I loaded Parabolic and full MACD on the chart and I noted that the signals by Parabolic are in alignment with MACD crossover.

ON THE UPTREND, A BLUE CIRCLE IS RIGHT BENEATH A HANGING MAN, INDICATING THE UPTREND IS STILL INTACT. NEXT, There is a blue circle above the next bar, indicating that bar starts a downtrend. Do you enter on the open or close of that bar? If on the close, I see that as a terrible entry, very late....literally, four bars from the top of the uptrend....In contrast, observe the last bar of the uptrend, at 18302. Suddenly there is a blue circle above a red thrust bar. That is a nice entry. Sell at the last remaining ten seconds of that red bar. My point is, the prior entry was late, whereas this entry is spot on....Notice just prior to that entry, there are three spinning tops. One spinning top can turn a mkt if the trend is showing signs of slowing down. Two spinning tops is very strong but three is overwhelming. That setup alone will cause me to go short. Sometimes wave counts are clear, in this trend not so clear. My estimate is four or five waves at the top, further supporting a short.

VERY impressive analysis!!! You're exactly right, the Parabolic SAR doesn't always provide the earliest entries. Using candlestick patterns as you mentioned is one good way to time your entries. Another way is with my Cycle Indicator (which is what I personally use for entries). Of course you can use both, which would be great if they coincide.

I realize you are a believer in counting waves as I am. however, there are times where the waves are self evident. Other times, you must decide which approach is appropriate on this trend. Of course a loss of momentum is helpful, but counting waves is a way to know that a trend appears to be slowing down. So, I count waves and loss of momentum. And I will use your cycle indicator...In short, when all align, and a candlestick appears, I feel the odds are probably ninety percent in your favor. I see candlesticks are the mkt screaming, it is time.However as you stress, mkts only trend 20 percent. Therefore the foregoing is more useful in knowing when to take profits after riding a trend...Not when to enter a new trend....It is ok to go short if a hanging man or shooting star etc appears, but in all likelihood the reversal will be short and move into a consolidation period. Best to exist your position quickly if the new mkt appears to be consolidating. Take a quick profit

Dear Barry, How do you discern which cycle low has the real money (momentum) behind it so that I can enter the trend from the get-go instead of getting stuck in low volatility and encountering subsequent cycle lows or spike lows that disappointedly stop me out and then the trend just resumes? Besides, thank you for your video tutorial. I appreciate your non-astrology and solid objective logic way of explaining; they benefit me a lot!

Barry, isn't the cycle low going to form before ADX crosses 20? Then, how will we know which cycle low is exactly the one to pinpoint the right timing? Another question: you mentioned that the RSI type of indicator measures rate of change, which isn't exactly the definition of momentum (with mass/volume, like MFI). Will you consider doing a video about how you will deploy these two kinds of momentum indicators (with or without mass/volume), and is there any nuance between them regarding making trading decisions? I think that would be an appealing topic since I'm very curious about it too. :) Thank you for your rich content every time!

Yes, the cycle low would appear before ADX crosses 20, which is why I use the cycle indicator to time the entries instead. Also, thank you for your video request. I'll add that to my list.

I think you need to elaborate a bit more. ADX was still over 20 when the trend changed from being trendy to choppy as it takes time to come back down or it'll probably stay over 20 in choppy markets depending upon how strong the red or green bars are. What's the solution for this? Thanks

What about changing settings inside the indicator for example to 0.1 in START SETTINGS to increase its sensitivity a bit?

You can do that, but you'll find that increasing the sensitivity will sometimes get you out of long trends that could have made you more money if you stayed in the entire time.

I create personal EA, when sar change and RSI strong, then price action. I put SL based on SAR and keep changing overtime. However. Not always working due to sideways 😢.. oh ok.. when sideways it should off
