met Natasha. I'm sure now, after seeing it all play out on TV, that he's come to a different realisation. Anyways, I hope they rekindle something outside of paradise, because they seems so great for each other 😭😭

Do we know how long the filming went for this season? It seems like every article quotes Re*lity St*ve and says it was only 21 days of filming in June. But I noticed in this episode Aaron and James were talking about how they've "been there for 3/4 weeks already" and how "every Monday it starts again" which makes me think they must've filmed for longer than 21 days?? Probably doesn't change anything but I'm so curious to know.

The difference is also that everyone at that party saw Chris just leave Jessenia and go for Alana. Much of Brendan's conversations with Pieper were not heard by the others and his ITM interviews would have only been heard by production until it aired. Had people actually heard what he and Pieper were saying, I think they would have been gone before Chris and Alana. I think a LOT of the cast was probably just as shocked by what Brendan said and did when it aired as we were watching it. Hopefully Dr. Joe has now realized that Brendan isn't a good guy.
