Surely one of the greatest buildings there ever was, & a stunning testament to it's time, yet destroyed by neglect & short-sightedness. It breaks my heart that I never visited, but alas - I was too late. If I was a rich man I would have it rebuilt, even if just to experience it's rare atmosphere (there are few similar examples left, & none so awe-inspiring), but in the meantime I can only be grateful that videos like this exist to help us imagine & remember. RIP.

My thoughts exactly. To have all the money in the world and rebuild it eh?

I too got lost there when I was 5! It just proves that parents found the place so awe inspiring, they forgot to mind their children!

Such a beautiful building. How anyone can call it an eyesore is beyond me. Wish I'd been able to visit it :(

Great work. So sad that this was demolished, so much could have been done with it. Imagine all the car parks except the main multi-story as public gardens with trees and grass and other parts of the building could have been utilised as art galleries, museums and performance spaces it would have become a real asset to the city. Sadly now we just have a car park and stalled plans for a very bland shopping quarter.

It’s such a pity that they demolished it. I love Brutalist style architecture. They knew how to design a building and make it practical at the same time. I would have loved to have explored this fine building, especially to see what lifts there was. There was a lot of lift blocks about. Sadly I was only 3 and a half when they knocked it down. It’s a pity Ireland didn’t really have many examples of Brutalist architecture. There was a few buildings but most now have been demolished like the poor Tricorn Centre at this stage.

Absolutely fantastic. Thanks for putting this up - it was like a trip down memory lane. How hard would it be to use this 3D model as the basis for a level in a game? Say Counterstrike or similar? Again, great work.

By the time that it was demolished, it had been in a horrible state for years, beyond repair. Had it been maintained better, it could have been great. I'm gutted that because of my age (I'm 22), I never got to appreciate it that much, but I still have distant memories of my mum leading my around Charlotte's Superstore.
