Additional tip for exploding pokemon; Despite Ghost types being immune to the damage of explosion, the pokemon using it will still faint.

This shiny hunt was so annoying for me but so worth it in the end. To avoid explosion, either throw a Pokémon behind minior to catch it unaware or use a Pokémon with damp like hidden ability swampert

I haven't played any Gen 9 games. Is it easy to back strike? It sounds like it would be tedious to do it on every Minior since you can't tell which ones are shiny

@@Ragman312 you'd first use the auto battle feature to test if it's shiny since your pokemon will refuse to fight a shiny. Back strikes aren't very difficult, you just need to circle the pokemon until it stops following you. You also have infinite tries because you can just run from the pokemon if you mess up and do it again

For aurobattling, being a weak Pokémon. Like below level 20. It won’t kill the minior or any Pokémon in the terrarium via auto battle, and will still give the shiny indicator of not battling if you target a shiny minior or other mon

important warning for anyone hunting this shiny: do NOT use the sync feature to auto battle, as when using the synchro machine your pokemon won’t shake its head like with normal auto battles and will instead knock shinies out as if they were normal pokemon.

I originally was going to avoid hunting this thing just because of how hard the hunts would be. But lady luck was on my side randomly after starting the dlc. As i was roaming the snow biome mountain, i seen a random minior that gave me a weird look... so i decided to try and kill it. Use a rock sandwich (pickle + cucumber + 3x Bacon + 2 Herba Mystica) and go to Torchlit Labyrinth in the Coastal Biome. The narrow tunnels will force the Minior to spawn in large clusters. Use auto-battle and start knocking out everything in sight. Shiny pokemon can't be knocked out with auto battle. If your pokemon refuses to attack one, you've probably found a shiny. Encounter it to confirm (they shine without breaking the shell) , Run, Save. Try to catch it. If you fail, restart. It will be there in front of you when you load back in. Found one in ~45min using this method. Happy hunting!

I had an outbreak for minor then after awhile my false swipe scizor didn't attack one i also checked to see it i had a mark and it did. I saved before i battled it. It exploded on my twice so i named it pipebomb after miku meme and it's known as "Pipebomb the early riser".

Not only is Minior one of the hardest in the game to catch because there’s no indication of it’s shininess (similar to Ditto and Zorua), but it also can explode, making it arguably the hardest shiny to catch in the game afaik

Go to the electric cave in the Canyon Biome. Save your game. Set up a picnic. Make a sandwich in creative mode. Use 1 Bacon, Salty Herba Mystica, and Bitter Herba Mystica. This will give you Rock Encounter 3 and Shiny Rock Level 3. Auto Battle all the minions, outbreaks will not enhance your odds they just spawn in more Minior faster. I used Gallade because he’s fast. Auto Battle until you find a shiny Minior. Switch your Gallade with a Pokémon with the damp ability (I used Kingdra) so Minior can’t Explode.

Another tip: Pokémon Scarlet/Violet can only show 15 wild Pokémon within draw distance at a time... but Shiny Pokémon don't count toward that value. So if you see 16 (or more!) Pokémon in the overworld, one of them is Shiny.

All seven shiny variants are exactly the same... But you have to catch all seven shiny variants in order to complete the Shiny National Dex, in Home. Thankfully, with Alcremie, you just need to collect the 9 main flavor variants, in order to unlock all of the variants. The Sweets unlock, even without the Sweets being used. The first Shiny I unlocked for myself, are the Yellow Minior, and the Rainbow Swirl Alcremie (with the Love Sweet).

That’s how I found a shiny Comfey. I was doing a BBQ for auto battle near a Comfey outbreak, then suddenly, my Dondozo refused to fight a certain one. I ran up to it, and realized it had a blue face with slightly changed flowers (A Shiny). So, I caught it. My second full-odds shiny in a single day, strangely enough.

Here's how to find shinies easier .... Just do blueberry quests or wander around because I found a shiny minior while doing the auto battle bbq and a shiny cottonee and Alolan Exeggutor while wandering (P.S I just want to share that I found a shiny rellor, luvdisc, and crabraller in the span of like 6-7 minutes

Better tip: count the spawns. The game only spawns 15 Pokemon at a time, but shinies don’t count toward that total. Just do the 60 K.O.s to boost odds, save, make a sandwich, and picnic reset. If you ever count 16 or more spawned at a time, you’ve got a shiny.

I completed this hunt earlier today and I nearly broke down and looked up an easier way... Because I did it the traditional way. By just going to the spawn area for it, eating and sandwich and going around. I had like 3 phases in total with my sandwich and 4-5 shinies seen or caught. Scyther while I tried flying sandwich (was a mistake I'll never repeat), Random Tyrogue, Graveler which spawned before the shiny minior and was caught after the minior was caught, the Minior, and a Geodude that despawned on Me. I'm just happy to have it now considering it was one of my dream shinies. Put it in a dream ball for good measure.

I just discovered that today when I tried auto battle a Shiny Persian. I didn't even notice it was shiny. I think it had Purple Ears but wasn't sure until I battle him and it had the sparkle. If you want a competitive Shiny Minior, get one back in Sun and Moon. The Masuda Method is tied to your save file so long as the foreign parent (use a Ditto) is holding a Destiny Knot and never removed from the daycare. This means that so long as you don’t change the number of variables (such as if it is genderless), you can control the gender, Nature, IVs, and Ability of each and every egg hatched since the last save. Use Magikarp as your test Pokémon parent, since it hatches quickly. If you can breed an All-0 IV Magikarp and get a foreign Ditto with as many Best IV as possible, even better for identifying which parent passed down which IVs. First Masuda swap for competitive Pokémon you want shiny. Maybe a second so you have one of each gender, or a third if you want to transfer one up for use while breeding. Then Masuda Swap for Shinies. You can control which breed gets the Shiny depending on what ability you want, if you want the single random IV to matter, or which gender parent matters to get the competitive IVs.

Not for me. Minior was actually my 3rd Shiny Pokemon I encountered in the Indigo Disk DLC. Though I did encounter it by complete accident. Essentially, I was completing a task where I had to sneak up behind a Pokemon before battling, and the Pokemon I chose was a random Minior. And, I kid you not, the Minior I snuck up towards, and tossed a PokeBall at, was a Shiny. It especially caught me off guard due to the fact that that I also had a Shiny Hydrapple at the front of my party. So whenever I tossed his PokeBall at a wild Pokemon, it would let out that Shiny effect. So when I saw the two Shiny effects happening at the same time, I was completely shocked that I accidentally discovered a Shiny Minior.

I've been wanting someone to show a successful shiny hunt of Minior, but in Sun, Moon, U.Sun, and U.Moon. I'm just curious if it will sparkle in a random encounter when you happen upon it, or do you have to break it's shell first. Like if it's some sort of blind box, lottery situation.

I got mine last night, just found the random outbreak and decided why the hell not, so I hunted it with this exact method, took maybe 20 minutes to find and after it broke out the first 3 balls I threw I though to myself "Wait, does this thing have self-destruct?". Luckily the 4th ball caught it before it blew up
